Tales of Alidaire: The Struggle

Discussion in 'Statistical Roleplays' started by Masquerade, Jul 19, 2011.

  1. After nearly all the others has completed their shopping, except for Bin, Loresai herself walked into the store known simply as Rebel Arms. Weapons and armor lined the shelves and walls. Noticing the swords, Loresai took careful observation of the many shapes and sizes that were offered. Save for a few that almost seemed to radiate power, they all seemed to be of a surprisingly — or maybe not so surprisingly, depending on how one looked at it — low quality. Even the rapiers seemed to have a rough finish about them. Ignoring the normal swords, Loresai turned to the ones that stood out. However, none of these really seemed to please her.

A blade of a bright blue color stood out over all of them, dazzling despite the low level of light in the store. Loresai made a small hiss of disgust at it — it would suit Alexandra perhaps, but not a vampire that sneaked around during the night. Another that did not suit Loresai a bit was a sword that seemed to be made of a reptile's scales. It simply had the wrong shape entirely.

Another sword caught her eye, one which she did not doubt would be a swift weapon. However, this one was simply not quite what she had in mind. Still looking through the swords, an object caught her eye — a piece of cloth linked to a piece of strong wood. An parasol hidden amongst the rest of the swords, as if the one who made it was embarrassed about the item. She picked it up, feeling a weight that the wood and cloth belied.

Loresai smiled then, and walked to the counter. No doubt the man at the counter would be disturbed by Loresai, but the vampire simply placed the needed gold upon the counter and walked out, looking at the weapon.

"A new layer of blood would no doubt be welcomed upon you," she said quietly to the weapon. Then, she walked into the room that was deigned for the group to regroup in, noticing that Mai, Hikari, and Helena had already come. She did nothing but lean against a wall and give a strange smirk to none of the others in particular.

  2. Bin saw the girls leaving the group to buy new weapons and took it as an invitation to do so himself. He came across the sword Mai had put down. He wondered what was wrong with it. He picked it up, only to suddenly begin to daydream about a sword duel with Nothus, atop a rope connecting two high buildings. Knowing he would fail horribly if he where to attempt to use any physical weapon, he put the sword down and took a look at the armors for sale. Among the armors there was a dress for sale, it looked rather out of place, probably for the more extravagant of fighters.

He turned back around, not finding any of the armors to his liking, and saw he and missed a magic item among the weapons. He picked it up and admired it, it was the first real magic crafted weapon Bin had the chance to hold. The weapon stores Bin had come across where never open when he was around, which would be to say, at about 3:00 AM. He took a look at the price where it had sat. 105 Gold. Not the cheapest thing in the world, but he could afford it. He came up the the shopkeeper with a light smile. Without saying a word, he pulled a rubber duck out of his pocket and held it over the counter. "Donno di-var" he spoke as one might if they where asking a favor. With a disturbing quack, the duck spat out 105 gold coins. Not a coin less, not a coin more. "I trust this will do sir, a pleasure doing business with you." Bin said in a polite voice as he put his new wand into his robe pocket. How exciting, an actual magic weapon to try out. Bin almost felt like he wanted to get into a fight.

  3. Alexandra watched the others meander off to buy their whatnots. She wasn't quite ready to go into the meeting room at all. In all honesty, she probably never would be. She didn't care for Nigel, as she figured the others didn't as well. Nor did she care for this whole assassination plot. Perhaps it was fate that led things to be the way they were. To think, none of the others wouldn't have been caught up in all of this mess at all if they hadn't heard that weird voice. Heading into the armory, the noble sighed. She gazed around vacantly at the different weapons, picking up swords and scythes and whips and daggers. They had some heavy artillery, but it wasn't convenient for quick travel. Only someone with an immense amount of brute strength and a large body could use that sort of stuff. She caught sight of a few lances which made her think of Nothus, always carrying around his, and in battle, he used it so majestically. She could see how someone could consider his appearance horrid, but to Alexandra, he was a creature of pure beauty.

"This one seems pretty interesting. Might I purchase it?" Alexandra asked the clerk, putting a saber onto the wooden counter, the hilt eloquently crafted and the blade shimmering blue. She didn't really care what it did, but it had to be more reliable than the one she had, which was secretly only intended for practice fencing, but had been forced to be used on real targets only recently.

"Y-Your Highness," the clerk stuttered and bowed deeply. "That there's the Blue Saber, an hommage to a very special class of warriors that learn things from their enemies and then use the enemy's own skill right back at it. This one seems to be imbued by the power, but I don't believe it holds much potential for learning skills. You'd have to be a blue mage yourself in order to harness it's full power."

"It'll suit its purpose just fine, thank you," Alexandra replied with a charming smile as she set some gold on the counter and replaced her old weapon with her new one. The group seemed to be running low on funds at the moment, but at least they had some new stuff to try out in battle, which she foresaw even without stepping foot in the meeting room. Of course, that was the only place left to go, so there she went.

When she entered, she realized the others were there as well. Nigel was busy writing something on a chalkboard on the far end of the room. Most of the room was occupied by a long, old, wooden table accompanied by mix-matched wooden chairs. Most of them looked like something you'd find at the dining room table....only in worse condition. There were a few plants in the corners of the room to, Alexandra supposed, liven things up a bit. The walls were made of compact dirt. Wooden frames lined the walls, top and bottom, and wooden planks could be found lining the corners as well. The only thing nice in the room was an amazing armchair at the head of the table near the chalkboard. It looked like something you'd find in a noble's manse which caused Alexandra to grimace. Surely it was stolen, but she sighed, for now was not the time. The rage came back when she realized it was Nigel's chair, for he finished scrawling and took a seat in it leaving the others to have the ragged chairs.

Aside from her own allies, Nerra and Nara were there along with Masquerade and Nothus who gave her a quick wave upon seeing her. Sirius was standing next to the chalkboard. He seemed to be quite....vacant as usual, seeing as how his facial expression was hidden by cloth. I wonder how he disappears all the time. It creeps me out. What's his story anyway? Alexandra wondered as she moved over to a seat near the head of the table, one Nigel or Masquerade must have reserved for her, most likely the latter. Regardless, she took her seat and Nigel cleared his throat.

"So, it seems we have everyone now," the man said calmly which was sort of weird. Then again, it was likely that he took this part of his so-called 'job' very seriously. "Let's go over the facts. For one, we know we may as well give up on assassinating our king. He's completely innocent, it seems." He paused to allow Alexandra to sigh in relief and he smiled, oddly enough. "Turns out someone with a powerful grasp on magic has placed something in the castle, whether it be a cursed object or a magic glyph or what have you, it doesn't matter. What matters is that the magic is having a negative effect on Albert's disposition which is causing the entirety of Dalmaschior to suffer. Whoever is behind this crime needs to be assassinated." Nigel coughed and straightened out his shirt before standing up and walking about the room a bit. "So, our primary objective is to cut the source of magic that's in the castle so maybe we can get Albert back to his old self. The least result would be stopping the progress of insanity coursing through that man's mind. There's a problem though."

Sirius took a step forward and proceeded to elaborate with his monotone, almost robotic voice. "There are two problems in actuality. One is that sneaking into the castle is not going to be easy with the High Order Knights around and Alexandra's status being that of a fugitive. We won't be able to use her to get in. The other problem happens to be a bad influence on Albert one that would surely only complement the black magic affecting his mind. That would be the magistrate of this city, Allera. He will have to be taken out first before we can get into that castle. Allera will make Albert paranoid, ordering the High Order Knights to guard the castle more thoroughly. Not only does eliminating Allera prevent this from happening, but it will also cause a distraction."

"Now listen closely," Nigel interrupted causing Sirius to shrink back to his original position. The old man placed his palms flat on the table and gazed at those sitting at the table. "After Allera is assassinated, the guard around the palace will be unbreachable. Period. We'll be dealing with all the High Order Knights, and frankly, that's something I'd rather avoid. Hence why you'll be slipping into the castle while everyone departs to see what happened. One of my assassins will be sure to inform the castle guards, they'll get the High Order, and in the chaos, you'll slip in." He looked at Masquerade. "Where was the feeling coming from again?"

"Definitely below the castle," Masquerade answered honestly. He had been paying attention the entire time despite not going on the mission himself. "Milady, do you have any idea?"

"The abandoned stockroom. Beneath the dungeons. It was a huge warehouse, but the poor conditions made it a bad idea to store food down there, so now it's just a place for junk. No one ever goes down there," Alexandra responded. She couldn't think of any other place. "It's the perfect place to cast dark magic and not be noticed."

"Very well then." Nigel stood up straight and pointed at the chalkboard. Apparently it was some sort of map. "You all know the magistrate's manse is located near the courthouse in the central part of town. With all that's been going on, he'll most likely not be home, but in the courthouse itself. In his office. It's a straight shot. Infiltrate the building, take the corridor all the way down to the courtroom and take a left. Second room on the left is his office. Your mission is clear. You'll strike this evening. If we wait too late, he'll return home, and that won't be in our best interests. My eyes and ears say it's more heavily guarded than the courthouse. Expect confrontation. Any questions?"

  4. Mai took a seat and listened silently to Nigel's words, her mind stuck in complete turmoil. Everything said seemed to be against all that she'd wanted not to do. Assassination? That was in no way part of the code the vowed to. Mai, stuck in a fit of anger, stood up as soon as Nigel was done talking.
"I've about heard enough of assassinations." she declared, pulling the seat out of her way. "My mentor would be sickened hearing me sneaking around and killing people like wolves. I've just about had enough."

Mai turned and headed for the door. Even though her words were true to her heart- she truly despised this plan in every way, and what she has come to be- something screamed for her to stop and come back. It was the same feeling that drew her to the street that day, the influence that caused her to defeat the bandits assaulting Lady Alexandra.

This is different, she told herself. It was her duty to protect and defend when one needs her. But this, it was straight out murder. Even so, something pulled her to come back, to set it all aside. Why am I having this conflict within me? What causes me to set aside the pride of my warrior heritage?...

  5. Loresai listened rather intently to the plan, letting none of her feelings show while sitting in the uncomfortable chair of the style that most everyone sat in, save for Nigel, who sat in his chair that was a comparitive throne. However, as he finished relaying his plan, Loresai gave a curt smile, which was interrupted by Mai's sudden outburst. The girl began to storm out of the room. My, my what a stuck up— her thoughts were caught by Mai's sudden pause, then the girl started to return.

"Don't fret too much dear," Loresai said, hardly wishing to comfort her, but keeping her caring, almost motherly even, tone. "Sometimes what is necessary is not the . . ." Loresai paused for a moment, searching for the right word. As she found it, she gave a smile and continued, "right thing to do."

Loresai stopped there. She said what she wanted to say, and did not wish to prattle on further about ethics, if only because her ethics were, by most chances, far different from anyone else in the room, let alone the honor-boumd Mai.

Loresai then put one of her pale hands on the table, her long, claw-like nails drumming upon it in no particular tune. She was already getting tired of this meeting. Discussions were not her place — she far preferred the feel of a blade raze against the flesh of man. Simply put, she was already bored.

  6. Nothus stood from his seat with a grimace. He circumvented the table and approached Mai, placing his two taloned claws on each of her shoulders gently. He spoke to her, making sure to keep his voice quiet so none of the others would hear. "Let me just say I know where you're coming from, and little do you know, there are a lot of people here that don't like what they're doing. Masquerade himself hates sneaking around like this which is why he doesn't get along with Nigel well." The serpent smirked. "Well, no one really gets along with him, but still. We're only doing what we do because it's what's best for our country. And even better, we've found a way to save our king. At hearing this news, the assassins here will rejoice because that's what they've really wanted all along. None of us have the heart to take the life of our beloved ruler, no matter how insane he might be, but Nigel has the mindset, and he's willing to stop at nothing to get what he wants. We're not like that." He released his grasp on her and sighed, tapping a foot against the ground in thought. "No one should be forced to do what they don't want to do. Hell, Nigel's not even your leader. If you don't want to go through his plan...um...well,....."

Nothus's voice trailed off as he thought some more. He could feel Masquerade's eyes on him which made him a bit nervous. His eyes opened wide suddenly as he came to a conclusion. "Hey, if you don't want to go through with the assassination, I'll fly you to the castle later and we'll stake it out together. Until your friends get there, that is. The assassination might be out of the question, but you do want to investigate the castle with them...right?" he questioned.

  7. Helena largely ignored Mai’s outburst. She resisted the urge to nock an arrow to her bow and startle the girl who was so… arrogant. So self-righteous in everything she did. Before she could even begin to conjure a witty remark in her mind, Nothus was consoling the girl. Helena clicked her tongue inaudibly, arms crossed as she sat in her chair. Nothus was a kind man, belying his appearance. Helena had the utmost respect for him, and did not question him as he tried to clearly change Mai’s mind… though with what words he was using, she was unsure. All Helena knew was that there were many eyes on the two of them.

Attempting to get the attention off of Nothus and Mai, she turned back to the matter at hand. Recalling the conversation as it happened before the interruption of Mai and her obsession with morality had entered the picture, Helena thought of Nigel’s words.

Whoever is behind this crime needs to be assassinated.

You certainly have a penchant for assassination, dear Nigel… Take a look at the bigger picture. She remained silent with this observation, however, not wanting to enrage the person who had begrudgingly taken them into his top-secret branch. Instead, Helena commented, “Seems pretty straightforward… do you have any sort of… what would you call it… intel, perhaps? On just what Allera is capable of?” She crossed her legs and leaned back, “I wouldn’t want to be as ill-prepared for this mission as the last.

  8. Mai once again felt the warm scaly embrace of Nothus's hands on her shoulders, causing her to relax a moment. She listened to his words, her mind slowly clearing as the general view came to her. The only reason there WERE assassinations was because everyone was trying to better their country by disposing of the corrupted rule. But still, it seemed so brutal. Although she enjoyed a good battle, she never took a life for personal reasons, only for defense, although she found her will wavered by the pressure into assassinating the king....

Mai sighed. Maybe she should've never left the mountains, her temple. Her master was right, maybe she wasn't ready to go into the outside world.

"Hey, if you don't want to go through with the assassination, I'll fly you to the castle later and we'll stake it out together. Until your friends get there, that is. The assassination might be out of the question, but you do want to investigate the castle with them...right?"

Mai turned around, smiling weakly and nodded to Nothus. "Yes, thank you..." she mumbled. At least she could try and help whatever she was sucked into in some way. She detested these assassinations, so this stakeout Nothus had proposed didn't seem that bad. Plus, Mai though, it might not be that bad to try and get to know such an amazing man- or whatever Nothus says himself to be.

Mai slowly sat back down, not paying any mind to the eyes that had focused on her outburst. In a way, she felt embarassed, and blushed due to it. But she sat up proudly. She gladly voiced her morals, stood behind her beliefs, and she needn't let any one person take that from her.

  9. Nothus went back and took his seat, Masquerade staring at him for a few moments making him shift in his seat uncomfortably and roll his eyes before Masquerade grinned and whispered something into Nigel's ear before he could answer Helena's question. "Very well. Looks like your comrade here, Mai, is going to help keep an eye on the castle while you guys perform the assassination which ain't a half bad idea. If something unpredictable is to happen, she'll be one of the first to know and then Sirius will let the others know," Nigel explained before focusing on Helena since she had brought up a good question. "Considering Allera's probably been warned by Nanila about the assassination, he'll be ready to fight back. If Nanila didn't receive a vision, then it should be a simple job. If he does fight back...well, we don't know what he can do, but it can't be much. Sources say he's not a very powerful man. We know he has a big hammer that he likes to swing around, but how good is he with it? Sub par at best." With that, he crossed his arms in satisfaction.

"Seeing as how you are going with one less group member may I propose sending Nara and Nerra with you as well?" Sirius suggested. "They are the ones that are professionals after all. Sending them would further ensure that this plan would be carried out without flaw."

"Logical thinking as always, Sirius!" Nigel exclaimed and gestured loosely toward the girls. "You're going with them, understood?"

    "Yes sir."

    "Yes sir."

"Excellent. If there are no other questions, get some rest and you'll head out this evening just as the sun is setting. You're dismissed." Nigel stuck around in the case that there were more questions to be asked.

  10. With no further questions, the group went on out of the room to waste time until it grew a bit darker out. Sirius appeared before everyone to let them know that the sun was setting, so it was time to set out. The group headed up the ladder and into the cold, dingy, rundown cathedral, sneaking into the streets. They were forced to follow Nara and Nerra who knew quick paths through alleyways and side streets before reaching the central district. The courthouse was an elaborate construct, a combination of sleek, ebony wood and eloquent golden metal. Not too far from it rested the magistrate's own mansion, a large wrought-iron black fence surrounding the well-kept yard and garden. It looked just as nice as the homes in the noble's district, if not moreso. The setting sun seemed to elevate the feeling of peace that had settled over the area, though the would-be assassins knew that things were far from peaceful. Traveling up the daunting stone steps of the courthouse, now closed at the moment, the group was forced to come to a halt.

Three paladins were situated in front of the double doors leading into the building. They were at arms the instant they saw the group. "So it is as Nanila has predicted!" the one in the middle shouted, waving his sword threateningly. "Come, assassins. Let us put you in your place!"

"Fuck, they've been warned," Nara cursed as she pulled out her daggers. "At least we were prepared for something like this."

  11. Loresai gave a wry smile as the guards stopped the group in front of the courthouse. She gave a strange, almost loving look to the parasol by her side. Pulling on the end, she pulled the blade out of its sheath on which patterned cloth was attached: A long, thin, menacing blade that seemed to glare at its attackers with the same bloodthirstiness that Loresai herself now held at them. "It is time to break you in," she hissed to the blade with a wanton lust.

    {Loresai starts at cell E3}

  12. Hikari starts at E5.

Hikari readied her mace in response to the middle Paladin, placing herself between Lady Alexandra and the young assassin who had accompanied them in Mai's stead. The White Knight shifted into an immediate battle stance, already focusing her Body Mana in preparation to casting for support, should her allies require of it. Hikari was sure her physical attacks would have little effect on their bulky body armors, but if she could draw their attention, it was more than enough.

"No," she challenged the Paladins, "Let US put you in your place."

  13. {Helena starts at F5}

As the group had made their way to the preset point where they would be entering, they found themselves stopped by some guards. And we chose to enter the front door… why? Since when are assassins meant to be polite? Helena thought to herself, slightly irked at the fact that they would now need to fight their way through the specialized guards that had been posted by the door. “Right. Guess we’re going to keep being theatrical, then.” She grabbed her brand new bow off of her shoulder, nocking an arrow and readying herself for a quick battle. “Time to give this a little bit of a test drive…” she said, acknowledging her bow.

Just don’t get in our way for too long, okay?

  14. All seemed set as both sides prepared to fight, but apparently, not all was as it seemed. A whirring sphere of flame spiraled downwards from above, curving inwards and striking the front paladin with a mighty burst. A person leapt from the top of the building, her lithe figure landing gracefully on the steps. She wore a black jacket with a short red skirt. Upon turning, she gazed at the party with questioning crimson eyes, an eyebrow raises. Her jacket was unzipped revealing a wondrous white blouse. The sound of her boots hitting the marble steps resounded as she approached the party, stopping behind Alexandra and placing her hands on the noble's shoulders.

"I wonder if what I'm looking for is in this building," the mysterious young woman said aloud. "If that's true, I'd better help you guys blast your way in." With that, she released Alexandra and pulled out a bow from behind her, one that was scarlet red and lacking a bowstring. She twirled it about before gripping it tightly and taking aim at one of the paladins.

    "Name's Kat, by the way."

Alexandra uses Graceful Curtsy! [User ATK and INT +25%]

    MP: 12/20

Alexandra marveled as the fireball descended from above, crashing into the lead paladin. She had turned to see the new arrival on the scene. The girl was an odd one, and as she approached, the noble's grip on her saber tightened. She almost had a heart attack as the intruder placed her hands on her shoulders, but she didn't feel too threatened, especially after hearing her words. "I don't know what it is you're searching before, but if your goal is to get inside, then our endeavors coincide for the time being," Alexandra stated diplomatically, still a bit nervous. She wasn't too sure about this woman, but for the time being, they had bigger fish to fry.

She turned around to face her enemies, giving them a practiced curtsy. "Well, gentlemen. Only one of us can prevail," she commented firmly, her stance becoming defiant. Having knowledge of the duty-bound guards of the city, she knew they would not relent so easily.

    Alexandra waits.

  15. A blast erupted in the face of the lead guard. Looking towards the rest of the group, Loresai tried to identify the source of the attack. As far as she knew, the resident spellcaster had stayed behind in the dilapidated cathedral used as a base by the rebel group they had found themselves a part of. She was mildly surprised to see the woman that had introduced herself as Kat. Without letting even the small amount of surprise show Loresai chuckled loud enough for everyone to hear. "You'd better have more of that," she said, giving a wicked and wanton smile as she turned back toward the enemies. They would need a spellcaster here -- these men seemed to be well-equipped to handle physical attacks.

Loresai strided forward toward the guard that had just been attacked by the spellcaster. A strange energy coated her hands as she did. Red sparks drifted off of her long, claw-like fingernails. Lifting her hand, she thrust it into the lead guard from the side, though obviously it was not the nails the man should have worried about, but the energy that coated her hands. The red energy seemed to draw the blood to it, converting it into the energy that Loresai would need. "Now die," Loresai whispered into the lead paladin's ear, her smile never leaving her face.

Still irritated at the distraction of the guards, Helena found herself mildly amused by the newcomer and her magical abilities. They were slightly out of the ordinary, as was her unconventional weapon - a bow, which lacked a string. Curious. Helena looked over the girl once more, before nodding in something that could have been construed as approval. “Helena. Charmed.” She said shortly, not wanting to waste her time with words in what was about to be a heated battle. Peering over Hikari’s shoulder, Helena tapped the White Knight on the shoulder with the edge of her bow, hoping she’d get the message and reposition herself in a way that did not obscure Helena’s shot.

At this point, Helena’s lips curved upwards in a smirk, ready to overdose the lead guard with a quick shot of adrenaline. This ought to change things up a little bit… Helena thought to herself, not bothering to share her thoughts out loud. She channeled her Mana to her already-nocked arrow, smiling away and hoping that the crash from the adrenaline rush that she was about to give them would be enough to allow the assassination party time to slip past them.

  17. Hikari casts Anti on Keegan! Haste is Alleviated.
    MP: 20/30

"And who exactly might you be, 'Kat'?" Hikari said, having watched the woman's unorthodox entrance. The flames dissipated, revealing an obviously scorched Paladin. This woman was indeed powerful, but why exactly did she come here to assist them? Hopefully, this would be answered later.

The White Knight moved slightly aside upon feeling the wooden bow clank slightly against her armor, Helena's Mana-infused arrow whizzing past her harmlessly shortly after, hitting the burnt Paladin in the middle. To her surprise, he seemed to receive a sudden rush of energy, which made Hikari direct a glare at the Rookie Bowman which could be easily read as a non-verbal "What the hell do you think you are doing?". She gathered Mana, using multiple, rapid incantations to bless it before directing the energy at, ironically, her own enemy in an attempt to purge the unnatural surge of speed from him. To her surprise, as she did so, the Paladin seemed to slow down to a complete stop. Frozen in place.

"I suppose that worked... quite nicely, in fact." she muttered loud enough for Helena hear. Perhaps, it would be effective enough on other enemies too...

The woman closed her eyes with a smile on her face. She put her lips together just so and began to whistle a little melody. Something about it didn't seem...human. The tune was something no one could have possibly heard anywhere in the land it seemed. Silvery tendrils of...something...began to arise around Alexandra, coating her form and injuries. A lingering silvery aura surrounded the noble, even though Kat had ceased her whistling. "Who am I? An arcanist, by trade. One who is looking for someone. I'll go into detail after we've wiped the floor with these guys," she said coolly as she fiddled with her bow in a nonchalant manner as if the paladins weren't even worth her time.

    Kat waits.

    Nara moves to B3.

"If she wants to help, let her. I'm not really one for complaining at times like these. If she becomes a threat later, well, making enemies of all of us isn't really a wise idea now is it?" Nara spoke her piece before disappearing completely. Normally she walked into situations like these cloaked, but the paladins had caught them off guard. Regardless, the ensuing chaos gave her time to hide, and thus ran up to a nearby paladin with ease. Breaking out of her cover, she slashed at the large man's mail an attempt to damage it, and she was quite successful, dealing slash after slash with her daggers.

    MP: 37/45

The attacks of the paladins seemed rather brutal. She was used to fighting this type of enemy, hence why she prioritized mastering a spell that provided wondrous physical defense. Bowing her head, she recited a bit of a chant. In reaction, a green translucent barrier surrounded Loresai who had been on the receiving end of one paladin's attack. She remembered the reason that Nara got her armor-destroying dagger was the same one that she herself had for the protection spell. It came in handy against enemies that they faced quite often.

R-Ability Overwhelming Luminance activates! Hits Simon! 10 Holy Dmg! (INT)

Upon being struck, Alexandra called upon the power of holy light to create blinding circles of light all around her. They pulsed with energy before shooting upwards, scathing enemies that happened to be standing on them while leaving those who were with her unharmed. As the light dissipated, she dodged passed Hikari giving her a nod of apology for the sudden action and stopped in front of the halted paladin. She slashed the man once with her new saber, though her path backwards was obstructed. She sighed as she leaped into the air backwards, manipulating her mana to keep her afloat before diving back inwards for a powerful thrust.

  19. {Helena moves to F4 [F5 - F4]}
    {Helena basic attacks on Randy (B4)! 13 ATK Damage! Chance of Silence! (+5% Damage Output from Ravage Bow!)}

Noting the predicaments of two of the three guards that were on duty, Helena smirked. It seemed that it was time to begin felling the guards, and breaking through in order to form an entrance. The rookie bowman shrugged at Hikari, a grin on her face as the White Knight seemed aggravated at her behaviour, despite playing her card exactly how Helena had hoped she would. “Seems like you and I think more alike than I thought,” she stated aloud, before readying another arrow and peering out over Loresai’s shoulder.

Though her view was mildly obscured by the Vampire, Helena knew that her accuracy was very high… Usually. she thought to herself, with great amusement. Nocking her arrow, she pulled back the bowstring and let loose an arrow precisely over Loresai’s shoulder, in such a manner that it would hit the paladin in front of the Vampire as opposed to her. Helena liked Loresai; she was an invaluable asset, and she sided with Helena when nobody else did, which earned her much of Helena’s respect. Through this, she hoped not to lose the Vampire’s respect through a misfired arrow…

Hikari uses Shining Helix! Affects Randy, Keegan and Simon! 2 Piercing Damage!

    MP: 26/30

Hikari rushed forward, collecting Mana in her ornate mace. The weapon itself seemed to glow brightly in faint white and yellow hues of the spectrum as the infinitesimal particles of said energy charged themselves with elemental properties--those of light. As soon as she stopped, she spun once, twice, thrice on her spot with her mace pointing downwards in an angle. The movement caused the light to leak out of the weapon itself by the momentum as if it were solid or liquid, lashing out in rotating waves which only harmed the wounded Paladins.

Stopping, the shining helix dissipated almost instantly, leaving faint traces of Mana in air which were quickly drawn into Hikari, refilling her bodily reserves of such energy slightly. She was lucky they had positioned themselves in such a way all the three would be hit. The White Knight assumed her usual battle stance, waiting for their next movement. The battle was sure to not last long seeing how dramatically the tides had been turned.
