[Freeform] Runic

A young man stumbled down a dark alley, presumably intoxicated. Tattoos covered every inch of skin on his body.
Something inside him ticked and he rolled over in pain, clutching his forehead. The black ink rose out of his skin and began to float around him, like little dark fairies dancing. The cracking of bones could be heard as the man’s skin turned grey and sickly. He tried to scream as his eyes burnt out of their sockets and his fingers stretched and elongated. His knees cracked and broke, leaving him unable to stand up. The ink suddenly converged back into the man, dancing across his skin while he screamed in pain.

Maria stared at the glowing blue marble in her hand as she relived the man’s pain. She had a similar tattoo on the back of her hand, shaped like an eye. She wrapped her fingers around the orb and stared at the tattoo, smiling as it winked at her.

Reviving an old RP from over at Magnolia, since I still have the proper massive document that goes with it.

Essentially, you have this EVUL curse that takes the form of tattoos (Runes) on the cursed one’s body. They give the person extraordinary powers, at the cost of their humanity and their sanity. As the Runes spread around their body, their powers get stronger, but they get closer and closer to the deep end. And then they just snap. Yay.

So, yeah. Questions? Interest?

 

Anthro? Well, they'll have to be a Runic. They'll have to start off fairly human and become furrier the more their Runes spread.
