Marvel Cinematic Universe Ideas

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Wonder Smash, Aug 9, 2011.

  1. Okay, so I'm sure a lot of us are aware of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For those of you that aren't aware, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, is a collection of Marvel films that share the same continuity. So far, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America The First Avenger are all a part of this continuity, but many more movies, including next year's film, The Avengers, and even some short films are planned to be included in the continuity. The possibilities of what could be done have inspired many fans, including me, to think of several ideas for the future of the MCU. However, it seems weird for just one fan to be thinking of all of the ideas, which is why I've thought of a collaborative MCU Idea thread where anyone who's interested can post ideas for movies, short films, and maybe even other forms of media that can take place in the MCU. I think it would work in a way similar to how ideas work on Smash Bros Mercurious, but scaled down. If enough people are interested, I'll go through with this, and probably put it in the Creation Station. What do you guys think?

  2. Resurrecting this topic. Not quite sure what everyone's stance on Wonder Smash's excitement of five years' passed as far as the Creation Station idea goes; it's cool on paper, but I'm not certain that we actually have the install base for a topic like that to really gain any meaningful traction (I mean, unless I'm proven wrong). What this can incite is some nice chatter on the MCU, ey? A lot has changed over the past five years, after all!

Is anyone looking forward to Civil War this May? I'm more excited for it than I have been any MCU films, and there have been a couple of fantastic ones in the past (Guardians of the GalaxyWinter Soldier), alongside a slew of pretty good ones (Ant-Man, Iron Man), so that's saying a lot. A hearty sum of why that is has to do with what I believe the repercussions will be for the future of the Avengers and MCU from Civil War onward; make no doubt that, if this follows the general idea of the comic arc of the same name, we are in for some major changes.

For those of you who've seen the trailers, do you think War Machine will die in Civil War?
