~Armonia Chronicles~ .:Feign of Paradise:.

Discussion in 'Roleplay Archives' started by crazE, Oct 13, 2012.

  1. Roymus’ frankly creepy smile was broken when the light consumed the group. It served to highlight just how dirty his dress had become. As the voice lectured on the importance of this adventure, he frantically tried to dry and clean his dress (succeeding mostly in smearing the dirt everywhere), as he nodded his head, attempting to verify to someone who was not even there that he was indeed paying attention.

As the light faded away, Roymus’ filth was hidden, and apathy once again took hold. He kind of wanted to say something. Just to see what he could find out about the group. Before anything could come to mind, the women came running. Her dress even more ruined than Roymus’ own, making him feel a kind of sympathy… A sympathy that was heightened dramatically when he noticed the women was under direct attack.

As Roymus drew his blade, the swordswoman in front of him immediately cleansed herself of the rainwater. He almost dropped his sword, gawking in envy as she did with ease what he had been spending most of his time curious attempting to do. There was much more to learn here than he could have hoped. He smiled, much more naturally this time. “I’m going to enjoy you people. I can just tell.”

    Roymus starts at A5.

    -----------------------------

The rogues stopped in their tracks as their eyes flew from the woman up to the people who stood in the way of the forgotten cobbled path, immediately halting their apparent "fun", for the smiles and snickering sneers had been wiped clean off their faces. The woman, who now crawled toward and behind these fighters, pleaded to all of them in frantic babbling, occasionally grabbing onto one of them and pleading with all her muster as she gestured to the thugs who had apparently beaten and torn at her. "They... They swarmed our village and took the children and they-" she cried, before finally falling behind the group and breaking down nearby a tree a bit behind them. Her energy was plentifully worn out, and she was definitely in no mood for anything but to rest and stay away from these horrid people.

And these horrid people responded, one of them (who seemed to be the most angry) took a few steps forward, drawing what seemed to be blades fashioned from some sleek wood. The very weapon seemed completely baffling to be in a battle, but their make showed that they could still be used to some degree of battle. He pointed it at the girl in front of him, growling, "I've never seen people like you all, but you're all going to regret going against us. No one has defied us in this town, and we're going to give you the reason why."

Just as he said these things, a familiar light aura seemed to emanate off each of the group member's weapons, then it slowly fading as if never happening. The voice returned, and as it seemed to be confirmed by the rogue's ignorance to it, it was only heard by each person in this small group. I will aid in this battle. I will not allow the wicked overthrow the weak. Neither will you all, for I know your hearts. Please, use the courage I know you all have. Use the power you all possess, and I will reward you at the shrine. You will find it; it is in the village ahead. Please make it there swiftly, more are within, and ravaging all's homes...

The voice gave off a desperate sigh, its voice echoing and fading, Please, make it there in time to save my people, and to prevent my prison from being taken.

Thunder crashed through the stormy skies as the battle began.

  4. Crissie did not need further signalling or prompting, even if the disembodied voice would not have spoken again, telling the Flare Warrior that she was going to aid her in whatever astral ways this higher entity could achieve. Through the nightly haze, the twin flames of her eyes once again checked her--their?--opponents. They were minimally protected despite the wide-scale assault that she was made aware of, their weaponry only consisting in roughly-crafted edges of metal she assumed were makeshift blades.

The Flare Warrior said no other comment--limiting her likewise limited time to concentrate... and invoke her own Mana. It become visible as soon it left her body, flaring out like an instant, ethereal flame as it was transformed into Fire Mana. Instead of dispersing, however, it focused on both weapons, drawn out as twin strands for each katana which circled their blades before finally wrapping around them. When their color shifted, from the dull metallic one to a combination of yellows and oranges hinting an affiliation to the flames her soul burned with, she knew she was ready.

    She smirked.

  5. Hmm, I'm still wondering just what that mysterious voice that contacted us even has to do with us. I mean... one minute I am doing my training out in the courtyard, and the next minute... I'm here? Well, lets not question this for now... I have some work to do! Wyatt accessed his surroundings... Three rogues spread about in an almost less than tactical approach. Two of them were somewhat close together though. The other one was going around the side to try and flank them... "He he... I guess now its time to test my skills!" Wyatt dashed up only about 2 meters away from the lone Rogue, and lifted his sword in the air. "Lightning Strike!"

  6. Leon took a step forward, concentrating mana into each wand, as they began to give of a great deal of heat from their tips, steam coming off, just like the girl with two katanas. Letting out a breath of air, he grinned, before raising his wands, and in the next second the thug just ahead of him, was hit by a powerful fiery explosion.

Leon moves to B6, and then casts Fire Bomb on Hoyt for 5 INT damage. Element: Fire. Chance of Burn. 19 MP left.

  7. Drenched hair appearingly blinding Allister, the song of the dancing rain only to be disgustingly disturbed by the taunting of foolish sound. It felt like even the very earth would not want these souls to be on the dirt of innocent grounds. The blackened sky and the dim lighting gave allisters hair the saturation of a coal black. Gripping the handle of his blade he watched the young woman plea and gave a an assuring nod to her as she backed off with the utmost fear. Allister averted his eyes with a sharp glance and couldnt help but think "Wooden swords? I guess they are mere boys, not men."

    Allister approaches  to D5

(C4)-The sound of rock crunching and the smush of sod beneath his colossal blade grinding against the foreign land.

(D4)- The armor swayed to his left with the murderous gaze fixed on all of them in silence with the sound of his other "Comrades" moving to their seperate destinations.

(D5 End) Sounds of the armor stopped in time and Allister let a proud phrase of ridicule escape his thoughts. "If foolish children wish to act like men, I shall treat them as so. "Welcome to your dirt naps shit whistlers." If only others could feel the confidence he had right now, anybody had the stupidity to do anything. A smirk then portrayed on his face showing both aggression and stupidity.

Immediately, Angelo regretted coming down from the safe, sheltered cradle that the trees had been providing.

The vicious crashes of thunder that seemed to be ever encroaching on the group, coupled with the staggered, intermittent flashing of the sheet lightning that followed it caused Angelo to become unnerved. He had seen trees felled in mere seconds by storms that grew this close. The rain buffeted his face, as well... but the most unnerving part about the entire scene was the way the woman ran towards the group. A horrified, defenseless look on her face. A wild look in her eye. Desperate. Pleading. Angelo could feel her emotions resonating. He wanted to go and comfort her. To tell her that everything would be okay, just as he had told the trees. But he felt rooted to the spot... Just let me go HOME! he shouted in his mind. He was not ready to save this 'Paradasia.' He didn't even know what a Paradasia was...

How can I be expected to help someone when I don't even know what I'm supposed to do...!

And then he saw them. Their terrible, sneering faces emerging from the depths of the darkness beyond the visible path in front of the assembled people that Angelo had been silently watching from the trees. The people that had caused the woman to suffer, with their polished wooden blades - removed from the trees without their consent, no doubt. And their words... they were threatening the people that Angelo had been following... and him. But he still had the element of surprise on his side... he knew that they would never see him coming if he kept hidden amid the trees. They would protect him. Please... please. He mentally reached out to the massive palm trees that stood tall and defiant against the storm. He begged for their blessing... but in response, all he could hear within his mind was the voice of the woman. Soothing, assuaging... with a grim message. More?! Angelo gasped inaudibly. The woman had a hold on him... but his makeshift boomerang seemed to glow with her words. Bright, but not so bright as to blind anyone. Or to give him away...

From where he stood, he knew he could move close enough to strike the nearest of the brutal men that were bringing the suffering to the land. Angelo did not understand why some people would turn to such a life. Could nobody simply be at peace with the trees of this land? They seemed so afraid to be near the humans... it scared Angelo. What did that mean for him? And where was he, so far from the Forest Sanctuary that even his presence as a scribe of Nature would not cease their scattered, and always cautious thoughts... The young boy frowned. He knew that it was time that he put his plans into action... but he would need the blessing of the trees. Lend me your strength, o' trees... he called out in his mind, weaving himself a path to remain unseen by the adversaries of the small group of people. Strike forth. Coil around...

And suddenly, a vine surged forth from the nearest tree. Then another. They coiled in a vicious dance of nature around the nearest man, wrapping about his legs and chest and constricting upon him, quickly removing the passage of air through his body. Angelo smiled, bowing lightly in the direction of the tree, as was respectful in his culture. Thank you... I will help you. Please, just help me...

  9. “Alright, Let’s stab us some dudes!” Roymus shouted as he swiped his sword around him in a somewhat poor attempt at a flurry. He posed himself to leap into the fray (literally,) but before he got anywhere he noticed the swordswomen in front of him yet again. Setting her sword alight with a mana fueled flame. Another augmented sword user? Her power didn’t seem to come from an arcane source though; it was coming from a more innate power. He couldn’t help but feel jealous once again.

Roymus wondered to himself what potential could be unlocked when two of his trade were working together. “Hold on now, dear.” He spoke in a loving, playful voice, “Let’s be thorough with our enchantments, shall we?” With that line, the Spellsword struck a pose. It was an odd pose; his right leg was thrust forward, with his left arm held upwards above his face, the right arm stretched out flat towards the back, and both hands had their fingers curled. The second the pose was struck, one could hear the ringing sound of a tuning fork, and with it, the Flare Warrior in front of Roymus was covered in a beam of yellow light. The beam itself lasted only a second, but once it dissipated, Crissie was left covered in a yellow aura. It took the form of a flame, to match the fire on her sword, creating a orange-yellow gradient of fire on her hands.

“Promise me you’ll have fun with that.”

    ~Enemy Phase~

A blast of fire launched from the apparent mage's wand and struck one of the thugs with a burst of blazing red, causing the man to take a step back. A second prepared to strike, only to suddenly feel lightning-brighter in intensity- strike him short, falling to the ground a moment before slowly returning. The one who had been stricken by the fireball attempted to return his stance, but was cut short. It was absolute horror as roots- coated in a strange energy- attempted to rip him back into the earth, to hold him and consume the lowly man as if he were meant for the dirt. However, the man slashed the roots in the desperate fight for survival, tearing and gouging the roots and vines as if ridding the world of some horrifying beast. It may as well have been; who had ever heard of an aggressive tree?

The third thug, who seemed untouched, took the moment to look at his surroundings. The trees, now more ominous as ever with their swaying branches, seemed to echo their allegiance to someone else. His eyes slowly came down to a boy, not so tall nor muscly, who stood near one of the large jungle plants and whispering inaudibly to seemingly nothing. The thug knew, with an aggressive scowl, that this boy like the rest had some sort of magic and was currently using it. Seeing how his supposed ally had been ripped at by these trees, he took no chances. "Boy, you best be getting out of here!" he shouted as he charged. Raising his blade, he took the boy by surprise and struck out at him with fury.

Meanwhile, the two previous rogues regained their complexion. However, one seemed stiffened- constrained so to speak. The metals about his body- seen and unseen- seemed to be vibrating or moving strangely. Strenuous groans came from the man as he marched forward, feeling a horrible weight pull him toward the earth. It was as if all the metals in his possession were turning on him, forcing him to retreat to the dirt and lay there. He refused, obviously, but the effort was slowing him down, something he did not wish for whatsoever. The other took a strike with his blade at the lightning-quick being in front of him, taking a defensive position once in case, checking the sky in case another crack of thunder struck.

As if punctuating the early beginnings of the fight - the strikes landed upon the men - the storm crackled menacingly, vicious winds rippling through the trees, as though forcing them to confess the small boy's position. He was spotted immediately under his cover of the tree, as the nearest rogue approached. The companion of the one that Angelo had channeled the will of the foreign trees to strike... and he certainly looked the furthest possible from being amused by the prospect. Angelo winced at the malice in his eyes. He thought that he had been well-covered by his newfound friends, the trees... but as the man lumbered forward, he felt himself rooted to the ground beneath him, utterly helpless in the face of the strange adversity.

The lumbering assailant drew closer. Angelo winced, even before the man raised his weapon, cringing at the thought of the impending strike. The trees recoiled, seeing a piece of them being wielded to attack Angelo himself. ohtreeshelpme he rushed out in his mind... but it was too late; they could not shield him in time as the weapon smacked upon his skin with a solid crack. "Ouwawwauww...!" He howled out in pain as he felt something burning against his skin; the sensation of the pain? Or something else? Angelo didn't have time to determine such a thing. If the others had not been aware of his presence before, he had certainly just drawn all of their attentions upon him now. A hand cupped his

His breathing shallowed as his pulse quickened. Angelo quivered slightly from the aftershock of the impact of the wooden blade, rain buffeting his fragile face and leaving his tangled, wild green hair in a matted mess atop his head. It seemed that the blunt edge of the weapon had been coated with some sort of residual toxin that he had only escaped the effects of due to his lack of unopened wounds - there was no possible way for the poison to enter his bloodstream... just yet. However, the weapon still hurt. He had been sent reeling from the blow, stumbling backwards in a stunned sort of way. He leaned against the nearby tree for support, unconsciously withdrawing Mana from to replenish his slowly-depleting reserves. Noticing this, he quickly stopped, whispering a hushed "I'm sorry..." to the gargantuan palm tree, looming undaunted, indifferent above him.

A choked sob escaped his lips as he lifted a finger, pointing at the man who had attacked him. He mouthed again, asking once more of the trees to entangle themselves around the man. This time, the vines would surge forth, twisting violently around the man just as it had his companion earlier on - the gesture that had attracted the horrible rogue's attention on him in the first place. How did I get wrapped into this...? he pondered, rhetorically. Why had he of all people woken up in this strange realm? Where were his mother and father? The trees of the Forest Sanctuary...? Angelo just wanted to go back...

...and never return to this 'Paradasia'...

  13. Wyatt's pulse was racing. The adrenaline of actually getting to use his skills in combat... it felt amazing. As the lightning strike came down, in a blazing hot pillar, striking the rogue known as Vex. The strike dissipated, and the rogue was already back into action, pulling out a wooden sword coated in some substance. Slashing up at Wyatt, Vex managed to land a strike on his arm, the wooden sword somehow managing to slash into him. He grabbed onto his arm, feeling the pain shoot up into him... He started to feel fairly dizzy, but he shot it off himself. "Ouch... it seems that these wooden toys have been sharpened quite a bit. How about I show you more of that electrical power I demonstrated earlier!" Wyatt shot off the pain, focusing on putting his power into his attacks. He raised his sword in the air again, and called upon the power of the sky to aid him yet again at striking down Vex.
