Pokémon Sun Version and Moon Version

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Lord X-Giga-X, Jul 18, 2015.

1. Finally an eastern dragon Pokemon? Awesome.

I fucking love Vikavolt

Team so far: Litten, Vikavolt, Pikipek, maybe Drampa

2. Now it's July 1st, and (sort of) new info is available. Here's a trailer to watch while I piece together everything...

--------------------------------------

Okay, first off, Iwanko and Nekkoala are finally revealed, their English names being Rockruff and Komala respectively. Komala's special ability is Comatose in English.

Tapu Koko's ability is Electric Surge, and its move, Nature's Madness, reduces its target's HP by half.

The other six newly revealed Pokemon had their English names revealed, but let's get into their abilities.
-Charjabug's ability is Battery, which raises the power of its partner's Special Attacks. And not like it needed confirmation, but Charjabug is indeed Grubbin's evolved form.
-Vivavolt has Levitate.
-Drampa can have either Berserk or Sap Sipper for its ability. Berserk raises its Special Attack when its HP drops below 50%
-Bruxish has either Dazzling or Strong Jaw for its abilities.
-Cutiefly has either Honey Gather or Shield Dust.
-Togedemaru has either Iron Barbs or Lightning Rod.

Also, the Sugi artwork for all of Zygarde's forms are available. And apparently I was wrong. 10% and 50% can have either Aura Break or Power Construct for their ability. Power Construct, aka Swarm Change, changes them to Complete when their HP drops below 50%. Complete, on the other hand, only has Power Construct. And apparently, Core Enforcer removes the ability of its target if it already moved... Geez o__o

On a brighter note, we get to ride Pokemon again.

3. #funfact – It's funny the Pikachu-clone is a hedgehog when it is illegal to own one in Hawaii

4. I can't tell if "Iwanko" or "Rockruff" is the funnier name

5. Why is obligatory Pikachu clone obligatory again? It's lazy design is what it is and I'm sick of it.

Why is the electric bug some totally normal looking beetle? Meh, who cares. Electric/Bug y'all. [Why is the second form a subway car?]

Bruxish is basically fish!Jynx. And it's ugly as sin. I might get over it, maybe.

Tapu Koko is a nifty design based nicely off Hawaiian lore. Good job, I guess.

Old geezer asian derg. Nuff said.

6. I don't know, I think this is one of the better pikaclones. Though Pokemon has had lazy design since gen 1. (Voltorb, anyone?)

7. All things considered, I should have brought up an event for the likelihood that something would be revealed, but whatever.

A new Pokemon has been revealed at the Japan Expo by Masuda. This time, it is Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon. With the ability Corrosion, it can Poison even Poison and Steel-types.

8. Salandit is my new favorite Pokemon.

9. I agree with Cerby. Salandit is by far my new favorite Gen VII Pokemon. Sorry Tapu Koko, Drampa and Komala, you can take a seat. I have to wonder what would happen though in a matchup of Salandit vs. Komala since Salandit's ability let's it bypass immunities to the Poison status effect so it can hit Poison-types and Steel-types but Komala's ability makes it so the only status effect that it can be afflicted with is Sleep.

10. Perhaps it only bypasses Type-based immunity?

11. The video said Salandit can poison all Pokemon types, not all Pokemon. I imagine Komala and Pokemon with Immunity and Pokemon that set up Safeguard are unaffected.

Also, Poison/Fire. This thing is going on my team.

12. I CAN'T! I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT RIGHT NOW! LOFL

*several minutes later*
Alright... Alright... Got it out of my system... I hope...

Alright, so CoroCoro has leaked once again, revealing a pair of new Pokemon. Meaning that despite the infodump, the magazine is still a potential source of new information.

But yeah, new Pokemon... Let's just...
So first off, we have Kiteruguma. It is Normal/Fighting with either Fluffy or Klutz for its ability. According to the info given, it gives painful hugs... No wonder everyone in Alolo is scared of it.

Then we have... Mimikkyu. It is Ghost/Fairy with the ability False Colors. It wears cloth based off of old Pikachu merch because it wants to be loved as much as Pikachu...

So yeah, here's our new Pokemon. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to the corner to continue laughing...

13. first of all, that bear's color scheme is really weird.

second of all, the mimic pokemon is amazing. I just love it. Totally using one on my team. Might even end up on my Fairy team if it's strong enough.

14. !!!!!

Honestly Kiteruguma and Mimikkyu are my favorite revealed Pokemon so far!
I love the picture of Kiteruguma in the lower left where it's casually just crushing the log with it's hug. (It's whole powerful hug thing reminds me of the one panda from Kung Fu Panda 3!)
That sort of cheap, drawn-on Pikachu face Mimikkyu has for it's design is everything and I think it actually looks really cool in that lower-right picture where it seems to be extending a part of what I presume is it's real body from under the cloth. Ghost/Fairy seems pretty cool, but I'm not an expert on most type match-ups so I don't really know how actually effective it might be.

15. I believe Ghost/Fairy would play defensively something to this effect:

x1/4: Bug
x1/2: None.
x1: Flying, Poison, Water, Fire, Rock, Ground, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dark, Fairy
x2: Steel, Ghost
x0: Normal, Fighting, Dragon

Unless something about the type chart changes, but I doubt it.

16. Geez, what is going on today... We got a new trailer.

For brief moments, we see our two new Pokemon, in addition to the player riding Tauros, Lapras, and Sharpedo. But more importantly, we see our protagonists utilizing their plot devices, causing their Pokemon to unleash devastating attacks. We're not entirely sure how to trigger this yet, but it's another wait and see thing, I guess...

In addition, both the trailer and the Japanese site have the date 7/16 listed. This is the same day that the latest Pokemon movie premieres in theaters. The day Magearna's QR code begins distribution. But will we be getting anything else out of this day? At this point, who knows. We'll just have to wait and see.

17. Oh god we can JoJo pose in battle now?!

Already the best game.

18. Welp, looks like thanks to education, I missed some new things. Alright, alright.... Here's a trailer while I slowly compile everything.

Alright, let's start off with the new Pokemon:

Kiteruguma is known as Bewear in the US... Goddamn pun, even its name is a warning sign. Its ability, Fluffy, allows it to take half damage from attacks that make direct contact. The drawback is that it takes double damage from Fire-type moves.

... Pffftt... Once again, Mimikyu. It's ability, Disguise, allows it to escape damage from an attack once, and its appearance changes afterward.

Wimpod... is a wimpy Bug/Water-type. With the ability Wimp Out, it will escape battle when its HP drops below 50%.

Bounsweet is a Grass-type. It has either Leaf Guard or Oblivious for its ability.

Comfey is a Fairy-type Pokemon, and you'll probably never guess what it's based on. It has either Flower Veil or a new ability, Triage. With Triage, restorative moves gain the highest priority.

Finally, we have Mudsdale, a Ground-type. It has either Own Tempo or a new ability, Stamina. Stamina raises its Defense by 1 stage when it is attacked. It has a new move, Highhorse Power.

Sun and Moon introduce Hyper Training. Located in one part of the Alola region, you can exchange Bottle Caps to RAISE A POKEMON'S IVs. No, you are not misreading that. This is A Real Thing. The only catch is that the Pokemon has to be Level 100.

Finally, you are given the option to host your own competitions on PGL.
