Magic Players? Yu-Gi-Oh? etc.

Used to play Yu-Gi-Oh!, play PokéTCG occasionally. Depends, really, you don't see many players for either in lolindia. ^_^;

 

Used to play Yu-Gi-Oh, tried getting into MTG, and also PokeTCG, but never really like them as much as Yu-Gi-Oh, but no one plays it anymore.

 

I used to play Yu-gi-oh, I know how to play MTG, and occaisonally play it with my friends, as for Pokemon TCG, never actually tried it...

 

I own like, a billion Magic Cards! I own Dark all the time! XD

 

I play Magic, and that's about it. I will also raep you all with my cheap-ass Spirit deck.

Oh, jeez. There's definitely plenty of amazing childhood memories for me with the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand as a whole. I remember being like 8 years old, walking into a local mall-sponsored card tournament that happened around the time that the original anime debuted here in the US and just owning everyone with Blue Eyes White Dragon, including people roughly 15 years older than me. Felt like a total badbutt.

I have a strange collection of cards...

A majority of cards I have come from the original Duel Monsters and GX era. Most of the remainder are from the 5D's era. And what's left of that are from Zexal. A chunk of my card collection consists of cards I can't even use irl.

• I have a few Ritual Monsters without the Ritual Spells needed to summon them. Lycanthrope (which requires Synthesis Spell), Javelin Beetle (which requires Javelin Beetle Pact), and Legendary Flame Lord (which requires Incandescent Ordeal). Vice versa is also true, in which I have Ritual Spells without the Ritual Monsters. Four examples are Shinato's Ark (used to summon Shinato, King of a High Plane), Commencement Dance (used to summon Performance of Sword), Final Ritual of the Ancients (used to Summon Reshef the Dark Being), and Black Magic Ritual (I shouldn't need to explain this one).
• A few Effect Monsters I have cannot be summoned because I can't fulfill the summon requirements. To name a few:
  Judgment Dragon: Something that Shadow's been destroying me with on Dueling Network that I have irl, this beast requires 4 Lightsworn monsters of different names in the Graveyard to be Special Summoned. The problem with that is that I only have 1 Lightsworn Monster.
  Malefic Truth Dragon: A powerful monster in my collection, but there's one major problem that keeps me from using it: it can only be Special Summoned if another Malefic monster is destroyed. So what's the problem? I have no Malefic monsters.
  Giant Kozaky: Well technically I can summon this one. It's just that I can't keep it on the field for the fact that I don't have Kozaky.
  Elemental Hero Poison Rose: Yeah, I know, " lol Elemental Hero". But this is the only non-Fusion one I can't summon because I don't have Rose Bud.
• Some monsters I can fulfill the requirements for summoning except for one major problem: I don't even have the monster I'm trying to summon.
  Bonding - H2O: I have a ton of this card, Hydrogeddon, and Oxygeddon. The problem is that I have 0 Water Dragon. So in this case, science fails.
  A Deal with Dark Ruler: My collection of cards features a ton of LV 8+ monsters. It, however, lacks Berserk Dragon, which can only be summoned by this card's effect.
  Warrior of Zera and The Sanctuary in the Sky: When life gives you these two cards, you Special Summon Archlord Zerato. Now if only I had that card...
• Then there are several Fusion Monsters I can't summon because I either don't have all of the necessary Fusion Materials, I don't have the Fusion Monster itself, or both. (Hilariously, I have more Polymerizations than I'm probably ever gonna need.)
• Finally, there's others spells/trap cards/monster effects I can't use because I'm missing certain spells, traps, or monsters. In some cases, it's the important card that I'm missing. However, the most hilarious case is Exodia, where I'm only missing the most important piece: the head. As a result, I'm left with a useless, headless Exodia.

Ah right, the movie cards. Pretty much meet the requirements for all 12 of the ones from the first movie (except maybe Petin, but fuck that). Though looking back, I should have tried to get some of the Bonds Beyond Time cards...


My active collecting of cards slowed down during late GX and early 5D's, and eventually came to a stop during late 5Ds. I picked up a Zexal booster pack at some point, but then stopped again. Any cards I got since then came from my subscription with Shonen Jump. In fact, that's how I've gotten my only 4 Xyz Monsters. In fact...

As for dueling irl, it's been a /long/ time since I've done that. Back during the prereleases of Shadow of Infinity, Enemy of Justice, and Power of the Duelist. But those were relatively short duels, seeing as during those, people had to duel using the cards from the set and a promo card. So everyone had short decks, and since some cards relied on cards from other sets, there wasn't much we had to work with. Like I remember getting Cyber Laser Dragon during the prerelease of Shadow of Infinity. Did not have Photon Generator Unit, and Cyber Dragon was in a different set. Then again, I didn't have Cyber Dragon at all at the time.

I don't remember all the cards I got from the prereleases, but I remember two cards that got me through two of them: Doom Dozer and Ultimate Tyranno. I got Doom Dozer in Shadow of Infinity, which had a decent number of Insect-type monsters. Which was definitely good for me, seeing how it could only be Special Summoned by banishing two Insects from my grave. And with everyone having small decks, its effect was pretty devastating.

But other than that, I have little irl dueling experience. Maybe that's why I keep losing to you guys on Dueling Network? XD

Huh... don't remember that story... Damnit, Kuda. Hilariously, I have a Cyber Dragon from Zane Duelist pack. Not to mention I have another Cyber Dragon from a tin. Though those are the only two Cyber Dragons I have, so I still can't use Cyber End Dragon. Though it doesn't keep me from using Chimeratech Overdragon or Chimeratech Fortress Dragon.

As far as my Dueling Network deck goes, I only have the following Dark World cards irl:

Ah well, with the 2 Sillvas I have, I suppose I can make a somewhat decent irl Dark World deck.... right?

Ahhhh Yu-Gi-Oh! How I miss the old days before XYZ and Synchro. I've got a shitton of cards I've collected over the years. I like to play but have always hated the banlist and the rule about having to have no more than 60 cards rule.

You and I are the similar in this respect. I used to have a MASSIVE collection during the original series, but those all burnt to a crisp in a house fire in 2004, unfortunately.. I still have some cards pre-GX era, but probably only one deck-full of 'em and don't remember at all what any of them were, but they're all packed in the garage anyway since I have no one around to play the actual physical game with. Flamezone and I still visit the Dueling Network now and then, and methinks you and I could play sometime too, but I need to practice first so no one stomps me. LOL

Wow, that's a crappy way to lose anything, let alone a collection of cards.

As I haven't actually moved anywhere in a long time, I've had my collection in my room most of the time. Haven't found one exact spot to keep them in though because my room's smallish and a huge mess. XD
But yeah, it helps to have my collection close if I need to reference a card I have in my possession.

And come to think of it, there is one card I've kept looking back to recently: Convulsion of Nature, a continous spell card that forces both players to continue the duel with their decks upside down as long as it's on the field. Everytime I look at it, the same thought runs through my mind:
How the fuck would this card work on Dueling Network?
