Quirenyun's Imprinted [RP]

Discussion in 'Roleplay Archives' started by Red Starr, Oct 13, 2012.

  1. Raiden almost felt a twinge of irritation pinch the side of his head while hearing Lucea scold him for doing what he thought was good. All the woman did was spit at him, lecturing the poor Diclonius about how Xanadu had to remain locked up underground. Although his ample bravery seemed to have created a "wall" of sorts to keep Lucea out, Raiden couldn't help but at least feel a little angered at the young woman for simply not understanding. Not understanding Xanadu, not understanding Diclonius Version 23.

Raiden quickly stepped up and crossed his arms, giving off a slight sigh. "Look look look. There isn't any "relationship" between me and her. There wouldn't be if all I'm doing is accepting to supervise her and drag her around the base with me." strangely enough, his tone remained assertive despite his face showed some weakness. Somehow he felt a little...conflicted between the rules that Lucea supported and the inner drive within Raiden that brought him this far in life. But her questions came quick, and he didn't have any time to chose a side. So he remained hard. "Sure she made me break a heating vent out of a joke gone wrong. And sure, that window will....never be the same, but she did it out of good will regardless. She did it out of a need to smile. Sadistic? Yes, but you can't blame her for acting out if you had to be in her situation." For once, Raiden stopped upon realizing he was /defending/ Xanadu. But then again, he related to her quite well. Putting out his hand, he waved it casually as if he wanted to toss the tension between them away to make room for compromise. "Look, let me be frank here. You can't expect a change in her if you don't allow her to actually have a chance to act like us instead of trying your best to force her to be like us. If it bothers you that much, come with me to supervise her, then."

  2. Ziera just smiled, as usual, as she caught up with Tatsuo. Miyoku cocked her head at the door- sounds of arguing were now coming from the other side- and it caught the Avimperist's attention as well. Looking at the door for a moment, then turning back to Tatsuo, Ziera said, "No, I didn't forget anything. I just went outside to get Miyoku." She nodded at the eagle on her hand. Heading for the door, she continued, "Glad I came, I think they're fighting."

With Miyoku still perched on the glove, Ziera opened the door Tatsuo had just looked through. Eagle and girl both slipped into the eastern wing, finding themselves with Lucea, Xanadu, and Raiden. Miyoku puffed her feathers out at Lucea before watching Xanadu cautiously as Ziera, bright smile and all, attempted to calm what she percieved as arguing. "C'mon, let's not fight. We're all in the same unit, here. We should act like the allies we're supposed to be." Having caught at least the tail-end of Lucea's and then Raiden's statements, she continued.

"Give Xanadu a chance, at least it's another unit member looking after her." She shrugged as Miyoku looked at her. "If Xanadu get out of hand, better to have Raiden nearby than a random soldier. Right?"

  3. Lucea was surprised at how much faith the other members of her unit had in Xanadu. Resulting from a mixture of logic and suspicion, Lucea couldn't bring herself to bear the same belief in "good will" as Raiden and Ziera seemed to. She recognized this, and subtly wondered if a show of trust would help concrete a bond within the unit. Xanadu was highly skilled, and it wouldn't be easier down the line to be a subject of her animosity-- or whatever negative feeling drove the vampire to cause pain in others. "If it bothers you that much, come with me to supervise her, then," Lucea recalled Raiden's invitation.

Considerations that disregarded emotion filed along in Lucea's mind like organized calculations. This option, escorting Xanadu along with Raiden, seemed the most logical... a tangent urge to report Xanadu right now and send her back to the underground cell-- no questions asked-- seemed salaciously easy and typical, but that route wouldn't gain any camaraderie. Besides... thinking about that act left a suprisingly bitter taste imprinted in Lucea. 'Just send her straight back to her cage and oppression... it suddenly feels criminal to think of doing that...'

"I won't demand for her to be taken back to her cell," Lucea declared in a conciliatory tone, eyes glancing uneasily away from anybody's gaze. A sense of humility, disgusting and gratuitous, reigned in Lucea's body language. 'Official, now,' Lucea reminded herself. With an effort, Lucea locked her gaze on Xanadu. "But I will join you and Raiden. There's been enough disorder around here today, and I expect you to not cause any more ruin, Miss Paperblack."

After all, this was the unit that may decide a portion of the fate of Quirenyun. Any discord or arguments would make dysfunctional the whole team, and maybe even the stability of the country they served.

  4. "You heard her, Ms. Paperblack." Crossing his arms, the Diclonius diverted his gaze at Xanadu. "We all fought for your right to roam today, we all have faith in your actions, only now we need your part in making sure we didn't make a grave decision." For once in his life, Raiden let out a mental sigh just after the argument had receded. It wasn't every day where he felt so conflicted between following the rules and following his gut, however, the young man felt a little relieved that he had not taken things too far out of hand. Conflicting choices like these always ended badly for Raiden. He knew it well, and didn't dare to let himself go blind and split himself over something. Especially something so small compared to the time w--

Raiden turned his head towards Ziera and Miyoku suddenly, "And it's good to see someone who at least has a little faith in the new guy." he said with a slightly joking tone, fixing up the collar of his coat and then uncrossing his arms as the tension began to fade. "But enough with this, Lucea? You'll probably be bored along with Ms. Paperblack here. My routine is rather...well, quiet and for myself. But if you feel like you should leave and take her with you, by all means..go ahead. Just make sure to alert me about it and lets see how things go thereafter."

  5. Vicious fangs were flashed in a grin while Xanadu's face retained the exact same illusion of innocence, childlike gaze dancing among the members of the unit she supposedly belonged to. Like a flawlessly veiling masquerade, this facet of her would, undoubtedly, dispel the doubts of her alleged insanity to those who have been fortunate enough to not have witnessed the deranged end of the spectrum. It was unreal, in a sense approaching the normality of Mantua itself, because the analogy was comparable to those who simply had forgotten to fear the dark.

    of the monster within her

"Woo! Lucea is coming along too~" she cheered unexpectedly, clutching her hands together in front of her as well as she could manage with the indestructible slate of rock binding both wrists. She, too, ensured that her injured hand would remain unseen, a layer of D-Blood clotting the winding gash without ever spilling. She formed eye contact with the Diclonius once again, "I told you I was going to behave! Well... try to."

foolishness leads into death the weak

Her expression darkened for a split second. One hand, hidden within the sleeve, contorted into complex manipulative motions as Mana was concentrated into the command. And there would be no scarlet liquid pooling out from the building's wall anymore.

deserve just let the blood flow once more

"I don't know what you're talking about..." the mumble would appear to be majorly incoherent to those who were attentive enough to have her listened... but it otherwise went unnoticed. She realized her field of vision was shifted towards the floor, so she looked up again rather expectantly at the rest.

  6. After a grueling amount of time outside, many of the 'stranded' soldiers began making their way back to the mess hall. Grumbling curse words while some simply fixed up their jackets to keep themselves warm and comfortable while the usual morning gales took their turn. It was rather unusual to start off the day like this. The morning was nearly perfect: lofty clouds floating gently across the grand blue skies, the sun rising higher above the Zhennka mountains to announce the arrival of mid-morning with a nice, warm light to accompany the grumpy soldiers.  Just as the very first few soldiers began to get closer to the entrance, a rather strong voice overpowered the groans and moans of the annoyed soldiers. Some soldiers immediately spun around to salute, others decided to stop in their tracks and then fix their slouchy postures. The man who would repeat what he yelled out tightened his fists.

    "Attention!"

Every soldier around immediately scrambled to get into position. A very select few began calling out after the loud voice. "Company, form!"  And each soldier began aligning with a rather nice and organized line of men. "HUAH!"

"Now," Walking forward, a pair of black as night boots began clacking down the paved concrete of the area. Spurs attached on the back heels of the boots showed that his style was unfitting to the Quirenyunese culture and reflected a hard, untamed personality. The man whom all fell to attention slowly paced from one end to the other, his attention, his intense crystal eyes scanning each soldier closely. With each glare came a slight jolt of anxiety by each soldier in attention, their eyes attempting to look away from the man observing him. " I need one, perhaps two worms right here to explain to me. And I expect the very best when someone speaks up."

He stopped. One soldier looked up cautiously and saw the giant shadow before him. No matter what, no soldier could miss a man dressed in drag-black from head to toe in military attire and adorn a crimson scarf neatly tucked into his heavy military coat. Pulling his head up, the soldier felt the man almost breathe in his face as he got closer. "Abo-About the...breakfast this m-morning?" "As much as I enjoy Zhennka Shi's finest meals, no..." Suddenly, the man swiftly reached for his belt and pulled out a horse whip. He nonchalantly lashed it to his side and in an instant, pulled it underneath the clueless soldier's chin. "I meant the reason why you all are out here.." Hissed the man, trailing his gaze across the line. "You all should listen, and listen clearly. As residents of our fine establishment, I expect /all/ of you to be aware of your surroundings: Know whats around you, who, and know each sound, colour, and goddamn movement at /all/ times."

    "Yes Major General!"

Sliding the whip across the chin and down the neck of the soldier, the Major General cracked the horse whip to the side and placed it on his hand. With the events of the morning now dawning on the Major even more, he began to raise his voice in irritation. "Don't yes 'major general me. If you took the initiative to do as we train you to do, I would have had a straight answer by now to my question. And you want to know why I'm so 'eager' to know?" Everyone stood quiet for a moment, "Because there has been an escape within the lower reaches of this base, and your answer may be /that/ explanation."

"Agh! Coming! Coming! I was just explaining to ol' buddy here about code six!" Yelled out the messenger, gripping the handles of his bike tightly while he began walking off towards the gates. Ikan looked back at the man momentarily and gave out a crazy-wide grin. Although this quiet member of the unit seemed to have very little to say, Ikan couldn't help but feel a little thankful for his help. It was as if he were a silent miracle maker for his bike, one who didn't need words to convey his actions of goodwill. Waving at Gavvin, Ikan turned his head back and spoke out into the open casually. "Man, what a keen cat. You should totally give him a raise after this alert is lifted." Passing through a guard while giving his 'suggestion', one guard simply groaned and looked over to the silent man and motioned him to cross the gates into the base. "You should adhere to the rules and return within the walls of the base-- we're in high alert right now for the time being, 'best be safe."

Once Ikan entered, he immediately mounted his bike and began riding his way to the main building's entrance. The very enthusiastic sky serpent let go of one of the bike handles just after spotting the doors of the main building and began waving around his grip of letters as a way to announce his arrival to the guards in-charged of standing in front. Like a child calling out a friend in a playground, Ikan squealed out and finally hit the bike breaks, looking up at the men and then chuckling. "..Damn do I love this b- Oh, right. Yeah!" Ikan then reached in his mailbag and pulled out a red envelope. "This goes directly to the Major general at once. It's time sensitive, and the Secretary of Defense wants him to respond to this at once."

The guard blinked and reached out for the letter, "Oh, of course. Huh, we haven't had these things in a while." Ikan gave a nod and looked around for a moment as the guard placed the envelope in his pocket, then rose his brow. "This means I'm taking your room, Jeff. You'll be sleeping outsid-"

Without a chance to react, the guard scowled at Ikan just until the idiotic messenger used his feet to pull himself and the bike back and then speed off wildly. Only a groan escaped his lips as he turned to open the door and then enter inside the main building. "Freaking idiot."

"Well, Xanadu..with Lucea coming with us, you don't really have much of a choice but to behave." Raiden said with a half-lingering tone of wariness. After such an argument, the Diclonius felt a little tense around the strict woman and the vampire that it almost translated to him keeping his shoulder up and stiff along with his face. Lucea remained cautious around the escaped unit member, obviously showing some form of holding back her need to send Xanadu back to her cell by her solid expression. He knew that he needed to break the ice a little in order to simmer things down, so he spoke out in a rather [creepy] upbeat tone. "How about we all just get something to eat to make up for lost time and to do things of such nature or whatever." He realized that what he had said didn't count towards Xanadu, so he turned to her and tilted his head. "Er, well, maybe I can skip breakfast to accompany you elsewhere. I understand that you're...well um..." A pause ensued. Raiden grunted slightly and looked back ahead as he began to move forward to the door leading outdoors. "Nevermind, I'm having a bit of trouble getting my thoughts straight. Lets go Ms. Paperblack, and you too Lucea."

After pushing open the door, Raiden immediately paused as he heard the voice of the Major General just up ahead. His eyes squinted slightly just before he turned back inside and bit his lip slightly. It was clear by the sight of the alligned soldiers that the Major General was looking for answers. Raiden only briefly recalled his experience with Xana earlier and put up his hand to alert the others to not make a sound. The Major? Why does he have those men in line?

"...Lucea? You mind going out to take a peak? The Major seems to be yelling at the soldiers-- unusual for this time of day.." whispered the Diclonius. "He doesn't take kindly to me due to my now increasing record of screw ups, but you have a clean slate, and he wont question you too much if he spots you."

  7. Tatsuo could hear that the discussion about the little vampire, Xanadu, was just coming to a close.  Just as he was about to go inside the eastern wing, he thought that he heard something outside the building, though it was rather distant.  Then, he saw the soldiers lining up just outside the door.  Wondering what all the yelling was about, Tatsuo walked outside, many of the soldiers giving him that strange look that they always did.  By now, Tatsuo was used to it.  Nobody really trusted him, what with anything they may have heard about his past.

In the distance, he could hear the voice of the Major General.  Tatsuo never really liked the man, but he did his best to keep as good of a composure around him as he possibly could.  Straightening his rather formal, but not so overboard on the formality as to be uncomfortable, jacket, and making sure that everything else about him was in order... Both Shèng and Yuànhèn were in their holsters on the back of his hips, right where they should be.

Sighing, then straightening up, Tatsuo walked in front of the soldiers lined up for the Major General, following his thundering voice, surely chewing out one or more of the soldiers for one reason or another.  As Tatsuo neared, he could make out that the Major General was talking about the escape this morning.  Figuring that the General's opinion far outweighed that of his squadron's, at least for all intents and purposes of the current moment, Tatsuo decided that he should tell the general of the situation.

When he arrived at the outside entrance of the eastern wing, the Major General had just finished everything he had said, and he was now glaring at the soldiers.  Gathering up what meager confidence he could, Tatsuo walked until he was several feet beside the Major General.  "Major General, Sir," Tatsuo addressed in a half-convincing bravado, "Miss Paperblack is, last I checked, inside the eastern wing right now, along with misses Meifeng and Varikoi, and that Raiden.  It sounded like Miss Paperblack escaped out of her own power as if it was child's play, however.  I must say, I don't think any prison cell could hold that girl long if she wasn't so," Tatsuo paused for a moment, unable to find the right word.  Knowing that the General would probably interrupt him here, he figured he should continue with the inadequate word that was in his mind.  "Cooperative, at times."  Tatsuo flinched slightly at this wording, knowing that, while indeed true, was not what he was looking for.   This flinch only last a moment, however, and he returned to that nerve-wracking feeling of having to stare at the Major General, unable to look away for even a moment, wondering what this man would do if he caught you doing so.

  8. Gavvin redirected his line of sight to the guard, who opened the gate that allowed people within the facility, Ikan immediately biking through without another say. The guard was staring at him now, awaiting his move into the facility. Gavvin's mind took in the recognition and slowly began pacing in, his sightless eyes on the guard causing a severe discomfort (as it always did to all who looked into his spiritless eyes) for the poor soldier. Gavvin's solid black boots clacked eerily as the silent, ghostly man entered officially into the camp and following Ikan a little, before Ikan biked off in a different direction. Gavvin's gaze then steadied ahead, as it usually did, toward some invisible point no one could decipher. Voices could be heard in the distance, causing Gavvin's subconscious attention to be taken in by the alluring echoes of what sounded like yells. Within the moment of these sounds hitting his ears, Gavvin's body turned toward the noises, toward the commotion that was so easily resounding. The man's voice depicted dominance so easily.

Gavvin then stopped as his eyes focused on the new view. Men lined up, a large man in an official suit screaming demands and orders-

Gavvin's eyes fluctuated dramatically as they widened, suddenly a vision appearing before the man's very eyes. A flashback, a memory of something from long in the past. A vision of a wall on the other side of the room, immobile sight and a rigid body as his eyes rang with a man's voice, hoarse and rough against his eardrums, but unable to anything about it. The source of the voice appeared before him, but blurred due to the nature of the memory. Immediately his face was bombarded by foul and vigorously aggressive language. In the memory, he didn't flinch. He never did flinch.. but why?..

Gavvin's attention suddenly reverted back to reality, held ahead with the usual dead gaze. But.. something was off. A contortion of facial features so minute it would never have been noticed by any one person. But, as to all in the facility, would be easily recognizable from the norm of shell of the man Gavvin.

    He was uneasy.

  9. "The Major...?" Lucea wondered aloud, hoping he wasn't disciplining and punishing the soldiers she had evacuated earlier. She stepped past Raiden and stuck her head out, peering at the line-up. Sure enough, strutting before the the gaze of every soldier and their nervous expressions was the Major General.

Leaning back with a troubled look, Lucea glanced behind her. "Xanadu," she started, a tone of caution in her voice. "You have certain rights that should allow you to be free of your cell. My past encounters with the Major lead me to believe he's not a man to recognize those rights." Lucea paused, considering what to even report to the Major-- or how to report to him, in a way that wouldn't result in Xanadu being locked up again. "I'll tell him that Raiden and I are willing to supervise you," the Photoimperist audibly decided, stepping around the corner and letting the door shut.

"It sounded like Miss Paperblack escaped out of her own power as if it was child's play..." Lucea heard Tatsuo before she noticed him. 'Tatsuo? I didn't know he could be so assertive,' Lucea pondered, striding closer to the Major and the blue-haired sharpshooter near talking to him. Hearing Tatsuo's final sentiment, Lucea reached the pair and supplied "I agree with Tatsuo."

It was with a vague sense of defiance Lucea took her turn to stare into the Major General's steely eyes. She was on equal ground with him-- she was justified, after all. "And Major, you can't expect Miss Paperblack to stay so docile in the future unless you appease her occasionally. Raiden and I are both willing to watch over Xanadu, to make sure she doesn't do anything more reckless."

  10. The Major's eyes shifted towards the man whom called out to him by merely his strange aura and demeanor. A cold, icy pair of souless eyes snapped right onto Tatsuo until the Major's body turned to him. Tatsuo's tone carried some confidence, which to the Major was a gesture worth giving respect for. Even if the Major himself disliked such a man like him, he couldn't show his disgust with that quality. Within a moment, the Major General loosened his grip on his horse whip and a slight glimpse of intrigue swirling around in his irises mirrored a mysterious energy dancing along like poised blossom petals in the wind until he blinked. Something said out of Tatsuo's mouth in particular, the sound of something more enraging than seeing his own men out of order made him grip the whip even more tightly now. The Major simply slashed his whip to the side and narrowed his eyes suddenly in response.
     "That Raiden"

     "That Raiden"
"Ah.." The once assertive voice rung for a moment while in thought. The Major then put away his whip and then everything went towards a blinding trail after that. "So it is, so it is...the Vampire is out, and that Ni-honho is of course defying my rules- made to protect him, at that, and is now going to try to mend this problem which has led my men outside, disorganized, and fucking PATHETICALLY BEHIND IN THEIR MORNING TRAINING!"

With all of this information, it seemed like this day was going to be a very long one. Raiden was involved, of course, in which gave the Major enough answers for his dilemma. Shifting back through his amazing memories, he thought for a moment. Remembered, felt, smelled the cold and crisp air which followed behind the scent of blood. The sounds of flesh being torn from bone and fragments being crushed with one vicious motion to another made his moment of thinking back on a once forgotten memory made him burn with ire. And so it went on,  nearer and nearer it came. Flicked onto the ground over and over again by a dashing blurry blade. It followed him down after one brief pause of time itself, creeping up to his black boots as he remembered it. Looking up, the Major called ou--

He grunted slightly and took a breath as Lucea suddenly got into his field of vision. "Bring her here, and bring that Ni-honho up right here." Snarled the Major, looking across the line of men. "As for all of you, at ease. Eat whats left of breakfast, every last cold morcil you could find." With anger in his tone, each soldier eyed Lucea and Tatsuo and quickly spread out almost as similar as roaches fleeing a mighty foot. The Major snapped his eyes towards the eastern wing entrance and then called out.

    "All of you! Attention! Now!!"

"Argh, shoot me..." Closing the door slowly, Raiden turned his back on it and sighed. "Damnit, gunboy....nice job, Ziera? Xana? Looks like we're going to talk to the Major right now. But don't worry..." It wasn't very stressing to Raiden that the Major was deeply annoyed at him. Even if Xanadu was mostly to blame for this amazing fiasco, somehow in the poor Diclonius' heart, he felt that all the rage of the heavens were about to strike down on him. But again, he did not worry. Yells and snarks from the high authority made him more daring. But the hassle of going out there in front of everyone to hear another lecture made him sigh. And so Raiden turned again and opened the door, stepping outside slowly until he stopped in front of the Major and saluted with his best posture and tone. "Raiden, reporting to roll, sir!"

  13. Ziera had been relatively quiet after her successful attempt to get Lucea to give Xanadu a chance. Her bright eyes and expression didn't even falter when her sharper-than-average hearing caught the angered voice of the Major General outside, even with Miyoku turning her head in a steady glare in its direction. And then the General called the unit members to attention, which Raiden responded to rather negatively. Ziera looked at the Diclonius reassuringly, which was helped by Raiden himself saying not to worry.

"I don't think he'll do much to us," She quipped confidently. "It's not as if we broke Xana out ourselves." She looked from Raiden to the aforementioned vampire to Miyoku. The eagle had a disdainful light in her topaz glare, but Ziera knew it was only protectiveness of the avimperist, knowledge that Ziera was likely to get yelled at. Chuckling at the idea that words could hurt, Ziera walked towards the door, trailing behind Raiden.

A small songbird flitted in front of the Major General's face, looking at him briefly before ascending again. Cupris's wings beat the air hard, then angled as Ziera stepped outside. Her confident steps carried her closer to the Major General until finally she stopped, standing beside Raiden, her usual contented smile on her face. Cupris landed softly on the Avimperist's shoulder, opposite from the gloved hand Miyoku was perched upon. "Reporting for roll, sir~"

  14. The Major? The Major General? Xanadu recalled the imposing, authoritative figure of the man whose  demeanor of steel and equally as hard eyes frozen in a perpetual glare inspired anxiety in every soldiers' hearts. Despite she could sense a certain, developing layer of tension forming as Tatsuo spoke, even in the normally-reserved Raiden, the Vampire seemed to be completely oblivious--or rather completely uncaring--about the level of authority they were about to interact with. She, after all, was Xanadu Paperblack, captive by her containment cell and her own twisted insanity. Another soft, content smile found itself adhered to her expression as she followed Ziera through the door.

As the other two stopped, and performed their expected salutes, she peeked her head from behind Ziera, auburn spheres establishing visual contact with the Major General's own eyes. She stepped to the side rather awkwardly, almost tripping due to the unnatural tilt of weight her own bounds carried, and stood upright as she made herself visible. Apparently, she was the subject at hand, so she was determined to make her point as clear as she thought she could. Unfortunately...

"I'm so sorry, Major General," Xanadu started, a childlike innocence tinged in the tone as a mockery of her apology. Never breaking eye contact, she continued immediately, "But your security kinda sucks."

Seconds of extremely uncomfortable silence ensued.

  15. "Zhennka's security is fit for us civil, honest warriors of our proud land." The Major almost broke into a slight scoff, still keeping his unmoving eyes at Xanadu. The sound of his voice almost cut the flesh off of any soldier as they would then recall him. It was cold, bitter, hardened to the brink. Upon looking up and meeting the Major's eyes, Raiden saw him not show any fear towards the vampire. Not a break in expression nor any emotion in his eyes- the window to his soul. To the Diclonius, it was as if the Major was simply a vessel. A vessel barely containing the hardened soul whom had no fear of any man or beast, no fear to any god or goddess. He was a man of stone and steel, indestructible from the inside, immortal in a sense.  Barely wearing the skin of an average 38 year-old mortal. With a slight blink, the Major General continued speaking and breaking the mockery of an apology from one of his unit members. "It wasn't made to be a prison. But as you're surely implying that you need to be kept in captivity more, well.." His stone voice rung momentarily, "We-"

    "No."

The Major immediately snapped his eyes onto Raiden. That unfamiliar energy swirling madly around his irises as they pierced onto the Diclonius who had just spoken up. Raiden stepped up without permission and immediately met face to face with the Major. A stern, composed face stared directly to one in which showed little to no emotion. But some care- or annoyance, that is, began to leak out just before the Major snorted and maintained his posture. "No?" Raiden immediately looked down, then back up. He thought for a moment and assessed the situation. It seemed like the Major was mad, yes, but there was more to the Major's words and mysterious eyes that Raiden began to pick up along with his senses.   "No. That's what I said....sorry, but...you can't just    take what you've seen and say that shes 'implying' to be kept like an animal more."

The Major just simply looked at Raiden for a moment and chuckled. "Raiden, Raiden....." Suddenly, he appeared behind the now confused Diclonius. " I'd reckon that she has caused you quite a lot of trouble like shes done to the rest of the base, correct?" Nodding yes slowly, Raiden took a glimpse at Xanadu and sighed. "Yes sir. But,"

"I've seen you, I've seen the consequences. I've lost..potential, and I wont lose my unit because of a powerhouse vampire whom loves mischief and making friends with other psychotic freaks of nature l-."

Suddenly, a soldier called out while running and immediately caught the Major's attention. The Major's eyes kept their frozen glare stuck on the phthalo blue orbs of young Raiden, closely pulling away to stick on the soldier. "Yes?"

"Sir, we've got a code-6 alert along with this-" Handing the red envelope to the Major, he looked back at the unit and waved his hand. "At ease, hm.." carefully

But if you are so desprate to have yourself enclosed in an even tighter security branch-" His stone voice rung momentarily, "Well be my guest, we have jus-"

    "No."

The Major immediately snapped his eyes onto Raiden. That unfamiliar energy swirling madly around his irises as they pierced onto the Diclonius who had just spoken up. Being free is what brings the good out of people, right..?"

The Major just simply looked at Raiden for a moment and chuckled. "Raiden, Raiden....." Suddenly, he appeared behind the now confused Diclonius. "All freedom does is release unbound potential. Allow forbidden actions to be done without persecution  It can go both ways; towards good, or towards evil. The execution of such potential is up to the one who holds it themselves, and knowing her, its wise to keep such potential locked away. Hidden. " Nodding yes slowly, Raiden took a glimpse at Xanadu and sighed. "Yes sir. But-"

"You're a clear example. Without our intervention, you would've still been be-"
I would have been just fine, Major. Don't kid yourself.

"At ease, hm.." carefully, Raiden poked his attention towards the envelope as the Major opened it, but then turned his attention towards his unit. The timing couldn't have been better..

"...No, this couldn't happen... this can't be a true letter of distress. Are you sure this is from the capital?" The deliverer of the letter shook his head. "Afraid so. The seal says it all, and the color shows the urgency."
The Major simply looked away "..."

"All of you, to the main building out front, now."

  17. 'Raiden wasn't exaggerating earlier when he said the Major wasn't fond of him,' Lucea observed. The two men behaved obstinately towards each other-- sometimes they even seemed to be staring each other down. On the walk to the main building, Lucea wondered about Raiden. While it was impossible to dispute that the Major wasn't at all the most affable person alive, Lucea suspected it took someone with a foolish record to elicit such unforgiving, adamant stares from him. 'That Diclonius... I'll have to watch him as well. He could prove to be more trouble than Xanadu.'

Switching to a more pertinent topic, Lucea mused over the happenings today. 'Change breeds change, I guess. Things have been uneventful nearly the whole time we've been based here, and then everything happened today; now we're being sent on what may be our first mission.' Allowing a little eagerness at the thought of a new routine-- a dynamic, adrenaline-inducing routine that would finally put all her training to effective use-- Lucea began hoping she was near the time when she could truly start serving Quirenyun.

  18. "What an eventful day~" Ziera commented brightly, looking around at her fellow unit members. Without visible prompting, both Miyoku and Cupris left their perch, soaring ahead of Ziera as she walked to where the Major General had directed: the main building. Which obviously wasn't to say they weren't mentally prompted by the avimperist herself, especially when Miyoku hovered after several meters as if to wait and Cupris circled back to fly around the girl's head.

She watched the starling-sized songbird with mild interest, before he flew back to join Miyoku. The sight of a large eagle beside the tiny Cupris almost made her laugh; as it was, her grin grew wider. With a gentle mental nudge she directed Cupris to approach Lucea, the songbird perching on the woman's shoulder and chirping out what had to be a greeting. If Lucea were to turn to look at Ziera, she would see the avimperist smile and wave.

  19. "Eventful day, yeah...so far it..has.." Raiden muttered under his breath. A brief peak of his phtalo blue eyes looked as the Major General marched away along with the soldier slowly, a small thought crossed his mind just as the Major General turned his head slightly and flashed a very empty glare at the Diclonius. As Ziera said, today was a totally eventful day. With this potentially stressing message, it left the Diclonius thinking about that envelope. It's scarlet colouring, as the soldier said, signaled distress. But what kind of distress? The Major seemed to have been taken by surprise by it, so Raiden figured it was very serious. However, he knew little about it. And he knew little about those messages or anything of that nature. Hearing the Major General order everyone to meetup at the main building, he had a hint of what was to happen within the next hour or so. The main building housed most of the common man's necessities: An infirmary, a mailroom for everyday mail, and a weapon's check for...the lesser-common man, the soldier. However, Raiden remembered that there was also one room in which was heavily guarded. Ever since he crossed those doors in one rainy, chaotic day, that room and the door which had an uncertain point of entry to it was always guarded by two special tactical soldiers. Those who were not humans at all, and are like the snipers-- kill on sight of probable cause. Any cause being sneaking around or just simply giving off one bad look towards that room. What was in there? Only the ZSU knew by the Major's words. It was a meeting/briefing room, a room filled with expansive files and a room which bore an entrance to an underground cellar filled with secrets. Raiden soon shook his head and took a breath after thinking for a moment, then began to walk off towards the main building, looking back at Xanadu casually as he did so. "Follow me, Ms. Paperblack. You heard him." The Diclonius chuckled for a moment and stopped to wait for the Vampire. "I'm still supervising you, so you got to stick to my sights where I can see you so that you don't go off getting me into trouble like you did there."

  20. Gavvin approached the rest slowly as the General was finishing his rantings and the "conversation" with the Diclonius Raiden. He then stopped a few feet from the rest of the group, taking a good look at all those around him...

What people have fought to try and see what I perceive.

Gavvin stopped, eyes wandering about again as the voice- his own voice- had seemingly come from nowhere. Strangely, it wasn't thought by him, but what was it then? The anomaly fluttered about what was left of his mind, echoed like no other as Gavvin's eyes began to look with more intent. To all others, it seemed as if the ghost of a man was looking for something. But to the eyes that others could not see through, it was exactly what he was doing- down to the molecular level. As Gavvin looked, it was as if a detonator had come off; immediately every material and organism that came under Gavvin's analytic gaze suddenly burst, unnatural particles flying and slowing through the air as each and every compound suddenly expanded from their resting position and slowed to a complete stop halfway through their explosive state, suspended impossibly in the air.

Immediately upon these rapid explosions, a sudden surge of information, mental coding launched from each material, as if each one had to be broken apart to retrieve such precious data. The very earth beneath Gavvin's feet cracked, chunks suddenly undoing from their resting places and lifting into the air as if by nothing. Streams of mental coding relayed from these hidden springs, striking against Gavvin's eyes as he took in every amount that surged about him. His eyes continued, looking at every amount of multi-chromatic information of every compound that existed about him; even the people he worked with, the soldiers seemed to have been severed and spilling information of their biological structuring even as they moved.

To those about Gavvin, nothing had happened. Nothing exploded, no chunks of earth hovering through the air. That was simply what Gavvin could perceive; the world about was nothing but information, problems that can be solved, formulas. Gavvin slowed his erratic searching, apparently sticking out strangely before he stopped, looking back ahead. Whatever he was looking for he apparently didn't find- and it showed on his face.
