[Freeform | Original] Fragments of the Deadly Sins

Inspired by Mothy's Judgement of Corruption
Poem adapted from E. E. Knight's Age of Fire​

First beware Pride, lest belief in one's might
Has you discount the foe who is braving your sight.

"We can take over Hell itself."

Never Envy other men in wealth, power, or home
For dark plots and plans will bring death to your own.

"This place of eternal punishment can, rather, become a utopia for all of us..."

Defer not to Wrath, when your first tactics fail
Anger kills cunning, which you will need to prevail.

"I just need one thing: your cooperation."

All men must rest, but Sloth you should dread
Else long years of napping let assassins to your bed.

"There's a reason they keep us separated down here, separated by the sins that landed us here in the first place. They don't want us mixing."

"Greed is good," or so foolish men say
Until piles of wealth bring killing thieves where they lay.

"Have you ever wondered why that is?"

Hungry is your body, and at times you must feed
But indulging in Gluttony sows a cumbersome seed.

"I've found them out. Collecting the fragments of the Seven Deadly Sins... that's our chance at claiming this place as our own."

A hot Lust for glory, power, gold, or mates
Leads reckless young men to the blackest of fates.

"And this is why I must ask for your cooperation. I'm only gathering a few of you, but don't worry...

... You're all so very useful to me."

I've been talking about this for a few days and have now put the interest check up, obviously. The basic gist of the roleplay is that the main character(symbolizing Greed) has discovered a way that he thinks will enable him to not only escape Hell, but take it over and turn it into a utopia. This does mean that yes, he and the other characters have died and gone to the Underworld for their sins.

This roleplay combines the Judeo-Christian concept of the Seven Deadly Sins with the Greek concept of the Underworld. The line between the two is rather blurred and I typically don't like to touch upon things like this which come close to religious undertones, but the inspiration I got for this was so worth it.

Due to the nature of the roleplay I need, ideally, six other players; if absolutely needed you can double up. I tried to make this as different from Eebit's The Spectrum Effect as I could; he's told me that tSE involves the virtues and sins on a more conceptual level, while this is more literal. Despite the banner, colors play no role in this roleplay; the ones in the banner were chosen quite simply because they represent each of the seven sins.

Giving this a week before I give the go-ahead to double up on the last sins. Already got someone interested in Gluttony.
