[Freeform] [Fan - Pokémon] Raised to Win

Discussion in 'Interest Checks' started by Keileon, May 5, 2012.

  1. Thought I'd post this... it's originally a fanfic plot I had, but I'm making it a roleplay. It's Pokemon, alright- with a darker twist to it.

In a region I have yet to name, things are much as they are in places like Kanto or Hoenn. Gyms, a Pokemon league, trainers aspiring to be the best... and criminals. The top sport, while illegal, is to raise Pokemon for the sole purpose of pitting them against one another and take monetary bets on which one will win. Winning means momentary safety, praise from the breeder, possibly fame if one goes far. Losing usually means death, though a few breeders will spare the opponent. However, battles are terrifyingly brutal, and even if the loser survives it is often too maimed to continue fighting after recovery. Losing Pokemon are frequently abandoned and left to die. In fact, it was the rash of mortally injured, seemingly wild Pokemon appearing that clued the authorities into the deathmatches.

This is going to be a persistent roleplay; that is, there is no central plot or set endpoint. Players may start up their own plots within the RP. Who's game?

  2. I guess I'd be up for this ~

  3. I'll try this.

EDIT: OH MY GOD! I suddenly remembered - didn't you once suggest this idea to me back in the CoU days?

  4. Whoa. That shits deep. I'm in.

  5. I like dark stuff. I might be interested.

  6. Yes, yes I did. :p

  7. Hmmm..... Death you say? Im going to choose stupid pokemon specificly so I can watch them die...... LAWL

  8. This reminds me of dogfights for some reason (where the losing dog usually gets shot to death or kicked by its owner, depending on how much money it lost its owner). The concept intrigues me all the same though; I'm in.

  9. If it's Pokemanz I'm always down B)

  10. Same here. I love me some Pokemanz.
