Advice for Finding a Writing Community?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by whitesubtitlesoncanadianwinter, Mar 10, 2015.

  1. Currently most of my poetry and stories are hosted on DeviantArt which (as I'm sure we know) has it's troubles and has never really been suited to writing.  I had managed to join a decent small little community and received some quite nice attention.
The rest of my writing is split between tumblr and a blog.

I am hoping to consolidate and move all my writing somewhere new.  Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

I've been through the same thing, and unless it's fandom related, there's basically only wattpad (that I know of). I personally dislike wattpad because it's interface confused me, which was highly unnerving because a friend of mine (who never understands interfaces) totally got it, so I just feel wattpad is really weird and confusing.

  5. I did a little bit of Googling.

Scribophile guarantees 3 critiques per work you post, but in order to post works you need to critique works as well. Not sure how active you want to be for that, but that's a matter of choice.

I used to use Figment for a while and that's owned by HarperCollins. Very nice community, very large, but sometimes hits aren't guaranteed. You'll have to work the forums a bit.

This website encourages roleplaying! But it also looks like a lovely community. I just don't know much about it.
