Pokémon Ω-Ruby and Α-Sapphire

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Lord X-Giga-X, May 7, 2014.

1. And Mega Slowbro revealed at Worlds.

Junichi Masuda acknowledged the Korean fuck up that occured a few days prior.
So in case you've missed it, two Mega Evolutions were accidentally revealed by Korea mere days before they were actually intended to be revealed.

2. WPM uploaded some clips that had been added to the Japanese site. Nothing super spectacular, though.

3. I beat Giga!

From WPM:
Mega Gallade is the first new Mega Evolution revealed this month along with its Trainer, Wally. We can’t see its details yet.
Mega Camerupt‘s Ability is Sheer Force and it is still Fire/Ground. All of its stats increase except Speed, which is lowered.
Mega Sharpedo has Strong Jaw and is still Water/Dark. All of its stats get boosted.
Primal Kyogre‘s new Ability is named Beginning Ocean, reflecting its game’s alpha theme. It brings “strong rain.” It is using a new attack, but the name is cut off.
Primal Groudon‘s new Ability is named Final Earth, reflecting its omega theme. It brings “strong sunlight.” Primal Groudon uses a new attack called “Cliff Sword.”
In case you missed it earlier, a demo of the games will be available next month.

WPM's article in case I go to bed while this is still being released:

Related article on demo:
http://pokebeach.com/2014/09/corocoro-leaks

There’s also a blurb that says “You can obtain a new Mega Evolution,” meaning the goal of the demo will probably be to unlock or see this new Mega Evolution.

MEGA FLYGON PLS.

4. More news from Serebii:
• Primal Kyogre's new move is called Origin Wave.
• Rayquaza is going to "hold a secret to Mega Evolution"
• Continuing on from the details about the demo, we'll be able to transfer the Mega we get, as well as any items. Also, it's hinted that playing the demo every day will cause something special.
• Mega Gallade has been confirmed as keeping its typing, and having the ability Inner focus.

Mod Edit: Goddamnit, Nate!

5. So... what's the difference between Final Earth and Drought again?

6. We don't know yet. I think most of us are under the assumption that it might act like gen III-V Drought.

Then again, they might do something more with it, but a longer-lasting effect is a fairly reasonable guess.

7. Oh my god WHEN did Drizzle get changed to get all shitty!?!? Well at least they look cool.

8. Welcome to Gen VI.

9. After being beaten to the punch by Kuda and being ninja'd by Nate, will the third time be the charm?

Alright, the US site has updated with the newly revealed information.
Primal Groudon's ability, Desolate Land, changes the weather to strong sunlight, and acts like Drought prior to Gen VI until it is switched out. In addition, it prevents the weather from being changed and blocks Water-type moves. Its new move, Precipice Blades, hits multiple targets.
Primal Kyogre's ability, Primordial Sea, acts as Drizzile prior to Gen VI until it is switched out. It also prevents the weather from being changed and blocks Fire-type moves. Its new move, Origin Pulse, hits multiple targets.

As expected, PGL and Pokemon Bank will be compatible with the games.

North America will also be receiving the revealed demo.

And finally, some artwork and a new trailer.

EDIT: k first the US site was said to have been updated, though I saw nothing new. But when I said it hadn't, it did....
This has just been a very off week for me.

EDIT(2):
Man, this is an awesome image.
Though what is with that random collapsed Aqua Grunt?

10. So in the past few days, we've gotten news about the demo for other countries. Check out Serebii for those news, as this post isn't about that.

On October 2nd, we've got a livestream starting at 5am EST featuring the games, which promises new information. In addition, on October 5th, Pokemon Get☆TV will be showcasing new info as well, including info on Rayquaza. While that does seem interesting, looking at the the timing here, part of me thinks that Pokemon Get☆TV will just be doing a recap of whatever gets revealed during the livestream days prior. Because really, it's rare that we get any info from them that hasn't been revealed by some other thing.
But if that ends up being the case and the livestream reveals something about Rayquaza, could this finally mean what we've all been expecting at this point?

To Be Revealed Next Week

11. Not Primal Rayquaza, but Mega Rayquaza. Revealed in the stream that occured today.

It keeps its original typing, and has a new ability Delta Stream. It removes weather, and has the added bonus of making Flying-types take normal damage from moves that would normally be super effective against them.
It also has a new move, Dragon Ascent, said to be the most powerful Flying-type move.

The reason why it's a Mega Evolution and not a Primal Reversion will be explained in the story.

It also Mega Evolves in a way different from other Pokemon.

And footage.

12. omg Mega Rayquaza
sugoooiii

13. Welcome to a brand new episode of CoroCoro Reveals! In this month's issue, we have some new Mega Evolutions.

To start off, we have two Mega Evolutions that I don't think anyone saw coming...

Here we have Mega Beedrill. It has the same typing, and gains the ability Adaptability.

Next, we have Mega Pidgeot. It has the same typing, and has the ability No Guard.
Also, it looks like Mega Slowbro and Mega Audion are in this issue.... Oookaay...

And surprisingly, we have the official reveal of Mega Latios and Mega Latias. The two Mega legendaries that look nearly identical to each other, though they apparently have different eye colors.
Like last time, Latios is found in Omega Ruby and Latios in Alpha Sapphire. And like last time, the other came be obtained in the game via the Eon Ticket event item.
HOWEVER, you have the ability to fly the two Mega legendaries over Hoenn, finding various Pokemon within the clouds. This strangely includes finding Dialga, Palkia, Reshiram, and Zekrom. In addition, there are other islands you can find through this method, and these islands are home to other Legendaries, making it possible for all non-event Legendaries to be obtained in Gen VI. This whole thing is made possible through an item known as the Eon Flute.

So to sum it up, so far, we have two new Megas, and two Megas we previously knew about get ridiculously awesome.

14. The TPP subreddit is probably going nuts right now.

15. Why does it feel like Mega Pokemon are just excuses to Gen-VI-ify the relatively clunky Gen I designs?

Also, I wish that you could fly up into the atmosphere with any Pokemon and have a flying-type challenge-- a minigame or something. Why this is tied to legendaries I don't know.

16. Shouldn't there be a lot more Gen I Mega Evolutions if that's really what they're intending?

Anyway, a couple of new scans have popped up!

First off, two pages featuring Mega Rayquaza. Nothing we don't already know, but now we get some Sugi artwork!

Here we have the PokeNav, now the MultiNav. Why has it been renamed? Because its four settings apparently qualifies it for a name change! I don't know...
Anyway, it's four settings. First off, MapNavi, which is... well... a map. Next, TVNavi, which is a TV.... yeeeaaah... Next, we have PlayNavi, which has features such as PokemonAmie and GTS. And finally, DexNavi, which helps you find Pokemon in the wild and register them in your PokeDex. Through this, you can either sneak up on Pokemon in the wild, or register Pokemon you encounter in the overworld.

17. Two new things.

The US site has updated with the new info revealed in CoroCoro.

From what it shows in the new trailer and on the site, instead of chasing the Eon duo around Hoenn in their respective games, they seem to automatically join your team.

[IMG][IMG]
Mega Beedrill gets boosts in Attack and Speed while Mega Pidgeot gets a boost in Sp Atk.

The PokeNav Plus:
-Dex Nav: It also shows information on Pokemon hidden with the area you are in. It shows your current location, silhouetted icons of Pokemon you've encountered, and fully colored icons of Pokemon you've caught. If you have caught a Pokemon in that area, you can choose to search for only that Pokemon. This is good to do as it the DexNav has a Search Level that increases as you find more of that Pokemon, and as it increases, so do your chances of finding said Pokemon with its hidden ability or a rare move.
-PlayNav: Has PSS, Pokemon Amie, and Super Training.
-BuzzNav: Pretty much there for TV and Holo Caster replacement.
-AreaNav: Probably the most useful map ever. In addition to telling you info on Towns and Cities and what Pokemon are where, it has the Trainer's Eye function from the old PokeNav. In addition, you can use it to check on your Berries.

In addition, demo info has come out, revealing two new Mega Evolutions: Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie. Both seem to keep their original typing, and Mega Steelix has the ability Sand Force and Mega Glalie has Refrigerate.
[IMG][IMG]

Starting on the 21st, those in the US with a Pokemon Trainer Club account will be able to get the demo. There shouldn't be any reason not to have one at this point, as it is required to have one in order to access Pokemon Global Link.

18. Two other things of note that really aren't that surprising:

*There will not be Trainer customization.
*Despite being compatible with these games, X and Y will not be receiving a patch to include the new Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions.

19. The second one's kinda stupid, really. That means that unless it's just in the coding without being obtainable, XY can't link with ORAS if the ORAs player has something new.
