Recursion [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Discussion in 'Out of Character Discussion' started by CerberusLycan, Dec 25, 2014.

  1. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Yume to D4 and Judit to E5, rather. That makes it possible for both of them to continue attacking IKAZATOR no matter where it moves. First and foremost, however, Em needs to move to C7. Sashna can then take her place in C5 and everyone else can surround IKAZATOR after that.

The plan is as follows: Yume attacks DAFTRON for the Perfect Kill, Em heals Sashna, and everyone else attacks IKAZATOR. We have the battle, people.

EDIT: Nevermind, Judit should stay where she is. I forgot about Pawn Influence once again...

EDIT II: Okay, based on DAFTRON's movement edit, Sashna will have to kill it, as it's impossible for Yume to reach it without jeopardizing our positioning. Everything else should proceed normally.

Em's Move stat sucks and according to Jacob bb we can't move through enemies so.... where should Em move instead of C7?

  3. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Hmm... let's try C3. It's a gamble to test whether ARMATROID's corpse is unlandable, but there aren't any better options right now.

We're done, gentlemen, and good job.

Three attacks will Perfect Kill IKAZATOR. For this purpose, I'd avoid having Judit and Yume attack it (Critical Hit chance and 4 Total Damage, respectively), and we should also let Jericho kill it to fill his X-Gauge completely. In case the RNGods make this fail, we can always aim for the Overkill next turn, but other than extremely unlucky rolls, we're just about done with this.

    I suppose I'll wait, then.

  6. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

We're taking a sweet intermission because I've been hella swamped in assignments. We'll resume on Friday, I'd expect. Hopefully everyone has had an opportunity to update their profiles.

alright next level strat: Sashna aggros with thunder-element attack while Jericho facetanks it

  8. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

So, are we going to go for the slugs/achievement, or are we going to go after the security droids?

Also, are we going to investigate the bag?

  9. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

I would like the achievement just because I'm a perfectionist, but if y'all would rather forsake it then...

    *bites tongue*

    . . . okay.

  10. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Getting the achievement would be extremely troublesome. Five Player Phases is rather generous considering how individually fragile they are, but targeting them implies neglecting the Security Drones and using resources that would be better spent in disposing them. That said, I don't know how potentially fast we could kill off the Neutrals, but considering our positioning and time limit, I think it'd be best if we decide whether we're aiming for the Achievement right now.

EDIT: You know what, fuck it. I'm up for winning the Achievement. If something goes wrong we can always rush for the exit. Getting the bag is obligatory as well.

I'm against going after the slugs right at the start. The robots have an AoE attack and I'm not too comfortable being locked in a small room fighting slugs that hinder your movement while being bombarded by robots and having a relatively high chance of being stunned while passing through allies. But, I do think we should take out some of the bots and see if we can safely kill any slugs after that. (Especially the one guarding the bag since I kind of want to really know what's in it.(inb4 the bag is actually a superboss))

Oh, and I also think that reversing the belts next turn might prove useful (EOROID is in perfect position to reach the back row in two turns) so maybe trying to have somebody near D2 might be helpful.

Edit: Oh woops, I just noticed that there's a time limit for the achievement. Yeah, after seeing that I'm against going after it. The fact that opening a door has its own command and since the bots could easily block us off implies breaking off into two teams to efficiently reach them in time, which won't be fun.

We'll leave the Neutrals for later, then. For now, we should concentrate on the Security Drones. Yume will reserve her Overkiller for the second Sonic Drive of the battle, as it will raise it to 16 Total Damage. Someone should also reverse the direction of the Conveyor Belt using the nearest switch... I assume it corresponds to the lower, longer one. Even if it doesn't, this works in our favor as the enemies will not be able to comfortably escape using it. Jericho should Bulwark and march ahead.

Regarding posting order, it should probably be Jericho --> Judit --> Yume. Yume won't be able to attack this turn, so her positioning has lower priority than the two.

  13. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

I'll go ahead and move Jericho to F5. I want to get a free hit on Eoroid if it gets on the conveyor, and that will also let me block it in, so it either stays to fight Jericho, or runs to the backline.

  14. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

And now Jericho has a giant animated cookie protecting him...

  15. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Oops, I think I overcosted Gingerbread Knight, seeing it in action just now. After this battle, its cost should be lowered to 8 MP.

  16. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

Damn that cookie crumbled fast! Whelp, let's see... Auntie Em... hmm...

  17. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

well you know what they say

that's the way the cookie crumbles

    AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  18. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]

  19. RE: Recursion II [Strategy + Out of Character Thread]
