Cult of Ustream ~ Official Roleplay 【Main RP Thread】

Discussion in 'Roleplay Archives' started by Keileon, Jul 27, 2012.

  1. "Obtaining the ingredients on the trek may be the wiser choice. The depth of the injury is as of yet unknown, we must not take any chances." He said, turning his attention to Starr's very obvious neck injury. It was rather hard to resist, being a vampire and all, and a very old one at that. However, it was far more trouble than it seemed to be worth, and there were animals to hunt in Ustream anyway, so he tried his hardest to not cave to his urges.

He stopped. A mental image -- from crazE's perspective, no less -- wormed its way across the infinitesimally large expanse that was his mind. Something was very wrong inside the Hill. crazE had taken the fall for his plan. He had to address the misunderstanding as soon as possible, before the situation got any worse. Handing Starr to Kyton, he turned around to face the monolithic structure that was Starr's Hill Lab. "Kyton, I have urgent matters that need addressing. Take Starr to my house by the lake -- it should be just a short jaunt through the forest -- I will meet you there." He faced the lab, making mental contact with Espira. Let him be. Your quarrels lie with me, not Alexander.

  2. The next thing crazE knew, he was on the ground. Grass buds writhed against his face as he attempted in any way to try and stand. For now, as he assumed, it was hopeless. However, being able to slightly turn himself to look back, he had been able to judge what had happened as his vision cleared and the fog overpassing his mind left. With him laying a few yards from Espira, and his spine sending constant signals of utmost agony, he deduced the girl had given a cheap shot to him, directly into his back in an effort to debilitate him.

For now, at least, it worked.

CrazE let out an agonized groan as he gripped the grass under him, feeling a slight rage build. How dare she? The first thing she does after helping the cult is now strike them? CrazE slowly pulled himself- or at least his face- up off the ground, stilling feeling the constant shivers of impact. CrazE thanked his brother so much his body was at least genetically modified, for despite the strike, his bones held firm. A benefit from exploding. His body was made to take shock impact. Slowly, he rose, gently bending his spine upward to become erect, hopefully that nothing would suddenly go wrong in that process as well. His eyes met with the crimson devil's, glaring with defiance. "So, first you come with Shadow and say you must protect him, but now you involve yourself and thrust yourself into cult affairs and cult punishment? Just who do you think you are? What gives you right? Your power, your skill?" crazE scoffed, shaking his head as his voice deepened. "Of all that's happened, I think you've become the biggest danger here. You need to stand down while you are in cult territory. While you are with us."

In the distance, a voice cackled, seemingly gleeful in a sense.

  3. He didn't know whether he had exploded from the surprise or not, but a quick observation around him said no.

For now, at least, his withholding from his immediate instinct worked again.

While you are with us." CrazE's fists tightened as a dim glowing began to illuminate in his clenched hands. She thinks she can control this place? We'll just see.

In the distance, a voice cackled, seemingly gleeful in a sense. "They are as the bickering infidels they think they aren't." Darkside coughed with amusement. It was only a matter of time, he thought. He could feel the pulsations of darkness dwelling within all of the cultists' hearts, and he could feel them growing. How, he didn't know, but he didn't care. It was simply too much enjoyment.

Valerie looked up at the woman before her, a look of concern coming over her for this person. She seemed obviously angry, but also sad, crushed even. The situation was now less on her as she focused on Gaga, slightly hefting the twins a little as her thoughts began to form. Slowly, she kneeled down, setting the twins down gently into the smooth grass. Sitting down comfortably herself, she pulled the kids close and looking up at Gaga. "Say uhm... would you like to help me take care of these two?..." Valerie asked with innocent inquiry. Something to at least distract the woman as she was now. The twins themselves weren't in the greatest mood whatsoever, making her sympathetically cuddle Ringo and Rye close to her for a moment to help them calm.

  4. In what way so? she mentally shot back at the Demigod as soon as his own thoughts resonated, once again, into phantom words inside her mind, knowing that he would indeed receive her message. Espira did not further this sharp question, however, as her immediate target was crazE. The Crimson Meister felt her hand, bloody reinforcement already liquefying, loosen up as she stationed herself by the door, watching crazE agonizingly recover from her assault.

"Of all that's happened, I think you've become the biggest danger here." his words were brave. Perhaps foolishly so. Her voice countered, somehow stronger, even though she had not varied in tone or intensity whatsoever, "Listen, moron. And do listen well. Your brash move, as great of an heroic mockery it had been, could have resulted in collateral damage, and even several deaths. No, not just yours. You believe you hold a great knowledge of the subject, is that right? You would have screamed tragedy in the event your mate would have been... brutally massacred, yes." she practically spat this, savoring her own venomous edge at the choice of words, "It was, after all, a tragedy I spared you from. Though most definitely not for you. You should be grateful she is alive."

Espira stepped into the open, analytic gaze as cold as the harshest winters of Boreana scanning the surroundings before her eyes settled on the soft, nearly unnoticeable glow of crazE's hands. She smiled, a soft curving of lips nearly overflowing with maliciousness, but also in amusement. "Now, it would be vastly beneficial for you if such idiocy were to be... restrained next time."

Horridly pointed icicles took form of her warning, "Do not get in my way again."

  5. I am behind Alexander's assault on Vale. I ordered the distraction. If there is any one man you should take up your claim with, it is me. Jude responded, fully aware of what could come of his admittance to crazE's actions. I understand he is quite irritating at times, but ask him about it. He will most likely echo my words, if he does not feel the need to provide unnecessary cover for my actions. I will, in turn, fully understand any action you take against me, as I am the one who deserves it.

  6. Gaga blinked, bewildered by Valerie's request. Although she remained silent with her doubts in mind at first, those rose eyes of hers slowly connected with Ringo's watery pools of gray. They were sad and lonely, scared beyond reason. It was as if she were looking into the eyes of her former, infant self as a reflection of sorts. The memories and sorrow of a forgotten soul not regarded as "worthy" of basic human comfort and companionship. Gripping the handle of her sword more firmly, the Soon-to-be Finlandian Empress bit her lip in deep thought. Never have I given comfort to...a child....what can I do..? I've never experienced it- what if..what if my comfort is ineffective to the child- no...children..?

    To hell with this..

She gave a brief nod, walking closer to the child while her pale fingers wrapped around the handle tighter like a boa claiming it's catch. It was hard enough that she was being asked to comfort a child, but it was harder knowing that she couldn't say no. Out of all the wishful saviors of my time...neither one of them ever answered my silent plea....neither one.. Finally, she reached out and let her free hand caress Ringo's wet cheek, the empress herself struggling to keep a smile on while the little baby boy ceased to wildly wimper. Rye, on the other hand, kept her small head on Valerie's shoulder. "S-Sure....they can't be left alone to..well..suffer without their parents around, can they..?"

With a weakened groan, Starr moved around slightly in Jude's arms as she heard Jude offer Kyton to take her to Jude's home. Of course, she rose her brow slightly while she patted Jude's shoulder and attempted to nod. "J-Jude..?"Coughing, Starr's voice seemed a bit scratchy and crude. Perhaps it was the injury. "Yo-You mind getting my twins and CrazE..? I...I don't want them left alone without me..Not while I'm in this p-petty situation..." Barely managing to move her neck, Starr's attention slightly shifted on Kyton. Hearing how quick he was to assist made Starr smirk ever-so slightly. Quick to react....Heh...a Shapeshifter's trait never goes short around here, doesn't it..

  7. "Um." This was all Kyton could say before Jude handed Starr to him. He carried the woman's weight easily- another advantage to soldier life- but raised an eyebrow at the demigod. He'd need both arms to carry Starr, which meant he wouldn't be able to collect the plants to actually treat the bruises. "Jude, I'm going to need a free hand to actually get the needed items..." He pointed out, in case the demigod could not immediately pick up the thought with Kyton's guard still up.

His yellow irises now looked at Starr, gaze passing over her face and locking onto the wounded neck. The formerly curious, slightly worried light in his eyes quickly faded and snapped into an analytical gaze, the eyes of someone trained to notice, recognize, and analyze wounds with one look. Nasty wound. Surprised her windpipe wasn't crushed... He nodded, both to himself and to Starr. "Alright well, I've got enough skill and knowledge to treat those bruises. Soon as I get the plants needed for the salve." He glanced at Jude for a moment, then sidled off towards the forest with Starr in his arms.

  8. CrazE narrowed his eyes, his teeth clenching slightly. His fists were now as lightbulbs. "Do you even fathom what it is to work together?" CrazE exclaimed with fire in his voice. "You think you can come here and act on your own like this, expecting to baby and control the cult and its issues like it's your problem, and yours only? Do you even fathom any sort of relationship, any sort of acknowledgement of any other person around you? Or are you perfect as you are, you don't need anyone?" CrazE shook his head, poison on his tone. "You do not deserve to be here, let alone call yourself a part of this place. You act on your own, you think on your own, and you certainly demand on your own terms. You are not teamwork material, you are not cult material." CrazE kept the stern gaze, unwavering from the mocking view of the Crimson Meister. "You are the biggest danger because you act on your own. You are the biggest danger to this group by your very own rogue actions, so I suggest you not stick around here anymore or keep shoving yourself into every situation. The cult fared fine before you appeared, the cult fares fine, and will be fine. Or are you here to try and force your way to the top?"

With a blur of white, a figure appeared in the space between both crazE and Espira. His mind was reeling with the dramatic change in both crazE's and, astonishingly, in Espira's as well. He could feel the wrong that was happening, literally looking at what was happening. "What is going on?" Darius exclaimed, however in a completely melodic and calm voice. His stance shifted toward crazE slightly, seeming to focus on him. CrazE remained silent, motioning his head over to Espira as he soother his palms to a soft glow. Darius, shaking his head, looked over at Espira. "What is going on here, Espira?"

  9. CrazE continued rambling, and, frankly, at this point, Espira would not have cared whether he was verbally bashing her own existence or vehemently attempting to prove her way of being wrong. "Do you even fathom what it is to work together?" No, she recalled, brief glimpses of memories trailing, but there were few. After all, her style of approach was not built around this "teamwork" crazE passionately dreamt of. Espira had accomplished this, to some extent however, with the Diclonius and her sister's squadron... She gritted her teeth, but unnoticeably so. His voice suddenly disjointed itself from the background, "The cult fared fine before you appeared, the cult fares fine, and will be fine."

This almost elicited a cold, derogatory laugh from Espira. Her features reassembled into the merciless frigidity of her neutral, uncaring, unsympathetic expression. Her voice would have torn the condensed tension asunder with immaterial will if it happened to have physical form, "I do not give a fuck."

"I have to ask you, then, where the remnant of a family you have would be if I did not happen to be there on time?" Espira shot back, question laced with streaks of the harshest acid possible--condescending truth. Blunter than she originally expected, but she was not going to back down at this point. Espira had indeed realized how close she had been grazing the edge of danger for the past few minutes, "Allow me to answer: they would be probably buried by now." She indeed had broken the stalemate, on the roof of the Cult Headquarters, one fateful Black Assassin's night, "My patience for you is running short-"

Her eye twitched in annoyance. "What is going on here, Espira?" She had had enough interruptions for such a ridiculously short span of time. Profoundly red irises glared into the blindfold shielding his phantom glass'. "Nothing that concerns you."

"Are you actually willing to enforce these statements and apparent codes of conduct upon me? Or are you simply going to stand there like the moron you still are, fed by nonsensical anger?" Focusing into existence, Espira continued from her new position. Due to the small distance between her current and target locations, the motion was practically an optical teleportation. The Crimson Meister stood from a new angle--the space between crazE and her unchanging--but without the meddlesome Darius in the way. "Brave words, but nonexistent actions. Congratulations, you are an hypocrite. I would like to see you try."

"Come at me, witness the result,"
"I guarantee you will be disillusioned."

  10. It is complicated. Put simply, Alexander's actions were merely a distraction set forth by me, though I did not intend for side effects such as these to occur. I hope we can take this up with dignity at a later time. For now, I must help Kyton attend to Pricilla's injury. He responded, before linking with crazE once more, Alexander, have you seen the twins? Pricilla does not want to be bedridden without them knowing. He then turned to Kyton again, simply saying, "Change of plan. I shall come with you and collect the ingredients you require." He hoped Kyton got his message -- after all, there was no telling whether Espira would listen to him and at least attempt to resolve matters in a civil fashion. He then stood silent for a moment -- at least, silent to many -- and contacted Jack. Jack, you may make yourself visible. As with Alexander, meet me at my house. Jack simply nodded in response, and became visible. After this, Jude motioned the two to follow him through the forest and began walking, Jack following briskly behind him.

  11. CrazE tightened his fists, although a hilarious smile appeared on his face. "Are you truly so stuck into yourself that you immediately place yourself above everyone? All you love is yourself. You do not help out of good will, you help out of the fun of destruction." CrazE shifted his attention distantly to Darius, then shook his head. "And even now that's all you wish for once someone challenges your supposed iron fist. You may as well grow a dick, because that's all you shove in everyone's face." With a shift in stance into a smug, mocking nonchalant lean, he stared over at the vicious meister that put herself so high into power. "You mock the cult here and now, and yet you place yourself like you belong here. So what are you going to choose: defy this group, or be a part of it?"

Darius felt the very tension, the shifting and thrashing of emotions, as if some force had been pressed against both of them tenfold, compressing their emotions into a small box and about to burst. He had never expected such things as this to escalate to this degree, especially between these two. He knew that crazE was not... well, the best person to be social with in terms of serious conversation, but it was astonishing how this girl, who he had respected, was nothing more than taunting and playing off to get this violence. As he saw the shift of Espira's aura, he too blurred, now closer but not so much in the way to barrier and cause a confrontation. If he could, he needed to stop this violence before it got out of hand. There had been too much of it in the past days, it simply wasn't the time, nor the place. With a beckoning hand toward Espira, Darius looked through his bandage, straight into her soul. "Espira, this is not you," he stated clearly, his voice like a smooth blade through water. "You have a higher honor to uphold yourself. Do not become an animal to the taste of blood, not like this. All of us do not want this, just as we did not want the black assassin. Do not lower yourself to simply get the better of others." While slowly saying this in his usual smoothing voice, Darius' fingers twitched ever so slightly, twitching and twirling in a miniscule, almost undetectable fashion. Through the eyes of Darius, one could see he works, however.

Espira's aura swirled and slowed as Darius worked, taking the advantage of her rage that loosed her feelings to be able to shape and shift what was released. With every flick of his fingers, he attempted to patch this destruction to her "cool". Little by little, hopefully he could tame the beast that Espira hid, up until now that is. He needed time, however, and with the constantly escalating heat of battle increased, it seemed dim he could do too much of a help. But anything was better than what would be foretold of the poison spat, the anger rising, the violence raging. So, in an effort to keep normality, Darius kept his fingers twitching swiftly, pushing and pulling and shifting the raging aura of the Crimson Meister.

Jude, I know you can hear me, for I doubt you withhold your psychic abilities from the immediate area. Retrieve crazE while you can, because neither of them will back down, and neither of them will let the other get the best of either. We want the lesser of the two situations, and I can only distract for so long. I fear it's too late anyway, but we must do something.

Valerie looked up at Gaga, then down at Rye who was snuggled up against her. They were in pain, and truly were not in any condition to be away from their mother. But what were they to do? She had no idea where to find Starr, let alone would she want to go back into that house while Vale was in his psychotic state of mind. It felt like a stalemate, something she severely wished against. "W-Well I..." she started, sighing, "I don't think I want to go back into that house.. I-I saw the look in Vale's eyes... they... they were vicious..." she shivered as if a blizzard had shifted over her in that instant, closing her eyes to push the thought away. His eyes were black as death, black as the assassin's vizor...

Quickly she pulled Rye and Ringo close, anything that could suddenly divert her thought from it. There was too much, too much of this contention and violence and pain... now she only wished she could return to Earth, if only she had a place to be back there...

  12. kill him

"And, after all, your best ability seems to be blurting out these childish replies. I am honestly not surprised." her voice gracefully tore more wounds upon the clash of beliefs that Darius surreptitiously tried to contain and repair, liquid tension flowing out continuously like blood, enveloping the three--not just Espira and crazE now--in even tighter, denser imaginary layers. And, through all of this, the Crimson Meister remained astonishingly composed. Tone's audible variance that could be normally attributed to a certain point of anger was completely nonexistent; the gelid edge instead persisted, like a spire of absolute zero amidst an endless abyss, "You are worthless. The question here is, how much more failure can you withstand displaying? You were a failure against the Black Assassin, a hostage, target."

    kill him

"You are a failure of a parent, choosing to stay here whilst holding petty arguments against me." her glare blazed, charring forth an intense path as her irises minutely focused, once again, on the nonexistent gaze where Darius' eyes should have been. Smoldering power transposed itself into the material world, barely noticeable as the presence took form of a trail, which snaked out of her left eye into an infinitesimal amount of intangible red energy which quickly disintegrated in the air. She blinked once, nonchalantly, vision darting back to the increasingly-agitated crazE.

    kill him

Words sunk upon crazE like prominent fangs, seeping out lethal venom which was soon to be completely assimilated by him in the form of another of his reactions. It did not matter. When she smiled again, lips contorting into a twisted representation bearing macabre will, one could clearly tell something was wrong. "You, too, are a failure of a man. One overflowing with meaningless words, lacking the courage to exert one's will into actions. You are a fucking coward." the following laugh was brief. Hollow. Malicious. The foreign thought took form. "But then again... obviously there is not much one can do when incompetence plagues them like a disease."

    as soon as he replies

Jude stopped dead. Though this'd be the second time he'd flip-flopped, he knew he'd have little choice, lest the mess escalate into crazE becoming a murder victim. He had to do something. Thinking quickly, he responded, I will have Jack go with Kyton in my stead. I have already told Espira to leave Alexander out of this argument, as his actions were entirely my fault. As of this point, I have no choice but to step in myself. He turned to Jack, worry visible in his watery-blue eyes. "I apologise for the second change of plan, but if I allow the argument inside the Hill behind us to go on unsolved much longer, someone may end up dead. Jack, go forth with Kyton to my house. Pick every plant he tells you to." Jack looked at him, an air of utter confusion about him, "What in God's name is it now?" "I have not the spare moments at my disposal to offer further insight on the matter. Just go." Jude replied, turning around again towards the door of the Hill. He needed to act fast, otherwise crazE would fall into Espira's trap hook line and sinker. Alexander, stand down! This has no positive outcomes for you! Realising that there was a low chance of crazE listening, being the stubborn fool that he is, he bolted for the door.

Jack simply stared on in disbelief. What was going on in there?

  14. Kyton looked on as Jude announced his change in plans. A few seconds of him uncomfortably shifting his footing- Starr wasn't very heavy, at least to him, but carrying a person was always rather awkward. He flicked his eyes to hers for an instant to assure himself the girl was still conscious, then to the neck bruising, and finally to Jack and Jude as the latter sped away. Kyton raised an eyebrow at the lycan still with him, yellow irises mirroring Jack's confusion at exactly what was going on in the hill lab.

"I have to wonder what's happening back there to make Jude speed off like that." The shapeshifter looked off deeper into the forest, in the general direction of the lake. His face took a worried expression before Kyton shook his head. "Well, we don't have the time to be worrying about it right now." Glancing back at Jack, he started to continue on his path. "Can't lose time. Come on, I'll tell you what to pick up on the way there."

  15. "..Now...don't say that-- Vale's a good man..hes-" With her voice lowering, Gaga pulled away slightly and looked below her. A very disappointed look covered her face like a mask. "He is just...misunderstood...believe me, hes a very considerate man if you get to know him better. Even though he may look cold on the outside..his core is very warm deep down.."

With the bickering escalating to the point where it became merely a show of strength, Ivan's eyes flickered to and fro between Espira and CrazE. A glimmer of entertainment glazed over his odd eyes which normally would have remained emotionless if there wasn't anything that caught his attention. However, one thought came through his mind just as he removed his finger from his ear after an apperant conversation. Was it wise to allow Starr to stay in Ustream with these people? Surely enough, he crossed his arms after weighing in the pros and cons. Pro's being that they had skill, cons being that they didn't have character to support said skills. They used their ability as prizes to apperantly shove into eachother's faces like school kids. Yet, it brought the general some form of twisted entertainment. Really to the point where he felt his mind feeding off the invisible stream of intense psyche each of them let out. His inner voice within his complex mind gave out a telepathic chuckle, Lamentable...I would have expected more honor out of these gifted teenagers than I expect from a bag of stones. Unfortunate that I feel entertained by their chauvinistic display rather than pity.

Starr uncomfortably shifted in Kyton's arms just as she felt an intense sting of pain spread across her wounded neck. Breathing at this point began to seem like a chore to her. Unbearable pain, unbearable anxiety, and of course...unbearable feelings of embarrassment. Starr definitely wasn't the fan of being the one in trouble. And she wasn't a fan of being woman-handled, either. No matter how bad the situation got, Starr remained silent and to herself. Keeping her gaze away from Kyton as she attempted to distract herself from the pain and overall shame of being injured by spotting anything that caught her interest. And so the royale serpent looked to the sky causally and thought to herself,

    Oh look, a cloud.

  16. Darius made a minute stumble as he felt an overwhelming energy leak from Espira's focused gaze. It was practically astonishing as Darius felt the energy- of which he could not decipher- pass almost unnoticed like a scent in the wind. But Darius caught it easily, and immediately his composure was startled. What was Espira hiding? What would happen if this were to escalate further?...

    Apparently he'd get the answer.

It was surprising how easy it was right now for crazE to so easily escalate in anger, to ignore who he was facing and why he was facing this girl. As Espira spat at him words of poison, words purely for instigation, purely to incite combat for the sake of combat, crazE's fists glowed powerfully, obviously holding pent up energy. Slivers of smoke and little flames could be seen coursing out the spaces between his fingers, the gaps in his palms as he held with all his might. But he wasn't going to hold them long; he wasn't going to listen to this girl who thought so highly of herself, who thought she could call on his iniquities when she had plenty of her own.

But he wasn't going to hold them long; he wasn't going to listen to this girl who thought so highly of herself, who thought she could call on his iniquities when she had plenty of her own. It only fueled the power he was holding back, fueling his wrath to strike out...

A blink of light, a surge of energy, and suddenly crazE's form collapsed to the ground, his hands dimming dramatically before returning to normal. Darius' two fingers slowly fell back to his side, an energy sparking back into his body as he looked down at the incapacitated Explosion Master. A barely visible spike of energy was protruding from his neck, transparent to those who could not decipher energies clearly just by eye. However, the energized spike seemed to completely bypass any physical injury, for it left no indentation of the skin or any wound of any sort. CrazE lay still, motionless, occasionally writhing as he attempted to grunt out his demand of release. Darius simply shook his head, looking back at Espira with his continued blank stare, emotionless expression making up the rest of his features. He said nothing for quite a span, keeping his stature firm as he kept barrier between Espira and the felled crazE. Then, with a sigh, he shrugged and turned away.

Then, with a heave, Darius hoisted the Explosion Master onto his shoulder, looking back only once toward Espira before walking away.

  18. Over. CrazE's body instantly collapsed into a crumpled heap, which in turn interrupted the dangerous overflow of energy which would most certainly trigger a hostile reaction. From both him and Espira, of course, since she was most certainly ready to gouge out his entrails with--she stopped. Vision refocusing into an unaugmented reality, her eyes--deathly glare fading already--immediately shifted to her right hand, and she found herself staring at a claw. Reds hued the gauntlet as trickling blood dripped from their cruel, sharpened digits in a residual flow. The Crimson Meister exhaled sharply, producing a sound which resembled an exasperated hiss.

If Darius would not have been there... Just what event would have befallen by her own hand?

"Tch. Useless." she concluded with a voice which was almost a mutter, and although she maintained a phantom sort of visual contact with Darius, her expression was unreadable while her own eyes seemed... troubled. Finally, as the Explosion Master was silently carried away, she tightly clutched her weaponized hand.

Shard after shard fell into the paralyzed blades of grass.

    -----~---~---~-----

Shadow resorted to pacing around the lush expanse of field surrounding the Sky Serpent's, Starr's, Hill Laboratory. He , or at least a certain portion of him, was relieved that the entire event had been successfully neutralized, and that he was also finally able to exit the building and welcome the morning sun stationed in the heavens above, and the fresh air circulating throughout the region. These type of situations always seemed to incite a instant desire to simply leave the area, but not without reason as his innate extrasensory was perfectly capable of detecting the strain forced within... and that certainly was not a pleasant experience when it happened. He sighed.

The Diclonius had caught a glimpse of Starr as the newcomer with eccentric hair--Kyton, was it?--dashed with her nearly limp body in his arms towards the nearby forested area. He nearly panicked, but his own logic quickly maneuvered his mind by remembering that there was no particular reason for that to happen, given Espira saved her from imminent death... though the fact her neck was externally damaged still remained. Shadow did not bother following him either--he did not completely trust him (even though it was true that he was too trusting in overall, as having been told multiple times), and he doubted he could manage to catch up before getting lost... or something.

He shrugged off the thought, and hoped the day would not hold more unpleasant surprises...

  20. THUD.

There it was. Though faint, crazE's tumble to the ground didn't go unnoticed even though Jude didn't hear it. Instead, he noticed a gap in crazE's conscious thoughts as Darius knocked him out. Curious, he reached out to Darius for an explanation of what had just happened, Darius, is Alexander well? I seem to have lost conscious contact with him. He did so more out of concern for Starr and the twins than crazE; though that's not to imply he wasn't concerned for crazE's own welfare. He merely did not want the twins to be without a father and Starr to be alone in her time of need. He paced, mainly on the spot, until such a time as Darius was available to answer him in full.

Meanwhile, in the forest, Jack was still awaiting Kyton to point out what needed to be picked up to formulate the salve for Starr's neck injury. Looking to him, Jack posed the question, "So, what do I need to get? Is it possible to find it on our way to Jude's house?" He glanced about, thinking about something. "You know, I don't think I've ever been inside Jude's house before. I only ever remember looking across the lake at it."
