  1. --- Into the Storm "Thunder Cage" ---

    Day 71 of Year Gap

    8:30 am

A blazing sun lazily rose into the azure sky over Ustream, its warm light revealing what the shadows of the night had concealed and chasing away the twin moons slowly sinking into the western horizon. The mountain ranges that "protected" the virtual wilderness in the north, east, and south cast their intimidating shadows on the ground befow. The verdant forests gleamed in the morning light even as the trees faded into grassland, and finally coast. Nestled on the plains, between two rivers, was Cult HQ.

The imposing building stood by itself, despite the colosseum to the north and two laboratories near the stronghold of the Cult of Ustream. However, the building showed clear damage, despite some having obviously been repaired. While the cultists would normally have been within HQ, groggily waking up from sleep and beginning their "duties" in the cult, most were staying elsewhere until repairs had finished.

It was certainly not what Kyton had expected when he'd arrived.

The 19-year-old, yellow-eyed shapeshifter sat under a tree with a small notebook and what looked like a quill pen, furiously scribbling something down while occasionally lifting his head and listening intently. His iridescent green hair tousled slightly in the breeze as he suddenly snapped the notebook shut. "Interesting group," He muttered, but nothing more. Looking around furtively, he stowed the notebook and quill into his pocket and wandered around the edge of the forest. He expected the others to rise soon, although Jason was probably already awake, hunting down his breakfast... which Kyton thought he should do, but not now. He wished to wait, perhaps meet some of the others that he hadn't the day before...

  2. At the southern tip of the Eastern Forest, the crimson armored wyvern Grodisflare laid asleep under a tree. On the back of the dragon was his master and friend, Lord X-Giga-X. Already relatively awake, he looked at a small, shack-like building just a few feet away. The home of the old, human scientist, Aegis. His miscolored eyes seemed to glare at it. Again, this old man should really leave Ustream... Either that, or build a bigger place to live. This place is a dump. He fell out of thought as he suddenly felt the movement of Grodisflare as he slowly woke up. Lord X-Giga-X rubbed the armored wyvern's head. "Morning, Grodis."

"Morning, Giga..." Grodisflare looked up at the shadowimperist sitting upon his back. His head suddenly turned toward the house, as did Lord X-Giga-X, curious as to what Grodisflare was looking at. The two of them watched as a raven flew out of one of the windows of the house and toward the two of them, landing on the branch of the tree they were sleeping under. The raven then slowly shifted into the human form of the clone of Jason Shaver, Erahvs.

"Hey guys!" The shapeshifter clone leapt from the branch, landing a few feet away from the two of them. "So umm... yeah..." he nervously began to ask the two of them, Not that I have any problem with you two staying here, but uh... when are you gonna go back to the lab?"

"Most likely when repairs are done and things finally return to relative normality." Lord X-Giga-X said these words in a rather annoyed and tired tone. The fact was that while he wished to be back at his lab beginning work on his experiments, with repairs to HQ going on, he would have no time to do so. That, and he'd probably would avoid helping the cult with repairs if he did stay in his lab, and he pretty much knew he had no choice but to help.

  3. As the morning sun rose above the majestic forests of Ustream, a rather grand building was highlighted in a slight silhouette -like shadow above a hill near headquarters. What a long night of work and annoyance, some would say while the tender beams of light would slink into their rooms through the open windows of that hours. The planet’s signal to awaken it’s people was strong- interrupting lengthened dreams or simply reminding those who don’t sleep another day cycle had come. Some people of the hill-home, however, wouldn’t even call it a long night either. It was a rather scattered opinion altogether.

Peaking open a coffee-brown eye while the sun filled the master bedroom up was Starr, the head-resident and medic of the barren land. Slowly, she blinked a couple of times while shifting around in her bed, feeling the sheets pull away from her form slowly. “Mmmph.…” Starr whispered then after, pulling herself up in an upright position and yawning, looking around the room and then looking down at CrazE next to her. The young woman could feel her stitches still as she was still slightly injured, however, upon taking up another yawn….her stitches or rather- her whole being in general was rattled by a loud cry by an infant.

“….Come on Starr, get up and don’t be lazy…it’s another day, another…” Starr groaned and yawned once more, shaking her sleeping partner next to her. “…Get-” She yawns again. “-Up.”

  4. crazE groaned as he felt someone shove at him, curling up slightly. It felt way to early. He exhales, his eyes perking to the sound of crying. Immediately his hazel eyes- more green than anything- shot open, causing him to slowly pull himself up. "Mph... what..." he called out, then looking about with slowly drooping groggy eyes. His gaze rested upon the form of his mate, whom which he smiled slightly upon locking eyes with her. "Well, I see someone-" His attention was immediately averted as he heard the cry again, grabbing his head with an exasperated sigh and slowly pulling down on his face with a tired grunt. "Aw man... Am I gonna have to do it?" he asked Starr, shaking his head as he slowly stretches and yawns.

Meanwhile, in a room to her own down the hall, a young girl lay in a blissful sleep. As the morning rays gently touch upon her smooth, tanned skin, her eyes fluttered open, looking about the room from her side angle on the bed. She then stretched slightly while laying, letting out a soft exhale and a smile at the warmth of the sun upon her while she lay. A new day. With a soft shove against the pillow, the small girl pulled herself slowly to a sitting position, rubbing her eyes a her blanket cascaded down her lithe side slowly. It was a good day. Gently, she pressed her soft feet to the ground, feeling the slight coldness and only flinching a moment before she stood up, pulling the blanket completely off her form and tossing it back. This night she had adorned herself with a thin pink nightgown which cut at little frills at her knees, slightly billowing as she grabbed a towel and personal hygienic items and made her way to the door. She had made a mental note where the bathroom was, so even with her sleepy stroll she would be able to find her way without bumping into the unfamiliar structure she was currently staying in. Her footsteps were soft, very silent as she clicked open her door, peaking out with slightly squinted eyes, then slowly heading out into the hallway.

  5. Starr gets up slowly, hearing the cries of her little girl Rye radiate through the room loudly. It was unusually early for her or rather anyone to wake up at this hour. This wasn't right. Looking over at CrazE, Starr mumbles at him while he complained about his fatherly duties. "Honey, if-"

Silence. Not a single cry was heard once she started speaking. Starr's mind completely went blank upon that moment, causing her to get her open the door and look back at CrazE. "...Shit!"

  6. CrazE stood up, his alertness now completely up as he looked over at Starr. Dressed in boxers only, he swiftly pulled over to Starr, whispering, "What's going on?" His voice kept a solid and stern tone, his muscles tensed to any sound, any voice, any movement. He followed Starr to the door across to theirs, feeling his fists tighten threateningly as he awaited to see what would be on the other side causing the strangeness of the situation. If anything were to be happening with his twins...

Valerie stopped as she saw both Starr and CrazE exit from their rooms and proceed across to the door across theirs, freezing as if caught doing something. "U-Uhm..." she started as if to try and explain herself, however, her attention stayed focused on the actual scene at hand. Was something wrong with the twins?... Her stroll toward the bathroom had been immediately halted, her gaze attentive to what could be happening. She squeezed her towel tight as her mind fluttered over memories of the recently destroyed assassin, making her pale. Could it be?...

Meanwhile, far from the home, a man sat cross-legged, his body completely rigid in a sat-up position. His bandaged stare gazed off into nothing as his bandaged hands rested firmly upon his knees. A slight breeze blew by, ruffling the man's surprisingly white hair and billowed at the tied off parts of the bands about his arms and the back of his head as he sat motionless, not even perturbed by the sounds going about him. Then, the figure finally moved, a sudden inhale causing him to break the rigidness, then an exhale completely destroying the locked pose as his body relaxed. It had been very recently that he had since been mutilated by the robotic mechanism, and for now, he simply wished to come back in contact with life. He could still feel the immense pain of the still-recovering genetic implant that had once been a void in his midsection, but he paid no mind. Pain was simply a reminder of the body of something wrong, and he need only listen to it once. With one more inhale, he stopped halfway, resuming the rigid position as his senses stretched far out across the region.

  7. "I don't know..." Starr whispered back, then opened the door to her children's nursery with angst. Thoughts- bad thoughts rattled her mind like a box of beans. The thought that maybe the twins might be in trouble, the thought that maybe Iv- No, no no no. He couldn't be there. Looking into the room after the door was opened, Starr exhaled with a sudden relief.

In front of her was the Scarlet Gunsliger holding little Rye. Her small infant form resting upon his shoulder. It appeared that Vale had barely woken up as well, he only had a white shirt on and boxers to cover. Without even turning his head, his scarlet eyes slowly darted at Starr. Even with his hand patting the baby's back soothingly, his eyes were as bleak as ever. Endless.....bloody red.

"...Eurgh.." Vale whispered, finally turning his head to Starr. It looked like he barely slept but...he didn't mind. Vale somehow enjoyed taking care of small children; Especially Rye.

Starr chuckled, giving a relieved look at CrazE. "O-Oh...well...heh...thanks for tending to her.." Upon saying that, Vale suddenly appeared in front of Starr, handing the little child to her arms.
    "She still smells."

  8. "I still don't get it. Why stay here at this mess of a home and not with the others at Starr's place? I mean, wouldn't th-" Erahvs stopped as he noticed Lord X-Giga-X wordlessly giving him a scowl. "... Oh right... nevermind..."

Deciding not to stay in his lab for the time being, Lord X-Giga-X had a few options for places for him to tempoarily stay. Starr's hill lab was out of the question, as he hated the sky serpents living there. There was the castle in the northern mountains that once belonged to the dracoimperist Drake Kuro, but that was too far away. The colosseum, albeit close to HQ, was not a comfortable place to sleep in. As for Jude's place, he considered the thought... but then realized he can't really trust the man to stay out of his head. So he decided to stay at Aegis's place with Erahvs and the old man's enigmatic assistant.

"Well, I think we should get going," Erahvs suggested, giving off a sudden yawn. "Like now."
"What about old man? Grodis gruntingly asked, looking back to the house.
    "Don't worry. He's still asleep."
"Good. Let's get back to HQ before the old man wakes up then." Erahvs began to climb onto Grodisflare's back, but stopped as he sharply turned toward a nearby tree. Lord X-Giga-X and Grodisflare turned toward the tree as a voice soon came from behind it.

"Maybe I should come with you this time..."

  9. It didn't take terribly long for Kyton to catch the cult leader's scent, a distant rustle and pounding footsteps that signalled a chase. He should learn to disguise his presence more, The lime-haired shapeshifter thought to himself. He yawned, and stayed in human form as he trotted to where the footsteps and rustling had ended with a crack and a thud.
    ----------
The black wolf growled at the deer in its final death struggle. Jason's jaws were clamped arond the back of its neck, an awkward angle, but it was a hold nonetheless. The only problem was the deer refused to die. Urgh, I'm trying to save you pain, you idiotic hooved beast, Jason thought irritably, snarling as he tried to get to the throat. The deer bucked, until finally the onyx fur hardened and shifted into scales- what was once a wolf was now a black-and-silver Darkwing Firedrake.

The dragon flicked its head, easily breaking the deer's neck. Much better. Dropping the deer from his jaws, Jason lifted his head and looked around, sure he'd heard something on foot approaching... but was distracted by the shadow that flew above him. The bright copper-gold Plated Firedrake Mimring Thunderscale- Jason's Familiar- circled once, twice, before flying out of sight. Jason knew through the link that the dragon had landed and was approaching.

It's just the newcomer. Mimring's voice came through the psychic link, slightly disgruntled. Jason didn't understand why the dragon didn't seem to like Kyton, and sighed at the thought.

He's been here for all of a day. Reserve your judgement. The only response was a snort.

  10. "Maybe I should come with you this time..." A strange, sepia-haired man sidestepped from behind the tree. The man stood at about 5'11", had grey eyes, and wore the most unusual clothing. And that's saying a lot, considering what most of the other people in Ustream wore on an everyday basis. Just looking at a man wearing a bathrobe, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of gray slippers would probably make one think that the man was dressed to sleep in. Although, with the tired look on his face, that may in fact have been the case. The sight of this man caused Erahvs to smack his face with the palm of his hand, but for a different reason entirely.

"... Oh right... I forgot to check Smeremus..." Erahvs muttered irritably.
"Maybe some other time, Smeremus." Lord X-Giga-X swiftly pointed a finger at the house. "As much as I'd like you to actually meet the cult, I don't trust Aegis to actually not get himself killed while you're gone."
"Excellent point you have there," the man answered, looking back to the house. "That man is simply stubborn. Waste of intelligence working for him, actually." He then paused. "Still, it would be a pleasure to actually meet the other cultists."
"Yeah... Although I'd say wait for things to return to normal before introducing yourself to the rest of the cult."
"Anyway, I guess we'll be seeing you later then." Lord X-Giga-X waited for Erahvs to climb back onto Grodisflare's back. Grodisflare then slowly lifted himself off of the ground, and began his flight to HQ, carrying the two passengers on his back.

  11. CrazE gazed upon the exhausted form of Vale, seeing him soothing Rye. He felt something tighten in him, something that he couldn't quite place. The feeling of danger was out, and yet a new feeling somewhat close caused him to reach out and grab his girl gently, hefting her into his arms and beginning to soothe her. His gaze locked onto his, a calm and yet defensive tension emanating off him. "Thank you Vale," he started, "But we can handle our children."

Valerie let out a breath as she listened to the murmurs coming from the room, hearing the mention of Vale's name. Immediately her guard relaxed as she turned and made her way to the bathroom. Calm down, Val. Nothing dangerous could possibly be around anymore... you're safe. she told herself, reaching the bathroom door and gently trying the handle.

  12. As Jason quickly downed his kill, his emerald eyes glanced to his left, where Mimring emerged from the trees. The Plated Firedrake's eyes- a few shades darker than his master's- showed a hint of irritation. I do not understand why you, of all people, are so quick to trust a stranger after what happened at headquarters. The dragon kept to telepathy; Kyton was drawing easily within earshot. Just because he appears a friendly face does not mean you should immediately accept. You know better than that.

Honestly, Mimring. If he's a threat, then the entire cult will be on him. Unlike the Black Assassin, Kyton's alive. I don't think he's going to regenerate, Jason snorted in response, folding his silver-tipped wings as he looked at Mimring. Then he looked over his wing and shifted to human form as a rather surprised-looking Kyton approached.

"I wasn't aware you had a dragon form... though, I guess it suits you." Kyton smiled; Jason couldn't help but smile back. It was strange how he felt so relaxed around the former Durasken soldier, but he didn't want to question it. "I figured you were up already. I don't think many of the others are, though."

  13. "Since when have I doubted your abilities as a father?" Vale inquired, standing back with a blank, souless gaze. "I was simply calming her down for the sake of things. To keep everyone quiet after such a day yesterday." Stretching out his arm slightly, he gave out a small yawn until withdrawing from the room. Silent as always, the scarlet-gunslinger kept his words to himself. Vale felt a little annoyed, a little bristled upon hearing CrazE's words and tone. As if I were going to actually...end that girl's life. I wouldn't. And I shouldn't.

"Oh no no, Vale.." Starr called out softly, placing her hand on his shoulder. Vale looked back without any care and nodded. " I understand, I understand, Ms. Starr." He began, looking at Starr as she chuckled and nodded back. "I'm glad we have someone looking out for us. And thanks for calming our little girl down."

Looking back, Vale walked out of the door, waving his hand up as he headed down the hall. "Simply doing what I am ordered to do in part of the madam herself: Help."

  14. CrazE looked off after Vale, simply sighing as he holds Rye close to him, rubbing and patting her back gently as he walked into the room, to the crib where little Ringo lay. He smiled, looking over at Starr with a tired, yet beaming look. The look of a happy father. He kissed the little girl's cheek as he continued to rub her back gently, then commenting, "I'm... so happy. So happy they happened, Starr..." he whispered, closing his eyes. "It's all I've ever wanted to be.."

As the sun began to rise, two bloodred orbs shot open, a growl of distaste emanating within the box of dark energy. A man dressed completely in black attire (along with his skin being of a dark grey pigment as well) sat in a hunched position, his energy practically gone. "Must I be confined in here forever?..." murmured to himself, feeling the dark walls. The symbol on his back glowed a moment, reminding him of his power sealed within himself. It only angered him again, striking at the box and causing a ripple to pulsate from the blow. As usual, the strike had no effect. He yelled out in agony, "Must I be confined and rot into nothingness?!"

  15. Starr smiled slightly as she hugged CrazE from behind, looking at her little baby girl's eyes light up with joy upon feeling a kiss from her father light up her cheeks in a pink shade. CrazE was right- Rye and Ringo were by far the greatest gifts of all. "I'm so glad we had them...so glad that we brought them into the world.."

Walking down the hallway, Vale's groggy-tired eyes gazed each inch of the white hallway riddled with paintings of the Starkey family and- The Beatles? "Huh, looks like this manor wasn't entirely built by her.." Vale whispers to himself.

  16. Mimring regarded the man disdainfully, but Jason gave the dragon a brief look and turned back to Kyton. "They'll wake up soon enough. In the meantime, I was thinking of seeing if there was anything else damaged in Headquarters that the rest of us missed. Want to tag along? It'd be a good way to show you the second and third floors." Mimring blinked and looked at Jason. A silent and brief conversation seemed to pass between them before the dragon snorted and flew off, soaring out of sight.

Kyton looked after Mimring with a hint of concern. "What's with him?" Doesn't seem to trust me yet... this will be needlessly irritating with the dragon around. He shook his head and looked at Jason with those vibrant yellow eyes. "Anyway, as for your offer, I'd love to come. Shall we go?"

Jason grinned, once again feeling strangely relaxed. Must be the forest air. "Yeah. Come on, it's a bit of a walk and I'd like to get there before everyone starts on repairs again." Nodding to the other shapeshifter, Jason headed towards HQ. With a slight chuckle, Kyton followed.

  17. CrazE leaned back and kissed Starr sweetly as he holds Rye up more, cuddling her slightly as their little family was close. Almost on a whim, crazE reached down and gently pulled Ringo into his other arm, utmost carefulness not to arouse him dramatically to not make him cry in surprise. He kissed Ringo's cheek as well as he rested him onto his own shoulder gently, loving the sensation of pride upon holding both his children.

Loving the sensation of being a father.

Back in the coliseum, the dark form of Darkside was now no longer in stasis. Blow after blow, raging strike after raging strike, Darkside attempted his best to try and release himself from the box, his yelling with each strike growing louder and louder. Birds and animals began to flee at the sound of the struggle, causing an almost uproarous stampede away from the coliseum. Darkside's yells only became louder by the resonance of the coliseum's echo-reflecting inner structure, causing an even more uncomfortable disturbance in the nearby area. Darkside, no matter how long he was at it, wasn't going to stop. "I. AM. GETTING. OOOUUT!" he exclaimed with the most rage he'd felt for a long time.

  18. "Well, that was some of the best sleep I've had in months." Jack yawned as he peeled himself off of his bed. His body clearly didn't want him to get up. After he finished walking down the stairs, being careful to avoid any damaged sections that may not have been repaired, he walked into the kitchen only to find Jude already in there, making a cup of tea. "Christ, do you ever sleep?" He asked, half-rhetorically, as he already knew the answer. "Jack, one would assume that after in excess of twelve years travelling with me, you would have it imprinted in your memory that I do not sleep? Clearly your memory has had a fault somewhere along the line." Jude responded, half-mocking Jack. "And I thought you could read minds. It was a rhetorical question, dumbass." Jack replied through a cup of coffee, irritated, "Anyway, seen Dark or Jase yet today? No worries, just asking." "Hmm... I have seen them, yes. Jason had left earlier to hunt, and Dark is sitting on the roof." "Thanks, man. I'll go talk to Dark first, as Jase's probably busy." Jack replied, finishing his coffee and heading for the door to HQ.

  19. The two hadn't been walking for long when both looked off in the distance at the sounds of a furious shout and scattering wildlife. Jason's expression flashed to a sort of tense neutrality; he recognized the voice. Kyton, however, looked on curiously. The sound seemed to be coming from past HQ, where he hadn't been. "What was that?" He asked with genuine interest.

Jason took a breath, then shook his head, sending a quick mental note to Mimring. As the dragon could be seen in the distance flying toward the colosseum, Jason looked at the other shapeshifter. "Darkside... it's a long story, but we've got him trapped in the colosseum." Kyton imperceptibly perked up, more alert. Jason felt through the link that Mimring had landed on a colosseum pillar and was watching Darkside rage against his confinement. "I half want to check it out, but Mimring's there and I doubt Darkside's getting out..."

"I'd kinda like to take a look," Kyton replied smoothly. "I want to learn about everything around here. To settle in better."

"Well..." Jason looked into the distance for a few seconds. Then he shrugged. "I suppose there's no harm in it. This way." He adjused his course slightly, towards the colosseum, Kyton continuing to follow.

  20. Just as her father was cuddling and holding her, Rye's small form suddenly jerked forward with an unusually loud sneeze. Her small and cute little face scrunched quite a lot- And if it wasn't enough, she kept sneezing loudly despite of her father picking up Ringo on his other free arm. "Zzzzzzuuuuuu~!" With one last sneeze, Rye quickly rubbed her nose and eyes with her little hands, then looking at her father and then redirecting her attention towards her twin brother as he stirred from his sleep. What a short family moment. Unusual to say at least. Starr gave a slight concerning look at CrazE, then got closer to check on her little girl. "Huh....quite an unusual sneeze she has....doesn't sound casual.." Starr whispered to CrazE's ear.

Vale kept his walking speed steady while traversing through the hallways just above the two main staircases that would've taken the gunslinger down to the mainroom if he had wished to go. Each second- each picture kept his interest flared. Pictures, murals, even some conjured out of pastel were all of Starr and her family and each Beatle. Strange...these...'beatle' men seem to be quite a big influence on her and the creation of this interesting manor itself- Especially that George man I've met beforehand. However, one picture caught his attention from the corner of his scarlet eye. A...man dressed in drag black; Platinum blonde hair neatly brushed and kept with a smile barely cracking bellow it followed with eerie pink/ lavander pools which were his eyes. To his left was a white fox with equally as shady vermillion eyes perched on his shoulder calmly. And finally to his right was a younger Starr- just about the age of 10, neatly dressed in a red laced satin dress and her brown hair as short as can be. For a moment, Vale stopped and looked at the picture, but he snapped his attention back to his objective; Find Gaga. Finally moving on and stopping at a door, Vale gently knocked and opened it. "Madam, it is time for you to ge-"

However, the person he was looking for was long gone.
