Nah, I vastly preferred Ocarina to Majora. Majora was weak compared to its prequel. =[

Can you please explain to me in any way how Majora was weak in comparison to OoT? Please do not tell me you are one of those bandwagonners who are all over OoT just because ZOMG FIRST THREE DEE ZLEDA!!!~~!!!!~!~!

I like OoT, and I've played it a TON. Don't get me wrong. MM just had far richer storyline, gameplay variety, connotations, atmosphere... Everything. The Moon, the desperation of saving the world in a matter of three days... Even the mindless NPCs work according to the time system. It is actually a thing of beauty.

 

Nope, I'm not all about OoT because it was first. Seems a silly reason to like a game. =\

Actually, in retrospect, weak seems like a wrong choice of words. Personally, the storyline is very good. Rich, as you say. But the mechanic of the Song of Time/Song of Double Time was slightly confusing and annoying; even with a guide I couldn't get past the big boulder the guy is chipping away at for a few days because the instructions were so vague, compared to usual Zelda standards!

I liked Ocarina better because it didn't try the usual Zelda tricks and presented an simpler yet adequately challenging story, which was refreshing in itself! On the other hand Majora's Mask was slightly confusing - almost as much as Homestuck - and not well explained IMO. =/ That may be more due to the kind of English I use not matching witht he kind of English the game was translated into, making a connotation gap.

I think that the developers worked very hard to make this game and succeeded for the most part, but just made the game a little hard to understand.

 

I prefer Majora, although that may be because I played it before Ocarina. My only issue with Majora, THE FREAKING HAPPY MASK SALESMAN!
