Oblivion Phantasy ~ A Decaying Flux 【RP Thread】

Kirin leaned in toward the statue. It seemed almost... alive. That, of course, was exactly when it decided that's what it wanted to be. Alive. It simply sidestepped, as well as the other statue, in order to be in a more protective stand. "So much for the hammer idea..."

She stepped over the corpse to get a better look. She had to wonder what was so great that these guards would be necessary. Whatever is beyond them must be something spectacular. Whatever it is... it must be worth a lot... the weapons she could make...

Kirin struggled out of her thoughts, her hunter instincts for danger almost dragging her out of them. She found herself standing right in between the two statues. Flip! My stupid curiosity is gonna get us all killed! She looked up to the being on her right and placed her weapon on the ground; a clear sign of submission; put her hands behind her back and bowed to the stone statue, ready to back off... Here's hoping...

[Kirin moves to E6. Kirin waits...]

Krie drew in a deep breath and let out a massive roar, the magnitude of his voice filling the small space instantly, the sound waves bouncing off the walls to amplify the sound. The air around him seemed to distort at the sound, flashing red and swirling about like a storm. He gripped his scythe and entered a battle pose. "Somehow, I saw this outcome from a mile away," he growled, smiling cockily. "We want what's in there. They want to keep it to their greedy ass selves. Well lets take it by storm!!!" he shouted. Snarls escaped his mouth; it was as if he were a feral beast, ready to dash forward and tear into their newly made enemies. All he could think of now was putting an end to those statues, turning them into piles of nothingness. Crumble to dust, he thought wildly, struggling to keep his body still, for it was pumped full of energy at the moment. At the drop of a hat.....decimation.

Krie waits.

 

Her motions of peace didn't help much. In a few seconds she was knocked against the wall with multiple injuries. She reacted instinctively. She pointed the mighty lance toward the nearest statue. Flipping a switch, she pulled and held the trigger. A small flame protruded from the end that gradually turned blue before a large explosion erupted, engulfing both statues.

She quickly side-hops and backs away. Distance would be good.

The statues did move.

The massive constructs of rocks and mana had reacted quickly to Delta-Q's attempts to go behind the small crevice where Hiiro could see some treasure chests. Both of the guardians had attacked the girl named Kirin, the one with the sword knocking her back against the wall of the cave. Reacting faster than he could even think, Hiiro ran towards the statues, his right elbow raised in preparation for a strike. As he neared the first of the statues, he pivoted on the ball of his foot, striking at a diagonal angle with his elbow against the rocky Hull of the enemy. Feeling a small amount of pain as he did so, Hiiro grimaced for a moment, but would not give up. The last thing Delta-Q needed was for these hulking figures to get in their way of the path they needed to take.

"C'mon everyone," he said with a strong, almost commanding voice, "We can't afford to waste too much time here. Let's get whatever's past these things and get going."

"YOU BITCH!" Nicoro screamed in an irritated voice, as if Kirin was somehow supposed to know. "I HAD A PLAN AND YOU MESSED IT UP! WAY TO GO!" Taroh interrupted his rant a telepathic message You're wasting time. Cool your nerves and keep going for the plan, they can all take care of themselves. In his rage, Nicoro wanted to argue, but there was no time, and the last thing he wanted to was for Taroh to override his free will for a matter as trivial as trying to make up keep quiet, so he ran up next to the statues and channeled his rage to smash though the rubble that kept him from the mysterious treasure.

 

Even though is group was sort of "cautious", he knew this would be the end result eventually. Now that the statues were trying to kill them, their new goal was to get the treasures and leave. Hendrix couldn't argue with that plan, but the statues seemed pretty damn strong. "Whatever is in those chests better be worth it!" He screamed as he walked over to the two statues. He looked over at Nicoro who apparently had a plan, but got ruined. "Just hurry up and get the treasure before one of us dies."

Hearing the clatter of Kirin’s gunlance on the ground, Kaya looked over immediately. The masses of animated stone had already launched an assault on the girl, and were now clearly seeing Team Delta-Q as their enemy, trying to steal the treasures they had been enchanted to guard. Slapping her hand against her forehead - a reaction Kaya felt was suitable, given the circumstances - the other members of the squad chewed out the young girl for her mistakes. Feeling it best to let bygones be bygones, the illusionist decided to wait out the battle before mentioning anything to Kirin for her brash behaviour…

Instead, the illusionist quietly moved behind the group to get into the range of being able to heal her hasty friend. Standing close, Kaya channeled the wispy tendrils of Light Mana to surge forth from her staff, elegantly weaving their way through the air. Upon touching Kirin’s skin, they immediately began to search out her earthly wounds, reducing them to mere cuts and scrapes. Kaya smiled as she thought to herself; Even though the girl has made a right bloody mess of the whole operation, she doesn’t deserve the verbal abuse from Nicoro. This will obviously need to be fixed...

 

Krie moves to D4.

Upon being hit, Krie was sent backwards from the force of the blow which surprised him to an extent. He crashed right into the young girl that had come with him as part of the reinforcement squad. Kirin. He quickly regained his composure, entering a defensive stance. "Heh, sorry about that, girl. Clumsy oaf like me has to watch where he's GOING!" he said in apology at first, winding up merely growling at the end of the statement. He lunged forth with great force and swung his scythe horizontally leaving a gash in the stone body of the statue that had hit him. He might not be strong enough to knock it back, but his force was intense. The aura around him dared not dissipate for now, the flashes of red lighting the area in his immediate vicinity. "Feels like I'm a fly being swatted around, tch," he said, readying his scythe for another attack and bracing his body for receiving another blow which was sure to move him from his spot once again.

Hiiro looked over to where the statue with the club-like "sword" moved. Seeing that it walked into his allies, Hiiro was content with simply proceeding to attack the one that had just hit him with the seeming rockslide of stones. "If you wanna play it like that," Hiiro said to the barely sapient hunk of earth, "then how about some of this?" As he nearly shouted the last word, Hiiro punched toward the statue as hard as he could, feeling a surge of power in his fist.

Her mistake was causing more than just mass chaos. Everything was happening so fast. The living statues were extremely powerful. She was rapidly wishing she had chosen the Long sword, but it was too late to fetch it now. Everyone must be hating her at this point... and there was nothing she could do. Suddenly she felt stronger. She turned quickly and there was Kaya, curing her of her well-deserved wounds. Kirins thoughts lingered on the idea that she was forgiven, but she knew it was just to benefit the group, to get them out of this mess... the mess she started.

She needed to do something and just as she was about to move, Krie came crashing into her. He muttered an apology and went right back into the conflict... where she should be now. Paying for her mistake.

There were people everywhere, and she had to fight for them. No, with them. Maybe she could help clear a path... or something... do SOMETHING! She moved for a better position, and fired her lance, the explosion meeting up with the statue.

Nicoro passed though the rubble and walked onto the a heavily guarded chests. Taking the time to completely ignore his surroundings, he made a slow, dramatic march to the chest. Upon reaching his destination, he removed his sunglasses. Sunglasses that he just then had added to his appearance. For the purpose of removing them.

Meanwhile, Taroh sat by the post, watching his allies struggle to fight off the statues. They would probably win, but the danger value was high. From his observations, one statue seemed to focus on magical abilities while the other went for physical. The way things were going now, nothing was working very well. It wasn't his problem however.

The rock figures had entered the fray… their Mana-constructed bodies were more than a match for the team that was haphazardly leading an attack on them. Kaya could not bear to have the group so disorganized; she needed to restore order. Harshly, her voice hoarse and dry from lack of use once more, she called out, clearing her throat as she did so, “All of you, STOP! We need to reorganize; there is no way we can continuously mob these statues and hope to not get flung around like useless rag dolls!” The agitation in her voice was dripping as though gashed from a wound.

Upon finishing her speech, she frowned. The members of Team Delta-Q were apt fighters, of course, though they knew very little in the ways of systematic attacks. Their terms of strategy stood only in the moment, and had nothing to do with the ebb and flow of any arduous battle before them. The Mana constructs would wipe them out if they were not careful, and Krie and Kirin - the newcomers - were already being tossed about.

She decided to re-evaluate before making any further commands. Her fury would clearly get the better of her if she acted too quickly, or took out her lack of control on her allies. This would not win her any respect. Begrudgingly, with her typically kind face creased with anger, she trudged towards the nearest stone golem. Surging forth from her wooden rod were two interloping vicious serpents of flame, illuminating the scarce-lit cavern with a brilliant red palette. Smirking in rage and malice, though also satisfaction, Kaya basked in the venomous light they brought as the jaws of pure flame engulfed one of the two guardians…

 

Krie moves to E6.

In all essence, Krie realized that his attack really hadn't done much except for the tiny gash in the body of the statue at which he grimaced. Though embracing the chaos of this battle wholeheartedly, he knew that Kaya was very right; the others couldn't fight efficiently like this. And neither could he, really. Despite enjoying the heated atmosphere, it was severely limiting his ability to fight back. He growled slightly and rushed away from his target, dodging about Hendrix as nimbly as a rather large man could and came to stand behind Hiiro with hopes of having better luck with this statue instead. Krie took a moment to breathe down Hiiro's neck. "A little back up?" he uttered simply with a strange grin and raised his scythe into the air before bringing it down vertically upon the statue in front of Hiiro, the range of the weapon long enough to connect without any interference from his ally. He retracted the scythe and gripped the shaft tightly, awaiting action from anything: his allies, the enemies, or whatever. To be consumed by the chaos...

Kirin finally noticed what was happening. Nicoro was to collect what was in the chests, while the rest of us keep the statues busy. Had she not let her curiosity get the better of herself, they probably would be out with the treasure by now with minimal injuries. Now they were struggling to combat the guardians while not even a single trinket has been collected yet.

She had to do her part, though. She could worry about the thoughts of her allies after they were all successfully kept alive. Moving forward slowly she let loose another blast from her mighty lance, knowing it wouldn't have much effect.
