  1. Anyone into RWBY here? Or is it just me?

    Is it worth my energy to recommend it, or are people just going to refuse the watch it because of my reputation for having eclectic tastes? In any case I -will- be spouting RWBY references everywhere I go see I the occasion fit. TBPH it's better than Homestuck, simply because it has the right combination in the right ratios of storytelling elements that attract me.

    Irrespective, Volume 2 is out this July. I can't sucking wait—I desperately want more character development for Yang in special. Weiss and Yang are my favourite characters. <3

    If anyone would like a gist of a sort of review/spoiler–free synopsis, I and other RWBY enthusiasts are more than fit and willing to give one out.

  2. Oh wow, didn't expect anybody else here to be interested in RWBY. And the second volume is coming out in July? I can't wait.

    And everybody knows that Jaune and Ruby are the best characters.

    Especially Jaune.

  7. Can someone explain to me the basic premise of this? Because I think I might know what it is, but I'm not entirely certain. If it's what I think it is, I could definitely see myself getting into it...

Essentially it's about this girl who wants to become a Huntress, so she joins Beacon Academy and gets assigned a group the members with whom she must undergo trials and training to become such. Hunters and Huntresses essentially protect Remnant—a sort of post–apocalyptic, semi–recovered earth—from the monsters that once wreaked havoc upon Remnant using Dust, which their ancestors discovered could be used to fuel magic (Weiss Schnee's rapier that can help her use ice/lightning/fire "sigils", or magical signs used to activate spells and magic) and extremely high–tech offensive devices (see: Ruby Rose's Big Fat Scythe that doubles as a handcannon).

    In short: Episode 8 is all the reason you need.

  9. It's also made with 3D models. They generally switch between story and light-hearted humor, kind of similar to how animes work.

  10. ^Essentially! It's an animé–style American production.

    There's also quite a few times, if you care for that sort of thing, where touchy topics such as racism and classism have been explored. Not in a stereotypical–tumblr–esque way, but it's been dealt with fairly well.
