Rise of the Keys: Radiant Garden

  1. Radiant Garden

A once beautiful world, it was turned to ruin by Maleficent and the Heartless. When Sora and his friends took control back from Maleficent, it underwent reconstruction. Alas, Exonius and his army took it by force, and in the battle reduced it to a pile of rubble. It is now very resemblant of itself during KH II.

"Where is that Halloween freak?" yelled Olenx, the Nobody who had challenged Halloween Town to a duel. "Are you afraid? Is that why you haven't shown up?"

The murk of the eternal dusk cast over the rebuilding city played with the features of the landscape; weaving a picture of the battleground of light and darkness between the buildings and crumbling ruins of a rebuilding effort long past. The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee had worked so hard for their work to fall once more to be reduced to rubble by Exonius and his cronies… It was enough to make one sick; and sick it made Marilyn Rosswind as she sat noiselessly in the shadows. It concealed her from her would-be opponent for the time being. Such a feat was amusing to her as she toyed with him before the fight had even begun.

The malice of the Nobody had shocked Marilyn initially, though it was not entirely unexpected of the being. Standing, she emerged from the shadows in a swift movement, clearly behind the Nobody in his howls of rage, and obviously out of sight. In her grace, the movements of an accomplished fighter were displayed in their most pure form. The air seemed to slow around her as her haunting eyes pierced the way ahead; the gentlest of warnings before the windstorm would begin. She smiled a cold, macabre smile. This will truly be a fight for him to remember. Tapping her opponent on the shoulder, she had him turn to face her before shouting a thunderous, ironic “BOO!” directly into his face.

Letting out a chuckle, the smile faded from her face and was replaced by a more serious visage. “I’m ready. Draw your weapon.” With that, in a singular motion, she withdrew her weapon from its place on her hip. She brandished the Poltergeist Voice in vicious arcs, before tapping her opponent on each cheek ever-so-lightly. “Listen here, good sir. Don’t waste my time with this fight, okay? I want this to have been worth my while.”

"HAH! You're my opponent? This will be too easy," Olenx said, as he drew his weapon, a strange combination of a revolver and a broad sword. "Ok then, let's do this," he said, as he made a wild slash at Marilyn's right side, hoping to catch her off guard.

HAH! You're my opponent? This will be too easy.

Marilyn smiled sadly as she saw that her opponent was underestimating her due to her frame. She let out a long sigh, and dodged the vicious slash of her opponent’s weapon by leaping to the right with speed that was almost unhuman. Her counterattack saw her whipping Poltergeist Voice down upon the exposed back of her enigmatic opponent; an attack which would leave gashes aplenty.

The man was inexperienced, it seemed, in the art of combat. This gave Marilyn the upper hand quite easily in the beginning. I hope this doesn’t turn out to be the waste of time it appears to be… she thought, bored, to herself. Shortly after her assault on her opponent’s back, she let out a rapid Aero, harnessing her control of the winds to cause a powerful gale to blow around her; green hair blowing in the wind. The windstorm instantly lifted the Nobody into the air above Marilyn, where she would immediately follow him with a leap upwards, stabbing her épée upwards at the underbelly of the man.

As she maneuvered through the breeze, she settled herself down gently onto the ground, as her opponent came down with a loud CRASH to the grounds of the rebuilding cobblestones of the Radiant Garden. As much as she didn’t want to damage the territory of the Rebellion, it was a measure she deemed necessary for the time…

Olenx was surprised by this girl's power, until he saw the hilt of her rapier. It was a skeleton key, marking her as a key wielder. He realized, he needed a different approach for this fight, and jumped back, shooting a dark firaga from his gunblade. "A key wielder, huh? We'll see how long that lasts." He lunged at her with his weapon flaming, and made a wild slash at her left side

The shadowy blaze of the Dark Firaga caught Marilyn off guard as she attempted to dodge it with a powerful bound over top of the Nobody. She landed first on his shoulders, keeping her safely out of the way of the man’s wild slash, and - she hoped - his Dark Firaga. His reflexes seemed to be the spot she could best him in, which allowed her to make a carefully-executed Aero to launch herself higher above him. Her emerald hair gleamed in contrast with the dying glow of the Radiant Garden.

While midair, she made some quick assumptions in her head; her wits carefully battling that of the reckless and slow Nobody who was her opponent. As a fencer, she knew of the importance of agility through any means possible, and dodging the attacks of an opponent was entirely key. However, as a citizen of Halloweentown, she held dear the principle element: that of surprise. She positioned herself in a way that would place her behind her opponent, allowing her the attack that could give her the upper hand.

Landing gracefully with the dying breeze of her Aero spell, Marilyn lunged forward, and with a wicked slash of her épée, attempted once more to dispatch of this nuisance once and for all. Thoughts flashed through her head on a very rapid basis; What if he catches me with that Dark Firaga? Have I really underestimated my opponent so poorly that I could be ended right here, right now? Shaking her head and viciously slashing Poltergeist Voice on the backswing across the back of the Nobody, she freed herself of these thoughts.

    No, I won’t die here.

As Marilyn slashed Olenx's back, the Nobody turned, causing the slash to land on his side, and opening a long gash on his side. "Owwww! That was a cheap shot! You'll pay for that!" Olenx yelled, as the pain of the slash started to affect him. He slashed his blade around wildly, attempting to hit Marilyn. As he slashed he shot a Dark Firaga. He then surveyed his surroundings. To his right was that magician, Merlin's, old house, and the old base of the Restoration Committee, and to his left, a row of houses, viewed from the back. All around them was the defence system, and he realized what he needed. He pulled out his communicator, a small Keychain in the shape of a star, with the Nobody symbol in the middle, and pressed the centre of it. "Code 146, M Quadrant," he said, indicating his predicament.
