The Lost Prince of Elysia: The Shining Tower

Discussion in 'Interest Checks' started by Gist, Jul 28, 2015.

  1. Sandbed Acropolis, The Kingdom of Elysia, Year of our King 211

In the small world of Gestein, there had once been many peoples that had vied for control of the northernmost continent. People and creatures of all kind had torn at each other, trying to erase one another’s presence so that they alone could have this continent for themselves. This bloody conflict, now noted as the War of Tears, had gone on for almost a quarter of a century before finally being grinded to a halt by a brave hero that shone amongst the rest that he was against. The name was Justinien Faust, and this name became common knowledge, but not because of any feats in battle, but because he had brought the land to peace. By some strange works, Faust had managed to quell the violence between the peoples and secure a name for himself, thus beginning a unification under the standard of Elysia. Shortly afterward, a tall tower was erected in the center of the city, just behind the main town square. There was always an odd feeling in the air near the tower, as if it was trying to take the life out of everything around it. What had been lush with vegetation became barren around the tower, and soon, it stood atop a dune of sand while the kingdom around it flourished with life. Yet the tower itself had also seemed to be flourishing; it shone each night with a bright light that served as a beacon for those who were lost in their way. Faust and his prodigy kept the tower shining bright, and the landmark was thus named the Shining Tower. However, the means of keeping the Tower lit were unknown to the denizens of the Kingdom, as it had never come within their means of living...

For a long time, the denizens of the Kingdom of Elysia had lived in unity under their various rulers, the latest being King Lamoroux III, and as the present King’s health was declining, an heir to the throne needed to be declared. Two siblings could viably compete for the throne: Princess Natalia and Prince Varush. As both had equal likelihood of being able to inherit the throne, they needed to be trained in the royal ways. However, one fateful morning in the summer of the two hundred and eleventh year, the young Prince Varush had seemingly disappeared, spirited away as if he had never existed. People had searched in outrage, demanding whomever had abducted the potential heir to the throne be brought back, but to no avail. It had seemed that the young prince would be forever lost… yet the Shining Tower was glimmering brighter than it ever had. The more skeptical minds of the Kingdom were beginning to question the origins of the Tower and why it existed in barren land when the ground around them was arable. Words were spoken, and soon, King Lamoroux III issued a decree, demanding a search of the Shining Tower to find Prince Varush as that was the only place that had not been searched. However, if legends were to be believed, those that had went to the Shining Tower had never returned to tell the tale about it.

Will this band of adventurers taking the call to arms be able to find the Lost Prince of Elysia, or will the fracturing Kingdom fall into war once more?

For those of you who have not inferred from the topic tag, I intend for this to be a Statistical Roleplay, following the ZEJ standard of Shadowsystem 2.3.0. If you are not familiar with the recent changes to the system, please make sure to read the patch notes.

Now then, I do not intend for this to be a normal Statplay by any means. Oh no. This will be quite the oddball out, in that this Party will only go through one story arc. Yes, you read that right, this Statplay only has one Chapter in which your characters will traverse, searching for Prince Varush in the Shining Tower. As a result of this abnormality, profiles to be submitted will need to be Level 7 (which entails an unlocked X-Ability). If you weren't alienated by this fact and are still reading, then I sincerely hope that you send me a profile! Your characters' Equipment may have EITHER 4 Stat Points of bonuses OR 1 Stat Point and a passive effect. In addition, I am allowing your profiles 3 Upgrade Points with which to spend, as prior to the search, they have been active within the Kingdom and thus honing their skills.

I would like at least one player at the very least, but no more than three. If you're interested or if you have any questions/comments/concerns, feel free to post in this thread. Hopefully this can take off! <3

  2. I'm interested. Will make a profile soon

  3. Sounds like fun. Lemme see what I got for ya~

  4. If either of you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.

  5. only 2 A-Abilities at level 7?

  6. I listed the two fields in the profile because I'm not limiting you to what you can spend your Skill Points on. You can add more A-Skill slots as you see fit if you choose to purchase them. The traditional build for Level 7 seems to be 3 A-Skills, B, R, S, and X-Abilities, and an E-Trigger, though that does not stop you from building differently if you choose to do so.

  7. I apologize that was a brainfart

  8. Positions for this one-chapter Statplay are closed. Thank you to all who expressed interest and sent a profile, the RP thread will be up swiftly.
