Whatcha Readin'?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Electro, Apr 16, 2012.

  1. Eldest (now)
    Serpent's Shadow (KC 3)
Beyonders: A World Without Heroes (Still)

  2. The start and the end of the book are horrible D:

  3. Reading The Infernal City by Greg Keyes

  4. About to start reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Friend of mine recommended me this book, and seeing as there is a movie coming out with Emma Watson in it, I figured I should read it before getting dragged to see it by the aforementioned friend (that is, if she gets over her concussion by then!). Hopefully it's interesting, but I have yet to open it~

  5. Just finished re-reading the Percy Jackson books, and now I'm waiting for the Heroes of Olympus third book to come out. If you like Roman/Greek stuff you should read the series.

  6. About to read Dracula for English. Read it before, it's good!

  7. I'm an avid reader of the offbeat modern fantasy works of Haruki Murakami. Right now, I'm re-reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. It's fantastic.

    You should read it, too.
    You should. :>>>

As far as manga goes, I'm really into Bakuman, lately. I love the breezy, unique theme to it, and Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba are my favorite duo out there, as it happens.

  8. Just finished Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I must say that the book was absolutely fantastic. Many great points throughout and it really has a powerful meaning to it... Not really the best WRITTEN book I've ever read, but it was still a great read, and I finished it over a weekend when I really buckled down on it. I would definitely recommend it. Don't bother with the movie trailer until you've read it or it will probably ruin your experience with the book, because I really don't like Logan Lerman, and I think the way they portray Patrick actually destroys his character.

But yeah, fantastic book. Read it.

I really want to go back and read the Percy Jackson series again, considering my love for Greek mythology. I've kept on top of it, but it's been so long since I actually went through and read the series from start to finish. Hopefully when they make the next movie it isn't as horrible and book-ruining as the first movie was.
