More "TWEWY's Future" Speculation

It's not hard to state that, for a TWEWY fan, the recent months have been an emotional roller-coaster quite gripping. What with TWEWY characters getting cameos in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, the teaser site and it's suspenseful countdown, and that same countdown's admittedly... unexpected result... those of us who hope more than life for a TWEWY sequel have been having our hopes and expectations tossed from one side to another.
I've seen so much evidence that whole chunks of TWEWY fans are enraged at the teaser site and anticipated countdown's subsequent unveiling; a remake for iPads and iPhones, with (for now, at least) principally no new canon or story added to it, eliciting groans that the whole "port" was a mistake and a waste of resources. Some more sensible-- yet nonetheless disheveled-- people have concluded that if we do buy the iOS remake, we'll only get more iOS action from the TWEWY franchise; something most of us would not prefer over traditional consoles. And if the iOS game isn't bought, any plans for TWEWY are void due to Square Enix having to logically interpret the poor business as a lack of interest.

What many people didn't see coming, however, was this:


I hear this picture is added into the secret ending in the iOS remake.
So many ideas, at this point. Sequelteaser? Add-on content to the iOS game (in which case I would totally steal one of my family member's iOS device and buy the TWEWY remake)? Some kind of odd inclusion that is merely a hollow easter egg of some sort? I honestly don't know what I'm talking about by now; someone please shut me up. IS IT NEKU AND SHIKI'S CHILD!?!?! SOMEONE GET SOME DUCT TAPE FOR MY FINGERS TO CEASE MY TYPING.

I intend this thread to be for speculation on this incriminating picture, and also to become a ZEJians' first stop to share new information or rumors regarding the TWEWY franchise.


Also, may I point out, in the picture, Mr. Mews seems edgier; is that a spiked tail? *gasp* And are those claws? Perhaps this new character anticipates having to use her beloved stuffed piggy as a weapon.
