OA Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Discussion in 'Roleplay Archives' started by Shadow, Sep 24, 2011.

  1. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

"... Sure," Devis responded with a heavy sigh. He began to lazily walk towards the steel door, still slightly tired.

He suddenly stopped when he saw a somewhat disturbing sight: an unconscious Stu. Devis was just absolutely disgusted by his existence since the day he met him. Despite only knowing him for two days, he was already used to seeing him either running around like the idiot he was or unconscious. He simply stared at the being in absolute disgust, thinking Oh terrific, he's unconscious again.

Nevertheless, he really did not care for how or what Stu had done to get knocked out in the first place. He just simply shook his head, and responded, "I don't even want to know." He then continued towards the steel door, his mind focused on who could possibly be trying to get in, if not Fyuren.

If it isn't Fyuren, then maybe... Nah, I don't think Aniu has much of a reason to come here... other than bringing someone here... Meh, whoever it is, better not be a businessman. I don't care about the consequences, I'll just leave them to be victims of the Nightmares. Stupid businessmen and their fancy suits and their expensive suitcases...

Finally reaching the steel door, he had a slightly annoyed expression on his face, more or less a result of his mind focused on his hatred of businessmen. Regardless, he slowly opened the door...

"Fear of those ghastly creatures that inhabit this foul, aesthetically displeasing realm," Solera stated bluntly, not embarrassed to reveal her fear, "I am Solera Stigmí, bodyguard of the great city of Chronopolis, yet these... creatures... are not affected by my strikes. I need shelter." Looking upon the masked man, she was slightly intimidated by him, but this could be easily hid by her fear of the Nightmares. "So, will you allow me to stay with you, at least for the night?"

  3. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Fyurendryl has been accepted to take the trial for guild master. The terms have been agreed upon. Fyuren will be sent to a primitive time of a random world where-

The door opened slowly, snapping Fyuren from his stupor. He brushed past Devis. "Thank you, devil hand." He kept walking, past all those in the room and into an empty chair where he collapsed. He closed his eyes for a moment...

-he will use the materials available to him to return to this very building within one minute of his departure. Failure to make the one minute gap will be deemed a disgrace to the guild and Fyuren will be demoted to Techy forever. Failure to return at all will render him eternally deemed as dead and none are to seek after him. A successful return will award Fyurendryl Guild Master status.

  4. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Bryce felt the hands of two different people, the first set being smooth and soft and the other being hardened and firm. Either way, it brought him away from the endless abyss of nightmares.

Stu twitched on the ground, drool beginning to appear on his cheek.

    EDIT: edited :p

  5. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

((crazE, your post doesn't make sense--Stu is on the floor, unconscious.))

So it was Fyuren, indeed, a quite interesting but mysterious man who Kaneli had brought to Sharra's Shelter earlier. He brushed past Devis in a hurry, his mind lost in the expanse of his own thoughts before nearly slumping on a chair. Was he perhaps insane? No. It didn't look like it. As she was considering approaching the person, a figure--Kaneli--appeared in the corner of her vision, apparently done checking and probably going to begin cooking the awaited dinner. Sharra called to her, "Kaneli, how's Bryce?"

  6. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Upon entering the main room and on her way to the kitchen, a voice called out to her with a question while she thought to herself,

"Bryce? Well, he has a fever it seems." Kaneli answered calmly to Sharra, "I want to get dinner ready for you all first before trying to help out with the guy- I'm going to prepare a bit of tea for him to calm down his temperature."

Kaneli gave her status report as best as she could. It wasn't bad, she thought. She felt quite handy and occupied while in this shelter, almost needed. But she shaked off some thoughts she had for a moment and looked at Storm, answering her question by pointing to where Bryce’s room was. Then proceeded into the kitchen with her bag in hand.

She began to do her magic. Natural cooking. Staying quiet for the time being.

    ----------------------------------------

Meanwhile at Bryce's room, Scott stiffly patted Bryce's hand as he began to calm down little by little. Scott began to stare into open space- eyes dilated and he sighed while his idle mind flooded vast memories inside each inch, each place of his forever deep mind.

Voices radiated in his mind. All too well. The memory of leaving home.

The feeling of not being able to come back. For reasons he couldn't help but create.

At the sound of Bryce's groaning voice echoing into the eerie silent room, Scott turned his towards Bryce- having not done so already- and squinted. Caring for strangers. Strangers that pretty much needed too much help. Urgh. Even though Scott would have loved to just ditch the handy-capped werido, , his mind was too occupied with bustling thoughts. Scott remained silent for a moment, trying to mute out any bad ideas. But as he did so, he began to mumble in Celafrite.

"Rice-ka nase du menvoski....Causte...mono sieke ka.."

His accent was completely confusing. His deep voice made it hard for anyone to understand if he spoke in front of a crowd. Celafrite was a difficult language, often requiring a very sharp accent to go along with it. But too bad for Scott. He was on his own, and probably will have to ditch his language eventually.

  7. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

"...." Devis slowly fell into a semi-depressed state at Fyuren's meer mentioning of the phrase "devil hand". A name he was so sure he'd never have to hear ever again since he fled from his home.

He leaned against the nearby wall, his head tilted towards the floor as he slowly began to ignore everything else. His eyes slowly began to lose their luster. After shoving his left hand into a pocket of his black overcoat, he began to use solely his right arm to close the steel door of the shelter. As he done so, he began to think back to the day his hand was first discovered within the city he lived, amongst his closest friends who were quick to reject him. He remembered the names he was given..

    Demon.
    Monster.
    Half human.
    Devil hand.

Fyuren will only be allowed the clothes on his back for this voyage. He will not only have to take any means to return, but he must also do it alone and with his own doing. Upon return, he must have proof of his journey. For this he will be allowed to take a simple Grindstone brand Video Journal.

Fyuren snapped awake. The journal! How could he have forgotten it! He had sent it ahead of himself as a test! If he didn't have that this entire trip will have been for nothing! It should be in the general area of his own arrival zone. He would have to look for it tomorrow, night here is too dangerous.

He arose from his chair and looked around, somewhat nervously, when he noticed Devis leaning against the wall what appeared to be some kind of trance. It seemed odd and Fyuren wondered if maybe it had something to do with his demonic hand...

Demonic hand... what a rude thing to think of. You wouldn't catch any of the guild being rude like that... get a hold of your thoughts, man, you're losing it.

He turned away from Devis and went down the primitive corridor to his primitive room...

  9. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Bryce ceased his yelling, his body slowly growing to a calm despite the fact he still let out a groan here and there. The sudden activity in his room pushed him more to consciousness, away from endless nightmares. He felt his energy begin to restore as he resisted to blast it out into the air. Like a lightbulb being switched off, Bryce's body ceased to move as it became seriously fatigued. Only the moans of pain could be heard every so often...

Stu's eyes popped awake as he resumed consciousness. He stood up and brushed himself off, then reached into his pocket to pull out... a tomato? Stu walked over to Bryce's room and firmly planted the tomato onto his door, the tomato sticking like paste onto the wall. Stu then walked in and sat in the corner, where he drew pictures on the wall with a red crayon while singing "Grand Illusion."

  10. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

The girl spoke with and held herself in such majesty and regality that Ramiro was immediately intrigued by her persona. Coyly, behind his mask, his lip curved upward into a macabre smile as the embers behind him illuminated the girl’s ghastly appearance. She seemed to have not eaten in days, and Ramiro could see the fear plainly on her face. Her unbelievable bravado and criticism of his shelter had faltered enough for him to see that she was nothing but a defenseless girl, petrified in fear of the dark. She practically begged Ramiro to let her in for the night…

Moving slightly to the side, Ramiro spoke lowly, “Come in. You can stay for the night. I am Ramiro de Luca, and my slumbering companion is called Micayla. I would be… intrigued… to hear your tale.” The same gruesome smile behind the forever-emotionless wooden mask. The same low, growling rasp of a voice. Ramiro was unsure of how this Solera would fare in this realm of endless haunts, but she could indeed prove valuable yet. He decided to take a chance with this stranger, and hoped that she would not betray his trust…

As Kaneli began to cook, Nositch could smell a wonderful aroma of meat. Having not eaten cooked food in a few days, his mouth watered slightly as that smell hit him. Hearing the groans of Bryce, he snapped out of that state. Worried, he asked a question directed at nobody in particular, not being sure who exactly to ask.

"Will that boy be okay?" he asked, his head tilted to the door now decorated with a tomato stuck there by a boy singing a rather strange song Nositch did not quite recognize. "He seems to be in quite a bit of pain."

    [hr]

Solera nodded as the masked man, Ramiro de Luca, invited her in. The wooden facepiece he wore did nothing to reveal his thoughts -- something that disturbed Solera greatly. However, she knew that this was her only option available, so she went along with it grudgingly.

As she walked under the entrance of the small shack, she was still rather unimpressed. It was not any better on the inside than it was on the outside. However, it had walls, and that was all that mattered to Solera.

Looking down, she noticed the sleeping Micayla. Feeling some strange energy from her, Solera felt somewhat uneasy, but put it off for the time being as a combination of nerves and fear. Putting her axe on the floor near the wall opposite the door, Solera looked towards Ramiro with an ambiguous look on her face. "I thank you," she said, sitting on the floor, "and my tale, well, I come from Chronopolis, the great city of the realm of Kaichrona, where I was a guard for the city. In Kaichrona, time is not an intangible concept, but almost a tangible thing. I don't know exactly how I got here, but that is not as important as my need to return."

Feeling that her tale was finished, Solera laid down on the floor of the shelter, tired from the lack of sleep she had in the past few days. Almost instantly, she fell asleep, before the witch hunter could make a reply.

  12. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

A warm smile filled Kaneli's scarlet-soft lips as she felt the counter top of the kitchen. Nice, furnished mahogany wood mounted on top of what seemed to be strong oak. As a nature girl, she rather approved of Sharra's kitchen. Natural. Shaking her head, Kaneli walked over to a drawer and pulled out a butcher knife, then slipping it into her pocket and making her way to the freezer room for some wolf meat. After coming back to the kitchen with a good helping of meat, Kaneli walked over to a small pot filled with a spicy aroma in it. It was sauce it seemed. Smelling very well like a pot of pure pleasure, Kaneli knew this would satisfy her new friends and also break the ice around here.

She then looked over to another pot which had some cinnamon tea, then she walked over and took a look.

    ------------------------------------------
Scott began to rest his head on the side of the bed as his eyes began to feel quite heavy. The silent man's expression shifted from slightly stressed to completely cumuloft and peaceful.

He dozed off shortly after, hearing radiating voices which sounded near impossible to clear out. But then, the voices began to sound more clearly in his sleep..

Sit down- I have knowledge that you know more than Celafrite, And I consider that quite impressive. So I'll be talking in MY native language if you don't mind.

Scott's eyes squished down slightly, as if he felt a little unsure and disturbed during his sleep.

We've been thrilled to have the very best of the Iriskro men back into our force- Very thrilled....but We've noticed that you've sort of slowed down in a sense. I know that 3 week break was a little rest time, but we need you to give it your all again.

But as the smell of Kaneli's dinner seeped into the room, Scott began to leave his dream world.

    Only hearing some final words..

We know you are capable of that, Private Claude...

  13. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Ramiro continued to watch the girl named Solera intently as she recounted her story, though the girl would not see the intensity of his gaze due to the impassive mask he wore atop his face. Her exact thoughts and feelings were completely beyond the grasp of Ramiro, but he patiently listened as the fire crackled, enhancing the details of her brief retelling of her own history. As she finished, Ramiro began to respond, “That is-” however, the girl was already asleep.

Ramiro was puzzled; the mannerism of this girl made him think that she was brought up in a spoiled lifestyle, yet she seemed to be able to take care of herself well enough in the harsh wasteland that was this frigid realm. He puzzled over how exhausted she had seemed, and decided to let her live for now. The ambient crackle of the fire seemed to spit upon his decision, though he silenced it with a pointed stare into its core…

With the fire tamed by Ramiro’s powers, he was once again free to his own thoughts. He gazed out of the opening of the small shelter, seeing nothing but a chilled wasteland. It was nothing short of a beautiful sight; the wind ravaging the lightest dust of snow that perpetually adorned the ground. It was a majesty that would forever amaze him. His thoughts darted throughout his mind as he wondered why the girl Solera had been directed to him by the Fates, and just who Micayla was… but he could not keep a tangible thought in his mind for more than a few seconds.

It was going to be a long night…

  14. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

The Trained Sniper had to make a great effort in order to control herself from taking her modified weapon and firing a single shot at this idiot's head to end the mental torture she, along with many others, were experiencing once and for all. Sharra was perfectly capable of doing so, and she knew her margin of error in such action would be less than three percent, but she didn't. She murmured something inaudible, glanced at the entrance to the kitchen area, and finally kept staring, almost boringly, at the rest of the room.

Devis Gurien. By just looking at him, one could easily tell something was wrong--troubling him. Sharra blinked, she had never seen the man in such a depressing state as before, and so she spoke, "Devis, you alright, there?"

  15. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Aniu continued to hover as the girl he watched from high above was permitted to enter the tent. He nodded to himself- or would have, if he was anything more than a golden light in the night sky. The spirit suddenly shot through the air, resembling a shooting star from the ground, as he searched across the stark landscape for anyone in need of aid or safe haven. The search was futile; there was nobody around. Nobody needed rescue, leaving Aniu frankly without anything to do.

He winged his way downward. The golden aura seemed to dim in the center, to be replaced with a white sort of glow... his blurry Spirit form sharpened and cleared as his Material form remanifested itself. By the time his paws his the snow, he was back to being a wolf with gold-and-white fur and the wings of some great bird. His aura wasn't as strongly vsible, but it was still there, and lit the snow with a soft golden glow, as if someone had set a lantern upon it. Aniu's clear sapphire eyes scanned the terrain around him. No sign of those abberations known as Nightmares. Perhaps he would have a peaceful night for once...

"Or perhaps I am deluding myself," The spirit muttered gruffly to himself. He sighed as he began to walk across the snow, leaving large pawprints resembling those of the arctic wolves. His ears were perked as he listened carefully for any threat or cry for help, but the broken chain attatched to the heavy collar around his neck rattled irritatingly and grated his nerves as he walked. He growled and flattened his ears as a painful memory resurfaced, but he casted it aside. Aniu paused for a minute, watching the sky he had been soaring through moments before. Shaking his head, he beat his wings twice and ascended into the sky again.

(Yay writer's block and nothing for the spirit to do)

  16. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

As if on cue, at the sound of Sharra's voice, Devis's eyes immediately regained their luster. As he suddenly left his depressed state, he violently shook his head and began to stumble away from the wall he leaned on.... and crashed head first into the wall in front of him, the collision knocking his left hand out of his pocket. He recoiled off the wall and fell onto the floor.

Gah... Devis pulled his left hand out from his pocket, and then began to use both of his hands to push himself off of the floor. Upon getting onto his feet, he turned towards Sharra. "Oh, sorry," he answered, covering his forehead with his right head. "Just had a few bad memories suddenly come back to haunt me, but I'm fine." He then began to stagger away from the steel door

  17. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Stu suddenly began to sing songs from the band Journey like a drunken bum, his voice cracking every few notes and he seemed to always be slightly off key. He stood up and wiped his hands, proud of his accomplishment.

Stu had miraculously drawn the Mona Lisa in crayon PERFECTLY on the wall, her calm smiling gaze perfectly featured. Stu walked proudly forward, then tripped and fell. Stu mumbled something, but stayed on the ground like he'd been glued.

Bryce sighed as the dark feelings rumbling through his head began to drift away, leaving him in a neutral space within himself. Then, the pictures of wolves appeared in his head, followed by a face he didn't recognize. The face smiled and disappeared, causing his buried conscious to wonder as terror flooded him.

  18. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

As the smell of the tea started to combine graciously alongside the smell of cooking meat on the 'grill' and the smell of spices cooking next to it, the silent woman let out a small sigh and looked at Storm. She briefly observed the way she cut the meat and simply felt a little more calm knowing that this girl knows what shes doing. Then a brief flashback suddenly flooded her mind. It paraded down to her deepest thoughts-- the thoughts of Beina, the little one. The time where she'd always mess up at cutting the wolf meat and other meats they'd hunt down for back in the once existent Galestien. The sorrow of thinking about a poor and innocent little girl who'd wanted nothing more than to survive alongside her tough sister filled Kaneli with small tears, suddenly. Kaneli; knowing that showing any sadness at this time was not a good thing simply wiped the incoming tear away and then walked over to get some plates.

One by one she set them out on the table. One by one her thoughts spoke.

Beina used to love Wolf seasoned spice meat....She-

Then Kaneli shook her head and placed one plate down with a small forceful slam to the table.

No no no no- stop thinking about that.

She simply walked over to the boiling spice sauce pot and grabbed it carefully. And with a quick motion, she made her way to the table and set it down right on the middle.

    -----------------------------------

    ......Scottia.......Bukowski.......Entveirgen sout....Entveirgen sout....nai...nai.....NAI......n-nai Scottia.....Militari...nai...

Scott Brita-- The silent man who slinked his way quietly among the crowd of friends stepped slowly into the mainroom where he quickly glanced at the fireplace surrounded by a decore of ice mana crystals he ever so wanted to touch. But the troubled soldier simply had no appetite for curiousity.

He simply wanted to be alone. But couldn't. Once he saw Kaneli at the table placing down the pot of sauce, he made his mysterious way next to her side.

He beheld her beauty from besides her spot. One could see that his scarlet tinted lip puckered slightly against his pearl white teeth and his gleaming emerald eyes dilated. Odds to odds- Pity love was such a changer for an Iriskran man. More than he thought, obviously.

"Uhh...Blondie," Kaneli remarked, "Mind serving each plate with a slab of wolf meat?"

Scott stood for a moment in his silence. Whether he was thinking on what she said or watching her hazel eyes sparkle, he stood there.

    She suddenly clapped. "BLONDIE!"

    "JA!"

"Finally! Quit staring and get some meat with that spatula over there, please blondie?" She laughed with a sensible tone. Calming, charming, playful despite of all. "Go on, Go on~"

Finally, Scott walked over to the grill and glanced at Storm, Smiling a hello at her through his shroud of silence and oh so mysterious wonder.

  19. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

What if it's taken? What if having a several day gap would cause arguments against the journal's credibility? I could lose everything. I may have already.

He stood up and began to pace back and forth. Get a hold of yourself. Your machine worked fine. Just examine the landing site and get the journal. But if it isn't there...

"I can't wait here!" He hurriedly left his room and came bumbling down the corridor. He entered into the main room where a wave of something delectable filled his nostrils. How long had it been since he last ate? He'd been ignoring meals; and pretty much everything else; since he'd arrived.

Calming himself, Fyuren came into the "kitchen" area. "Anything at all I could assist you with, Ma'am?" He spoke to Kaneli, the one who was so gracious enough to bring him to this, albeit primitive, shelter. She was a rather pretty girl... and for the first time, he realized how messy his hair and how scraggly his beard was...

  20. RE: Arc 0 ~ An Aurora in the Night Sky

Kaneli looked at Scott's filled up plates of wolf meat sitting on the table and lifted up a spoon which was dipped inside the spice pot and poured a red-ish spicy sauce on top of each slab. Meanwhile as that happened, Scott sat down and poked the meat with his cut up fingers. To him, this was another "trooper" moment to ingest such an atrocity. Wolf meat.
    "....Eurghhh.." He complained.

She looked at Fyuren and sighed softly, "Well, not as of now- We're done." Kaneli then looked around and then got an idea, "Well, you can sit down and eat with us."

By sitting down, she had already finished her job. Cooking. She sampled a taste of the meat and smiled, then mumbling, "I hope this gives everyone something to smile about....Sharra? Devis? Gonna come and sit with us? This meat's pretty tasty."
