New Years!

  1. It's that time of year again! You know, the time when... it turns the year. That special sort of day where you are supposed to resolve to do something different as you observe the ball dropping... or whatever special traditions you may happen to have!

    Do you guys have any big plans for New Years, or maybe a New Years Resolution that you'd like to share with our fair community? Let 'em out in here!

    I'm gonna go over to my grandparents, as usual.
    Sucky internet ;~;

    As far as resolutions go, I.. Don't have anything in mind really, just to improve myself and my life overall. The general stuff that shouldn't take a new year to improve; get better grades, lose a couple pounds, stop bad habits, and keep the relationships I have with people.
    Well, I do aim for some specific things like earn enough money for Kid Icarus, finish the driver's ed I've lagged for about 6 months, stuff like that, I also just want to sharpen and tone my skills with gfx, drawing, writing, and cooking. :D

    My family tends to ignore most holidays, they just don't care (we do celebrate Christmas, though). For resolutions, I hope I can finally stop procrastinating work and organize my time properly. I'm also going to stop frequenting random chats and image boards so I can focus more on my hobbies.

  4. My New Year's was spent doing a scavenger hunt that had to do with relatively little clothing at points and talking to strangers (and getting hugs, etc) for others. Other than that I hosted a gathering of friends with some... less-than-sober activities going on. Mostly leading to me cleaning stuff up. But hey, I had fun watching people drunker than I doing stupid shit. Paid a friend twenty bucks to kiss another friend of mine (which she did begrudgingly and tweeted at me asking if that made her a hooker), and then saw my best friend kissing his girlfriend at midnight. So you can say that I had a decently eventful night... I guess. :p

    As for resolutions... well, my resolution for the past couple years has been not to date anyone, and being that that has worked out nicely for me for these two years, I was told by someone at midnight this year to change my resolution. So for the moment, I don't have one!

  5. I try not to live by yearly resolutions, and more-so by the natural establishment or disestablishment of life-long habits depending on what I feel I need to do at any given moment. Nonetheless, I see the fun in doing so and all that, but for my own agenda, they're just a tad bit silly. I do wish you all the best in achieving your New Year's resolutions, though! For our celebration, my mom, dad, sister, the dogs and I just had a nice, quiet midnight watching the ball drop in New York City on Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve hosted by Ryan Seacrest, out of tradition and all that. The following day, we hung out with a best friend of mine and his family for the great majority of the day, and got acquainted with several mutual friends and just had a nice, good ol' fun get-together between families. It was pretty darn fun!

    2013 is off to an interesting start, a little bumpy here or there and with new, strange surprises around every corner, but at the end of it all, I'm sure that we're all in for another rewarding year!
