Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra Thread

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Red Starr, Jul 18, 2013.

  1. I think the only possible reaction is "omg."

(Also unrelated but I now have a fully circular post count!)

  2. CBDJOABCSAO
    GET HYPE

Also, I really the sequences with the first avatar, very stylized. o.o

  3. Love it! If I had to make a theory as to the plot I'd say something like the spirit world is unhappy with how the world has changed and are warring with eachother/man. Probably wrong.

  4. I think that we may see some more uses of energy bending in this season!

  5. So the LoK info-bomb continues....

The first 3 minutes- yes, three whole minutes- of the first episode of Book two is avalible as of today. Watch it on your own risk but I discourage it because c'mon...three minutes is too little of time and it may make you impatient for September to come.

Here we go. I can't paste links on an edited post because it erases everything. Have fun

  7. Firebending on motorcycles!

That joke out of the way, that was an enjoyable three minutes. But damnit, I can't wait until it airs! DX

  8. The first episode was already shown in Comic-Con like two days ago. But here's some facts and rumors I keep digging up as I scavange around the official page:

-That three minute video is basically the animatics shown in the last comic con, just animated.

-The animation looks more japanese-like rather than "american-ish" because LoK book two, three, and four is currently being animated by a different company. The original animators dropped out and refused to animate book two because it took so much work to make book one. This one's shipped straight from South Korea so it probably doesn't get better than that, right?

-Nick.com might, and this is probably false...but they /might/ post episode one on their site for those who couldn't go to comic-con. The plot of episode one's pretty much out there on the interwebs so why not.

More updates to come as Comic-Con enters a new day tomorrow.

  9. JPCODJSPKDPSds. Just got done with a couple of super busy days, so naturally that meant a much-needed ZEJ visit. What did I see within the first topic I decided to check up on!? DAT trailer. Holy cheese waffles, man. Words cannot describe how unbelievably hyped I am for this. I'm going to introduce my sister to Book 1 over the link Zantok provided us all with starting (hopefully) tonight so that we can watch it together on demand or something once Book 2 begins. It's looking totally amazing.

I, too, am enamored by the stylization of the scenes which involve the First Avatar. Everything is looking REALLY good. Story-wise, this could be some of the best Avatar has given us, and I've been a major fan since the series' inception, so that is saying a lot. The animation is looking better than before, too, in my opinion. Definitely a good change. Looking forward to see if that hopefully-true-yet-very-likely-false tidbit about all of episode one being uploaded to Nick.com. The better side of me wants to call bunk before the confirming shot is fired, but I really just want for it to be true so I have something productive to do tonight.

  10. Another day at comic con! Nick is dishing out a hell of a lot of goodies for fans, including pictures of places the LoK gang will soon visit in book 2! Yeah, that's right. A grand chunk of TLA will be in LoK now: Traveling. Something we haven't seen in a long time. In my opinion I'm stoked! I was getting tired of Republic City to be very honest with you here. Enjoy~

  11. I agree Starr! I'm glad that we'll see traveling again in Book 2. Republic City is nice and all, but I'd love to see how the rest of the world changed in 70 years.

    I mean, Yeah. Enjoy.

  13. That disappoint when (spoiler'd because spoiler)

Unalaq is just a regular old everyday villain. I was seriously hoping for an anti-villain or anti-hero. Oh well, the development for Aang's family was still really nice.

  15. You didn't evem get the convo about ships? Cheapskate.

  16. He didn't even include my theories besides the squidshark one! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

  17. Not my fault neither of you didn't think of posting them yourselves. Besides, sharksquid is obviously more important.

Look on the bright side. Now you get to make an informative post summarizing your other theories!

  18. Seriously. I was hoping within the first three of episodes that Unalaq would have a lot more shades applied to his character than he had been given, but it just seems like he's in a "lez taek ova da wurldddds" kinda mindset, which is unfortunate. Maybe something will happen to him later on that will instigate a change in character, like the revelation that x or y or z is the real big bad, or something-rather.

I've enjoyed his kids as characters thus far, though Eska is obviously the one who is taking prevalence over Desna in the minds of the writers. I wonder if they'll ever give Desna something to do. Probably not. Ah well, as far as Korra's family goes, I at least like the character progression that they've given Tonraq this season.

The real collective star of this show right now, as you've already pointed out, is the development of Aang's family, from showing us Tenzin's siblings, to the increase in importance of his own children. Nice stuff to be seen there.

    sharksquid 4 lyf.
