Pokémon X and Y

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Lord X-Giga-X, Jan 8, 2013.

  1. I still say Grass/Ground, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Ice for the evolutions.

  2. Grass/Dark I call; the last attack looked suspiciously like Night Slash.

Then again! (hanging sentence is okay because nintendo)

  3. The Scyther line and Sceptile can learn Night Slash, so...

  4. ^Which is why the hanging "Then again!"

Dark/Psychic/Fighting would be neat, however; it would be a nice and welcome change.

  5. Well, I see you've all thought this through pretty well, already. :5 The mixture of Norse and Oriental mythologies (as I'm reading here/elsewhere nowadays) greatly intrigues me; I never really woulda thunk that Nintendo would put THIS much behind Pokemon's mythology. It really is pretty darn cool! Like many others, I prefer Fennekin of the three. For me, it's a bit crazy, since it'll be the first time I've had a fire starter as my first choice in, actually, forever, but with any luck, it'll be a welcome and interesting change for me.

Furthermore, I'm probably going for Y. Yveltal looks appealing to me; kinda reminds me of Princess Mononoke, actually. Last but not least, it's about time we got a 3D upgrade for the main games! I'm really loving how this is shaping up, and I'm really loving the quick release of the title. 3DS finally has its system seller. Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion, Mystery Dungeon, and Pokemon Y are going to make this a great year for 1st/2nd party as Nintendo finally needed, in my opinion. Oh yes.

Hrm...Can't belive Destructoid's posting fake pokemon...

  7. Alright folks, it's that time again. We've entered the timeframe of CoroCoro scans being leaked. And if Muddy's post has been any indication, there have been fake scans popping up. Here they all are for your viewing pleasure. Or displeasure. idk

... The fuck is that second one supposed to be? o_O

Obvious that the fandom has been having fun with Fennekin, but come on. It's far too soon for them to be revealing starter evolutions.

Anyway, keep an eye out for the real scans.

  8. Unless you were part of last night's conversation on the IRC or haven't already found out, CoroCoro has revealed new stuff.

Meet Ninfia, the new Eeveelution they've been building up to these past two months.

  9. Now I gotta worry if my Ninfia looks like a girl when in reality its a guy ಠ_ಠ

Freaking unisex look. It throws people off so much sometimes.

    And there's this too: http://puu.sh/21sSD

  11. lel! I'm thinking Dragon because it's the only type left that was a Special type from before the split.

  12. >implying they've followed any other fan-speculated trend so far this generation

Really, it looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like a Dragon-Type.

Huh... looking at that footage of Sylveon, that first attack does look like it could be Focus Blast.

Although I have no idea what that third attack is.

  14. Sylveon? Sylph?

Someone somewhere is over-analyzing the way the eeveelutions are positioned in this pic. Although I'm kinda seeing what they're seeing, it's most likely a coincidence.

  16. Share the over-analyzation with us!

  17. Well if you look really closely at it, it's very easy to see, but I'll explain anyway.

See, the Eeveelutions are obviously grouped in this octagon of sorts by generation introduced. Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon being at the top, being introduced in Gen I. Espeon and Umbreon under them, introduced in Gen II. Glaceon and Leafeon under those two, introduced in Gen IV. And at the bottom is Sylveon.

But just look a bit closer at it. You can see Espeon and Umbreon directly across from each other for the reason stated above. Not to mention Vapereon, Jolteon, and Flareon are directly across for Leafeon, Sylveon, and Glaceon respectively. Now, if you remember the known types of the Eeveelution, you can see there are 3 cases where an Eeveelution is paired up with one they have an advantage over. Dark > Psychic. Grass > Water. Fire > Ice.

Now, if one thinks about this (maybe too much), they'd assume the same case would be true for Jolteon and Sylveon. Thus, they'd reach the conclusion that Sylveon is either a Ground-type or a Flying-type.

But like I said, this is most likely a huge coincidence.

  18. I can see it being a Ground type, still going for Normal or Fighting however.

  19. @Giga
Hmm, I see. It sure does make a lot of sense but I really, relly can't see it being a ground type. But still, the pokemon series does have some strange thing. (Remoraid to octillery wtf)

  20. Also, I see a lot of people connecting "Sylveon" with "sylph"; I noted at one place that "silva"/"sylva" are also Latin for "forest". Point for Bug.
