Sirensong - A Kuori Statplay

"Since earliest recorded history there have been folk tales and scripture that mention a world beyond our own. These stories are often very vague and the depiction of this world vary from tale to tale. Many describe it as the world where the spirits of the dead reside after they've passed on from our world. Some say it is an alternate "mirror world" that is much like our own, only the exact opposite. Others believe it to be the collective conscience of the human race. However the most prominent depiction, and perhaps the most disturbing one, is of a world of the unknown. A world of darkness filled with horrors that our minds could not even hope to comprehend and terrors that perpetuate themselves in minds of our children as they sleep.

Many have tried to peer into this world of fable. And many have claimed to have seen what lies beyond our world. Yet to this day we know almost nothing. Those who claimed to know never saw anything and those who have caught a glimpse refused to talk, forever shutting that knowledge within the confines of their mind.

I've never been one to believe in these tales. And the idea of this mythical world interested me little. However, these dreams of mine have convinced me otherwise. I have been plagued with the same dream every night for over a year now. I would always be standing outside my house as the ground quakes and the sky rumbles. The clouds would twist and the sky would be torn open while the ground would split and break creating a massive crevasse. I would watch everyone in the city fall into the great chasm without any way of saving them before being dragged down into the chasm as well. With each passing night the dream becomes more vivid, more disturbing, as if I'm truly experiencing the end of the world. It has gotten to the point that I've opted not to sleep these past few days. But I have this feeling. This heavy sense of dread. They are coming."

Welcome to a new Kuori Statplay (hold your rotten tomatoes please). This one will be taken from the point of the Nether and its denizens, and as such there will be something for you to consider when deciding on the character that will partake in this rp, but more on that later.

The Nether is an alternate, almost Lovecraftian dimension that devours other worlds in order to expand and feed its denizens. Now the denizens of the Nether have their eyes set on the world of Menitiros, and have begun preparations to open a rift to allow the merging and assimilation of Menitiros into the Nether. Thus they have sent a group of individuals to the world in order to complete said preparations. That group would be the protagonists (or antagonists if you think about it) of this rp.

Now back to what I said about the characters. I will not restrict you from making a character however you should have an idea of how your character became affiliated with the Nether. As I've said the Nether grows by assimilating other worlds, and when the inhabitants of the world enter the Nether they usually undergo a physical transformation of sorts. Most of the time they manage to keep some aspect of their original form. There are also the original denizens of the Nether, which can greatly vary in form. And then there are the aberrations which are monstrous creatures created and given life by those with strong ties to the Nether.

It doesn't have to be a backstory. It could just be an idea of how they came into contact with the Nether.

Yeah, they have some sense of morality. Some of the newly transformed may even have sympathy for their kin.
