In the Mist

Discussion in 'Freeform Roleplays' started by Reinia Arring, May 12, 2017.

  1. Reinia was covered with her long, leather trench coat, walking through the streets of New Verona. The same place Romeo and Juliet's tragic love played out. The two golden statues of the star-crossed lovers were deteriorated, Romeo's head on the ground, and Juliet's arms were either stolen or rusted away. Reinia was now crossing the city square where the two lover's statues were met, the city bustling with shopkeepers and carts. She stepped out into the busy streets and almost got hit by a cart.

"G'd-evening, Mad--" a gentleman said while passing by, his words were cut off when he was rushing past her. She shook her head and smiled, flicking a switch on her belt to turn off the lights on her hood. She would buy some food and escape into the mist once more.

She escaped back into an alleyway, biting into the delicious, warm, honey bread she bought. Rarely, would she eat, as she carried little to no money on her. Reinia then heard the crunch of footsteps in the dirt. She put on her rusted respirator, going further into the mist. This 'mist' was slightly toxic, mostly CO2 from the factories that were here years ago. She walked over, looking around.

It was only a small Jarrow. This creature was adorable in looks but vicious. It had large ears, a small tail and something like gills to filter out the toxins in the air. She knelt down offering it some bread. The creature grasped it from her hands with its mouth and scampered off.

She stood up before she heard an audible loud noise. Her head jerked towards the sound and she ran. She was running towards her safe point, the creature behind her growling. She felt the air's movements, as it was thick and riddled with chemicals. Her next instinct was to fight, but she knew she was in trouble. She was probably being hunted by one of her victim's helpers, after all, she did need money so she could be hired to snuff out someone.

Reinia dived into a small hiding spot, hoping that someone would come and help her, but for all she knew is that she was doomed. Her heartbeat sped up, her eyes searching for some safety.
