The Sound of the Heart

Every night the same sound reverberates through the halls. Long ago it was low- a faint noise you could easily ignore. Yet with each night it grew louder until it was as if the sound was from right outside your ear. No one else seemed to here it! How could they not!? It was such a deafening tone, able to keep you up hour upon hour at night. Convinced you were mad they sent you away, sent you far away to a school, established that year, with others like yourself- surprisingly unguarded or fortified. And there you stayed where they all knew you weren't mad- they heard it too! Hah! If anything those back where you came from were mad for not hearing it! And one night as you sat alone in your room- the sound grew louder than it had ever been before, and a strange creature came to be before you. And you understood now what you had heard- the heart. The heart of a being born from the unknown.


Now was the time to go forth- go forth and destroy those that have wronged you.

Yay- school setting with hallucinations! You can pick what your creature is, yes. And yeah, everyone can see the creature as long as they've heard a heartbeat.
