~Mirror Magic : Dreams of a Resolution~

Discussion in 'Statistical Roleplays' started by Mystletainn, Mar 11, 2014.

  1. The woman smirked, golden eyes gleaming with a sudden fire. "Lass has some backbone," she stated almost happily, her slight grin widening. "Very well," she added after a moment, "I retract my prev––" It seemed, however, that her comment could not be finished, for at that very moment the enormous blob returned fire on the ragtag gathering of dreamers. The attack did not scathe Rose in the slightest, but that did not stop her from turning a harsh glare on it once more.

    "Foolish," she growled, raising her guns at the beast once more. One round quickly followed another, the woman standing stone still. "If any of you cause that thing to heal itself..." she spat rather loudly, eyes darting to each of her otherwise denoted "allies." "I will kill it and you in a hot second," she finished, training her golden irises back on the blob.

    Black Rose attacks ?! 2 Hits! 8 FOR Damage per Hit! Chance of Reduced!

  2. [Noir Moves to E4: {E3—E4}]
    [Noir uses his Basic Attack on ?! LUC: 6 damage!]

    Noir had seen it coming the moment he had tried to spear the weird umbral miscreation with a blast of his energy—he -knew- instinctively that he was going to pay in some way. He saw it when his attack assimilated with the energy flow in the shadowy mass, and only served to strengthen and augment its power. And now he was berating himself—the voice in his head, more precisely—for this misdeed.

    Well. WHAT A LOVELY TURN OF EVENTS, EH?

    "Please don't kill me?"

    WELL, I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT! No, I don't! You'll live and cavort around the countryside having the time of the day with these new friends of yours, and you will have picnics and string daisy chains together and make popcorn and watch films and enjoy life! Nooooo, you won't die for cause of this monster at all! And when you don't, these nice lovely people won't kill you! You'll wake up from this dream happy and cheerful with your life all i–

    "Hang on! So this is all a dream? I'm not in the Soisyshtra? I can just wake up and everything will be back to normal?"

    …oh dear Syhelluce. Haven't you a brain? I've already explained that I am a part of your mind. Which, O blessedly brilliant one, means that I can only beat into your brain what is known to you, as I know only as much as you. Now shut up with the dumb questions.

    Noir, agitated and distressed, tried to push the intrusive and largely unsympathetic and unhelpful voice out of his head, trying to focus on the battle at hand. "Umm… so since this… Dream Energy? Is that what this stuff is? Well, it doesn't seem to work on it…" Noir looked down to find his shield fallen a ways away, on the edge of the void, the huge obfuscated precipice–like, depthless pool on the floor. Um That shoudl work fine. Walking towards the dangerous beast– hang on. You said that thing could kill me, but it barely made a scratch on me. Meaning I could survive against it! Thinking thus, he edged his way towards his shield, seized it, and in a swift and elegant motion, plunged the sharp end of the shield into the black mass, and wrenched it out—only for virtually no scratch or tear to be seen.

    Yes. Please do proceed to tell me how easy it would be for you to stand up against this thing. Yes, I would like to hear that tale very much. You must have such experience battling monsters, since you're saying it so confidently! Ha ha ha! We are saved from all disaster.

    At this point, all Noir could do was groan.

  3. Rhyme moves to cell C-7

    The force from the explosion seemed to have been absorbed into the dark blob. Whatever it was apparently it didn't take much of a liking to explosions, which was odd because explosions made everything better. Poo. She was hoping to see the globs of black goop or whatever it was fly everywhere after being blown up, but nope. The glop apparently isn't very blow-upable. Rhyme let out a sigh but seemed to immediately perk up, a grin spreading across her face. "You're absolutely right!" The girl exclaimed cheerily even though no one had spoken to her, "That does mean more shooting! Yay! You come up with the best ideas. Thinking is so hard that I don't know what I'd do without you." With that little outburst over Rhyme raised the gun she held as she maneuvered closer to the blob. She pointed the barrel straight in front of the dark mass of whatever it was made of and pulled the trigger, giggling as a spray of bullets punctured several little holes in the blob.

    Rhyme attacks ?. Hits cells B-5, C-5, C-6, and D-5. 10, 8, 8, 8 ATK Dmg.

  4. {Lissa moves to C2 [C1 - C2]}
    {Lissa basic attacks ? (C4)! Also targets ? (C3)! 7 IMG Damage, 7 IMG Damage!}

    Too late.

    Too late Lissa realized how vulnerable a position she had placed herself in purging this undefined area from the smaller, humanoid glob of darkness. She had evidently played right into the hand of the apparently-sentient thing at the room's centre. The woman who had tried her patience had seemed at least marginally impressed by her display, but it didn't matter. At this point, the gun-toting woman could easily capitalize on Lissa's compromised position, as her mind was numbed and ringing from the wail that the writhing mass of shadow had emitted. Stupid girl... she chided herself, much like how her mentors would have while she trained. Stupid, stupid girl... maybe you are just a mere child. Her thoughts were a tangled mess as her confidence escaped through every pore of her body, eroded by the blast of energy that punctured her soul.

    All that came into her mind was negativity. She just needed to rest... she just needed to escape this place, with its peppering of gunshots, its screams of an otherworldly horror. Within the monster's howl, she could swear she heard the cries of the Beyond. Was she... was she going to join them? She could feel tears welling up in her eyes from the sheer mental strain of it all.

    The words of the woman slowly made their way back into her mind as her ears stopped ringing.

    "All the children want to play until it gets serious."

    "All the children..."

    "...children..."

    And finally, Lissa answered the mental chastising. "I am not some weak child," she spoke quietly and through gritted teeth, like a breeze whispering through trees. Her resolve was building, churning around within her. Soon, she was a gale-force windstorm, rising to her feet once more, preparing to rip through the shadows and scatter them into the Beyond. She was Alissa Diomke. Last in the line of the Spirit Invokers. There was no stopping her now. Not when she had trained for years for this. Without any more warning, she brought her pitchfork back and thrust it straight into the core of the shadows, preparing herself to shred it into oblivion.

    And now the darkness seemed to be shrinking. For what it was worth, the figures, kidnapped and released in this room of vagueness and of the chaotic and antithetic mismarriage of light and dark, had attacked the monstrosity of the fears of their worst nightmares, and it was shrinking, slowly disappearing into the void of white. It was impossible to tell if it was truly alive, and if so, if it had died - but one thing was certain - it was equipped to attack and devour every thing and being in its wake.

    Rhyme's eyes widened and she leaned forward, her curiosity almost succeeding in compelling her to go forward and poking at the dark viscous blob. It had receded, as if her bullets (the others attacked it too but they don't count) had caused it to shrink and cower in fear. Either that or it was just because the thing was getting pelted with tiny little pellets of metal death and was on the brink of dying. Ah yes, death. The very idea of it put a huge grin on Rhyme's face. The young girl suddenly had a very unnerving glint in her eye, as if someone had given her a very very good (bad for anyone else) idea. "Of course, Jimmy would have more bullets." Rhyme exclaimed, seeming to be talking to no one in particular, "And more bullets means more fun for us! You're a genius!"

    Before anyone would be able to comprehend what Rhyme meant she had already swapped her weapons and now held her minigun. Another glint flashed in her eye and she began to fire. Bullets sprayed every which way as the girl didn't even bother aiming her gun, knowing that if she shot everywhere there would be nowhere for the blob to hide. Not that she had seen it move at all but it was better to make sure. Besides, just hearing the sound of bullet shells falling against the ground brought so much joy to her heart.

    With an air of triumph and a flourish of joy, the girl who pointed the gun at the dark mass on the ground fired twice at it. The first shot brought the mass down to its final dregs of conscious; the second took mercy and rendered the mass to the soft arms of peaceful oblivion. The mass shrunk more than it had yet, and shrunk some more, all until not a tiny speck of shadow was visible in the room with the harsh light. And the aura of hate and fear diminished in concord with disappearance of the phobic entity, a calm and dreamy feeling taking its place. The harsh light began to dim, and the exceedingly brilliant white was reduced to softer tones, sparing the eyes the strain. At least, for now… the threat of death by fear was gone.

    In the place of the Phobos now shines a new, stranger light that spreads throughout the room. This one is not so harsh, and manifests in a rainbow of muted colours that harmlessly lick the soles of the feet of these various battlers. One threat has fallen; but what of the other? What will happen to those who fought together, unknowing of the nature of their allies?

  9. A huff. "Well that was pathetic," Black Rose muttered to herself, pistols disappearing in a flash of blood-colored light. The murderous aura that had surrounded her during the battle too faded out, leaving only a bitter woman standing with arms crossed over her bosom. A moment of silence passed; her foot started tapping impatiently. "Well?" she questioned aloud to no one in particular. "What's next? That can't be it, can it?" Her voice was harsh and exasperated, she clearly had no time or patience for inaction.
