DISCUSSION How did you get into roleplaying?

  1. We all started somewhere! A question that bubbled to the surface of my mind tonight was "how did you get your start in roleplaying?" It's a topic that I'm sure has been discussed before, but it's always fun to take a little stroll down memory lane and talk about those magical first forays into the grand world of collaborative stories. Even if those fresh footfalls are maybe a little embarrassing to recount.

The first instance of roleplaying that I'd actively taken part in was probably on a Yoshi fansite that was up on the web a looong time ago - I'm talking around 15 years back when my family bought our first home computer. I'd injected myself into an ongoing fanfiction starring multiple Yoshis and that was about that. Although, if you wanna talk about the first, true, sinewy experience with roleplaying that I'd taken on, it was at SSB Mercurious, the Smash Bros. fansite that @Eebit, @Flamezone, @Zantok, @turbotaxer, myself, and a few others here at ZEJ first met one another. Eebit decidedly introduced us to RPs in the form of the first Ultimate Tournament freeform, which eventually helped in birthing ZEJ itself. 

    Fun times.
