Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra Thread

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Red Starr, Jul 18, 2013.

  1. This is needed mainly because we're in the middle of a creative storm, dear fans. Right here will be the place where TLA/LoK talk can happen and where you can get the latest news on both Aang and Korra stuff!

First order of business, July will be a VERY important month for LoK fans as we will now be seeing the /full/ first episode of Book two way before scumbag Nick premiers it. Where exactly will it premier? In this year's San Diego Comic Con! Expect youtube videos of it shortly after and further news as it comes!

As for Nick, we'll be seeing a trailer around early July.

  2. I LOVE The Last Airbender. Movie could have been loads better though. Step 1: Replace M. Night Shamamamalyan as a director. TERRIBLE CHOICE!!

Haven't seen any of Legend of Korra yet but I guess now that I know the first season is over this is a good time to start

  3. "early july"

starr july is more than half over

Either way. Loved TLA, never really got to watch much of LoK. Just the first couple of eps.

  4. I'm running on two hours of sleep..woops XD -early july.
Just keep an eye out on nick for a full trailer since those pricks didn't even grace the fans with a full trailer.

Anyway, switching over to TLA: The search part two came out a week ago and from what I hear it's a pretty interesting read. I know for a fact that many TLA fans scan the comic and post it up on sites like tumblr or youtube. So if you don't feel like buying the comic, go check out those places. I would suggest that any new readers to TS should brush up on the first comic because it was /heavy/ with secrets and twists. Not to mention Zuko cliffhangers DAMNIT. There is so much info there that if you just read part two you'll be as lost as a 5 year-old playing Metal Gear Solid 1 for the first time. Oh, and another spirit world-type arc implication is tied with the plot! We got ourselves an 'angry' spirit wolf!!

Khya you gotta watch the rest of LoK. It got really good after a couple of episodes. It was well worth watching through for me :x

  5. And since lolphone doesn't allow me to edit, here it is:

*Nick didn't even grace us with a full trailer and instead pulled out this 10 second sneak peak that just made my hunger for book 2 grow more.

    AAAAND-

*There is so much feels in the last few episodes of LoK. So much feels.

  6. So I'm four episodes in and I think I know who this Amon or however the heck his name is spelled guy is.Just seems all too convenient for a certain person to be doing certain things.

  7. Yeah, if only I had the TV to myself often enough to watch LoK.

  8. http://www.gogoanime.com/category/avatar-the-legend-of-korra

    boom.

  9. @Zantok - At the beginning of the series, I found it a bit harder to pin down who exactly Amon was. I think there's a chance that you have a good guess and may get certain aspects of it correct but still be ultimately surprised about whose face it really is behind the mask later on. It makes for a good story that I'm sure we'll hear more about in some way, shape, or form in Book 2, even though it apparently will have to do mostly with Korra's own reflection as the Avatar and honing in on everything, or so I've heard.

@Kudamon - Don't know if Zantok's linkage will work on your DSi, but if it does, it's well worth the streaming time to watch. xD

@Starrie - I'm a major fan of the Avatar series as a whole. It's been pretty awesome being able to grow up with Aang and then watch a slightly more "matured" showing with Korra when I'm a little older myself. It's a great series. Love it, and seriously can't wait for Book 2 to start for Korra. It's been SOOOOO LONGGG already. AHH xD I join you in your hunger for this time just start already.

  10. Jonno, I'm not restricted to the DSi anymore, lol.

I have my own computer :p

  11. Good. Then go watch that stuff, dawg. :>

  12. @Jonno has watched all of Korra? I went on a watching spree last night and finished up this morning. We must chatify my good sir.

  13. How 'bout that LoK ending tho? Those were the feels I spoke about. And I hope you know which part I mean ;-;

  14. I'm actually not sure which moment of feels you are referring too as there are three possibilities. That said, that was a magnificent ending to the season though I think I would have stretched out the events of the first season out longer as that storyline could have been a larger over-arcing one that lasted a while but I'm sure the creators know what they are doing.

  15. I was referring to the amon part...with the boat. Yeah.

Also I do agree that the Amon arc should have been longer but the creators were never going for a second and third season so with that said the entire LoK series was supposed to be just one book.

  16. It was originally just one book?!?! WHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Well okay. While I don't see why they only wanted to do one book as there is so much more to explore I can now understand why the Amon arc wasn't longer though i wish there had been more episodes then to add more to the story but I don't even remember how many each book of Last Airbender had so if it's the same then argument dropped.

Ah yes the boat. Definite "feels" as the kids say these days. I will caught off guard by that scene and that doesn't happen often so damn it was good.

Just a little *hint*hint*nudge*nudge* here but somebody should start up an Avatar RP maybe with a past Avatar or the next one in the line after Korra or even later in time maybe an Avatar in modern-ish times? Could be interesting either way.

  17. Maybe I can arrange something of that callibur :x

  18. COMIC-CON UPDATE: This may not be much of a shocker to any of you, but Legend of Korra Book 2 has been officially confirmed to premier in September. The official /day/, however, isn't known yet. But everybody is keeping an eye on Comic-Con Korra news as it enters it's second day.

My guess is that Nick will probably post the exact date.

  19. TRIPLE POST BUT THIS IS IMPORTANT URYOEDNEJBIERFMKDFSDUFR
