Recursion [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Discussion in 'Out of Character Discussion' started by CerberusLycan, Dec 25, 2014.

  1. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

This is what I feared would happen if nobody bothered to reverse the Converyor Belt.

We can kill DALFORM this turn--a single attack from Sashna plus an augmented Pawn Strike. Em should heal Judit immediately, as well. I debated whether to have Yume use Coolant Flow this turn or just attack, but for the purposes of drawing aggro, I'll go with attacking EOROID. Here's hoping nobody Spasms her, though...

    I'm gonna keep pushing ahead.

Okay, we have several options right now. We can Perfect Kill EOROID by having Yume, Sashna and Em attack it this turn, or we can KO it normally through a different permutation of party members if Em would rather play a supporting role this turn. Or we can continue as-is, using the turn to set up buffs (Sashna's Doublecast and Jericho's Blade Augment come to mind) and the next to wreck havoc. I decided against having Yume use Coolant Flow at all, since activating the B-Ability will consume an Act Command anyway and wouldn't affect the cooldown of the next Sonic Drive whatsoever.

Of note is that the enemies can still use that highly-damaging AoE A-Skill, and that can quickly prove to be fatal.

If Jericho is going to activate blade instead of reactivating bulwark, he's going to need to be healed. Otherwise I can reactivate bulwark and keep facetanking. Just let me know what you want me to do.

  5. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

I would lean on reactivating Bulwark, I think, if we choose the "setup" route. Last battle, his Def debuffs were not particularly threatening, but switching to offense right now would be rather dangerous...

    Don't die guys

Okay, since nobody has even said anything, I'm going to put forward this turn's strategy.

Since Judit has already attacked, we'll discard the possibility of Perfect Killing or KOing EOROID this turn. Sashna should Doublecast this Turn for the Basic Attacks, and Em should heal Jericho to sustain tanking duties. Provided nothing outrageous happens the next Enemy Phase, we can then fully focus on dispatching the remaining enemies.

I've turned the reins over to Cerby for the next update (as I have a hefty chunk of schoolwork to catch up on), so you guys will be at the mercy of his vicious RNGods.

    Best of luck. x

And I'm updating Recursion on Saturday regardless of whether or not everyone has posted. It's just been so long since it progressed.

    hello anyone there???

  12. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Silver, I'm going to need Em to attack EOROID for the kill. Yume's using Overkiller this turn and we cannot afford it using Contact Decimation on us again.

  13. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

@Shadow – This turn or next?

  14. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Preferably this turn because we don't want any more explosions the next time the enemies act.

  15. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Done. I'll heal Judit next turn.

  16. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

10/10 would've laughed if Yume had gotten the Spasm. I had hoped Sashna would have sufficed as a blood sacrifice for my RNGods.

  17. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Hey @CodasterTheDisaster, could I move Judit to E9 instead? Her basic attack is ranged so she can still attack this and subsequent turns, and she can easily leave that spot with Pawn Influence if ever necessary. I was just waiting for @Silver to heal her before doing so. (Even though I don't think Calebot can actually hit her from there?)

I can also have her reverse the conveyor belts from E9 if anybody wants to occupy H9. (Maybe even do that instead of attacking Calebot this turn?)

  18. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

    gotcha

  19. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

So, by my calculations, we'd be able to get a Perfect Kill next turn if everybody attacked this turn and Em finished it off the next. And yeah, I am considering Jericho's Bulwark mode, we'll just have to compensate for it with a weak Pawn Strike from Judit.

    Essentially, this turn should go:
Jericho moves to next to Calebot and attacks. (2 damage)
Yume attacks (3 damage) and moves so Judit can move in and attack with a weak Pawn Strike. (4 damage)
Em moves a bit closer and uses her 4 range to hit the bot. (4 damage)

  20. So how do you guys want to handle the bag room? Try to move the corpse or...?
