Out-of-Character Thread​

I can't believe that this show is finally getting on the road! It's taken months worth of planning and diplomacy, but hey, now we're here!  #startedfromdabottomnowwehere

This is where those participating in The Faces of Eebit will be able to have some good ol' out-of-character conversatin' about anything that has to do with the RP's goings on. Have a Faces of Eebit-related question that's in need of answering? Post about it here! Want to congratulate a fellow participant on their latest move? Post about it here. Want to voice your clear indignation towards those who placed higher than you in a challenge? Well, you can do that here, too, but remember that the glorious Eebit is even more attracted to good sports.

This will also be where we will keep a log of the members participating in this here Tournament of Tournaments as well as each of their characters' names, perhaps with some delightful Ee-commentary on them thrown in for good measure. Records of challenges and who placed what in each will also come into play, as well as who received the MVP trophy per each challenge, and who was eliminated at the end of each one. I'll be setting up an FAQ section here as well concerning the ins-and-outs of the RP and, specifically, the way that challenges work.

Spoiler: Why is this even a thing? Is this real?

The Faces of Eebit is a very real freeform roleplay set in the romantic comedy subset created by yours truly, with the inspiration being that our fair @Eebit is quite the charmer. :5 But really, this was create largely in part because Eebit is such a prime asset to these boards. Arguably, ZEJ wouldn't be anywhere near the point where it is now without his major assistance, so this, in a way, is a homage to him.

As you read given the handy link located within the answer to the first question, this is a game where up to seven people can play. Currently, there are two spots still left, so yes, you may play! Just send me a PM indicating that you want to join the RP and I'll add you to our player list.

Spoiler: What are trials and how do they work?

Trials, or more formally, the collective Trials of Many Eebits, are a set of challenges which Eebit, the host of The Faces of Eebit Tournament of Tournaments, has set forth for his seven suitors to tackle in a quest to prove that they are the best possible match for him. Each trial will be announced upon each active participant announcing their readiness for the task once prompted by an Eebot .007 to do so. At the end of a trial, the most glorious Eebit will release a ranked list, informing each of the players on how they did and where they currently rank in the competition. 

Everything will be made clear except for the bottom two, who will be sent to a trial room to argue their best reasons to stay in the competition to the Court of Many Eebits. After their reasoning is complete, each safe participant will be allowed one vote for who they would like to eliminate from the island The Voice the Tournament of Tournaments. Once the votes are collected, they will be tallied and the participant with the most votes against them will be eliminated from the competition, thus becoming an inactivate participant.

Spoiler: How are these votes taken, and what is the difference between an active and inactive participant?

When it comes time to vote, I will ask each of those who are safe to cast their vote via private message to yours truly. You cast said vote by sending me the name of the member or their character's name. That's all there is to it.

Active participants, as their names might suggest, are still in the running to become THE CHOSEN ONEEEEE!!!!!111 They are the ones who will be able to take part in each upcoming challenge and vie for Eebit's heart like nothing else.

Unlike in other RPs, those who lose the game won't necessarily not be able to be a part of it. Once a participant is voted out at the Court of Many Eebits, they are deemed inactive. Inactive participants, however, can still take part in the roleplay but not during challenges beyond a single post denoting what they are doing whilst the challenge is going on for an extra sense of immersion (so as to not make things too murky and disorganized during the most intense part of the whole RP). Inactive members may also not take part in the Court of Many Eebits' jury when it comes time to vote on who to eliminate next.

Spoiler: The standardized voting thing won't work forever, though. What about when we have a Final Three? Final Two?

You're right; it won't work forever! Once we get down to the wire with a Final Three, the participant with the highest overall ranking (the sum of each of their individual rankings per trial leading up to this point) will automatically be pushed into the finale (Final Two). The bottom two, then, will have to argue for why they should have the last spot in the finale in the Court of Many Eebits, and then a jury comprised of inactive participants will decide who moves on in the same way that they would have voted to eliminate someone in the past. 

Let me reiterate: once we get to the semi-finals, it will be the inactive participants voting for who will make it into the finale. This will be made especially clear in private messages to you all shortly after the semi-final trial is over. If it comes to a tie, the member whom the judge (myself) thinks made the better point during their trial at the Court of Many Eebits will move on to the next round.

There will be no plea at the Court of Many Eebits during the finale as the one who wins the trial presented at that point will be made the victor.

It adds its own charm to the RP, at the very least, that's for sure! :5 The boy-toy line had me.

 

I don't see anything particularly wrong with the way you coded your post on my end of things. Maybe it's just appearing a certain way on your phone's screen after you posted it for whatever reason, but it seems fine to me. More than fine, even, just like Eebit was more than fine in how you described him so vibrantly. :5 That was beautiful. Bravo!

Well, like in the real world, people perceive certain things differently than others.

Krista's first posting in an RP ever was a brilliant way to start crafting out her character, I believe! Now we're just waiting on Gist and DA MAN himself before we can go on into the next sequence. :5 Though feel free to continue interaction amongst each other in the mean time! Nice postings so far, everybody! I'm feeling very auspicious about this... beautiful(?) RP. Maybe I'll post something up in there soon myself to add some extra detail to the tower or something. Have homework and some errands to run first, though, before I'm really here to check things off of my ZEJ to-do list for the day.
