Pokémon X and Y

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Lord X-Giga-X, Jan 8, 2013.

  1. Another trailer was recently shown at E3, revealing three more Pokemon and a new character.

There's also this, which I'm not exactly sure what it's about...

A more detailed post when I can find this trailer.

  2. Made ten bucks off of the announcement of Fairy-type as the official name for the type, so I'm set ¯\(°_o)/¯

  3. The red bird is obviously an evolution of the region's generic bird whose name I don't feel like looking up again.

    Edit: Fletchling, that was it.

  4. The roundtable has started half an hour ago. I'll be watching for anything revealed and then accumulating it into this post once it's over.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Ooooooooooooooookay, let's get this started.

-Starting off with the new Pokemon, which have been shown in the post above (from the trailer that was shown much earlier than intended). Their artwork is also shown below. The seaweed-thing is Skrelp, and is Poison/Water. The crab Pokemon is Clauncher, and is a Water-type. The bird is Fletchling's evolved form, Talonflame, and is Fire/Flying.
-There also seems to be a new lion cub Pokemon a Fire-type, but there's not anything else about it. Not even a name. Or image yet.
-Introducing the new type of wild battle, Horde Encounters. In these, one of your Pokemon will face 5 opposing Pokemon.
-Introducing the new type of battle, Sky Battles. These battles are limited to Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with the ability Levitate.
-You can choose from one of 7 languages to play the game (English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, or Korean).
-PSS (Player Search System) allows player to search for others locally and globally to battle and trade. People met this way are split into Friends, Acquaintances, and Passersby (met through Streetpass). Interacting with Passersby will promote them to Acquaintances, who can then be registered as friends. It can hold up to 100 friends. It also syncs with the 3DS Friend List.
-Backwards compatability is being worked on.
-As expected, the Fairy-type was made to balance the Dragon-type.
-Online battles haven't changed at all really. But now, you can select music for the battle.
-Gogoat isn't the only Pokemon you can ride. You can also ride on Pokemon like Rhyhorn for certain situations.
-EVs and IVs will be more visible.
-Nothing can be announced in regard to DLC.
-Connecting with Pokemon via Pokemon-amie can result in various in-battle benefits, like more critical hits or higher evasion.
    -Still only one save file.
-The number of new Pokemon isn't revealed yet.
    -Nothing regarding the villainous team(s).
-There will be various types of transportation. Some are localized to the part of the region.
-8-direction movement has been confirmed (even though we've already seen this).

Man, that was a lot of stuff. I'm sorry if I've forgotten anything in all this, but that'd just show how much was said in all of this.

    Anyway, new trailer:

    And new Pokemon artwork.

  5. Hey, I just want it to be an Ice type, Giga, you don't have to be so sour about it.

Team confirmed: Chespin, Talonflame, Sylveon, Skrelp/Clauncher, Noivern, ??? (maaaaaybe Helioptile, or Gogoat). <3

  6. And I'm just saying let's be careful assuming its type based on the fact that it can learn Ice Beam. Assuming it on stuff like that makes a certain admin think Sylveon is a Fighting type for a while. :p

And if you thought the news was over....

    THINK AGAIN!

    There's even more from CoroCoro!

I'm guessing this is the lion cub Pokemon sighted yesterday. It's name is Shishiko, the Lion Cub Pokemon (yeah....). It's Fire/Normal, and able to learn a new move called Battle Cry, which lowers the opponent's Attack.

This is Furabebe, the Lone Flower Pokemon. It's a Fairy-type Pokemon able to learn Fairy Wind.

Here we have Vivillon with its pre-evolutions, Kofukimushi and Kofuurai. The latter is most likely the Spewpa mentioned on the foreign sites. Both of them are Bug-types.

Here we have two new characters. On the left is Pansy, a photographer from Lumiose City. On the right is Viola, the Gym Leader of Hakudan City. She specializes in Bug-types.

The starting town is Asame Town. The three characters here are all starting their journeys at the same time as you: (from left to right) Tieruno, Toraba, and Sara. You also befriend the opposite gender character, either Callum or Serena (Japanese names).
Also, you have a Rhyhorn in the front yard.

  7. Wow what's up with the Fire and Bu types? Huh. This will still be interesting to say the least.

  8. Confirmed team so far: Fennekin, Fletchling evo, Umbreon(if Sylveon's in it, of course Umbreon is), Noivern, Yveltal.

May replace Fletchling if we get a better Flying-type. But Talonflame <3

And they had BETTER have backwards compatibility. Jet needs to own Giga in 3D.

This video is basically a recap of the roundtable event itself, and two questions from the Q&A that followed.

As for me, so far it's Fennekin, Yancham, and Noivern. Maybe Skrelp. I don't know yet.

Small new gameplay trailer released this morning.

  11. Damnit, Tezz! I wanted to post that!
Good thing you left me everything else, though.

Okay, so the US site has been updated with what CoroCoro has revealed.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    Kofukimushi is known as Scatterbug.
Kofuurai is confimed to be the Spewpa mentioned on the foreign sites.
    Shishiko is known as Litleo.
And Furabebe is known as Flabébé

The move Battle Cry is known as Noble Roar. Like Boomburst, it's a Normal-type attack.

Asame Town is known as Vaniville Town.
Hadakun City is known as Santalune City. Apparently, you get the Roller Skates here.

Turns out the main characters' names are Calem and Serena. So that Xavier was the name whoever was playing gave their character. My bad.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
    Sara is known as Shauna.
Tieruno is Tierno. Apparently, he's trying to make the best Pokemon dance team. .... Wait, dance team? wat
Toroba is known as Trevor. You get your Pokedex from him.
Pansy is known as Alexa. And I goofed, as she's actually a journalist. And she's actually Viola's older sister.
Speaking of Viola, she keeps her name.

  12. <3 This is getting better and better. Except I fail to see why they must keep showing Noivern with Beatboxer only.

  13. Just gonna leave this here...

    (Yes, that's brave bird.)

  14. ... wait, is that an actual thing or fanmade? I don't remember it from the trailers but it looks so well-done...

  15. If it is real, it might have been shown on Pokemon Smash. Either way, that looks awesome!

So August 17-18, the first Pokemon Trade Show will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight. As you'd expect, there'll be all sorts of Pokemon-related stuff (well duh). Included in this are the first live demos of XY

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    06/29

Yep, that was a clip from Pokemon Smash. Looked around on YouTube a bit to find it.

In other news, XY battles were shown off at the World Hobby Fair. Really, nothing particularly new was revealed there. However, it did show off some of the moves a few Gen VI Pokemon were capable of learning.

Though I'd have to say that Fennekin's is the most noteworthy:
"Scratch, Tail Whip, Ember, Howl, Fire Spin, Flamethrower, Psychic"
It's getting more obvious now, isn't it?

  16. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=613196

Monorpale(at least in France), a Steel/Ghost sword. Seems damn awesome, actually.

  17. Beat again! Guess that's what I get for being on a train for 15 hours with no Internet...

Anyway, sword Pokemon that unsheathes itself? Give it an awesome moveset and it's got a place on my team!

  18. I shall have one and name it Hexcalibur!
