Mages of the Tricore

Discussion in 'Freeform Roleplays' started by ShadoeMayari, May 2, 2013.

  1. Continuing from Magnolia...

The Tree Guard let out a deep, painful bellow as its trunk snapped. What was left of the Guardian began to rot and crumble away, leaving nothing but a barren and lifeless clearing. In a flash of light, Kleis returned back into her human form and grabbed her shoulder, which was still bleeding. "For fuck's sake," she muttered. It wasn't bleeding nearly as much as when she was transformed, but it hurt a hell lot more. "Tree Guards are the worst."

Kleis walked over to where the mighty tree once stood, wiping the ground away with her foot. She appeared to be disappointed when she saw that no loot dropped. She sighed, turned to Emirayha, and swung her arms back and forth, cringing at the pain in her left shoulder. "We're gonna have to deal with guys like that for a while. It would probably be a lot easier if we had someone that can use fire powers, but I don't know anyone that does." She looked around at the dying forest around her and frowned. "Let's get a move on, shall we?"

  2. Emirayha didn't notice much of the pain from being knocked back while adrenaline was flowing through her veins, but once she turned back she felt a terrible pain at her side and on her cheek.

The gashes weren't deep enough to do any permanent or deadly harm, but they were deep enough to cause excruciating pain.

Emirayha ignored her wounds momentarily as she encoraged Kleis not to move her arms so much before they could get some first aid.

"The tree guard was a formidable foe, but it did what was in it's nature; it fought for itself, just like we would do. We should get a bit of aid for our wounds so they don't hinder any future fighting as much, but after that, we shouldn't hesitate to move forward. Some new allies would be incredibly helpful. Maybe we'll meet some."

  3. "I know that there are a few Mages that live by the port town to the east, but I've never been to that area and I don't know what kind of powers they have." Kleis began to rub her shoulder as the sharp pain slowly became dull and achy. Normally she would call on some bees to grab some plant that she could use as a painkiller, but that wasn't really an option. She'll just have to deal with it for now.

"The Tree Guards are actually really friendly, even if they are a bit creepy. I guess the sudden change in Esse caused them to transformed into Reapers." The idea made Kleis shudder. If that could happen to Tree Guards, then what would happen to Mage under the same circumstances? Maybe that's what happened to Reyna.

  4. Emirayha knew that the envelopment of another being darkness was imminent, if not already occurring at that moment. It was only a matter of when. But until then, they couldn't afford to remain meek. What was there to lose? They'd just have to explore the port town.

"Maybe we could do some research on the town or something. We'll need all the help we can get, especially in our states." Emirayha said.

  5. Kleis nodded. "We could check it out tomorrow, but I'd have to tell the twins to watch the forest for a while. I don't think they'll be too happy with that. They're already doing Reyna's job at the hospital, so they're a bit overworked." She sighed and glanced to the side, spotting the large, rotting corpse of a deer. She walked towards it and slightly nudged it with her foot.
"I would ask Tyler to help, but his territory's pretty far from here." Kleis didn't really get along with the Electronics Mage either, so asking him would most likely be a last resort.

  6. "It would be bad to ask the twins to do everything..... and neither one of us should go exploring new territory alone. But if we can do it successfully, we won't have to worry about a dearth in help, and the situation could be ameliorated quite a bit. A risk has to be taken."

  7. Kleis sighed and her eyes met Emirayha's. One look at her face proved that she truly did not want to leave the forest unguarded. "Do we have to?" she whined. "I mean, I'm pretty sure it'll be okay if just one of us went. The port isn't as crowded as here and it should be safe during the day." She really didn't want to leave her home when it was at this state. She tried to convince Emirayha to go by herself, and if anything were to go wrong, she could call Kleis or or twins on her cell phone and they'd be there in a heartbeat.

  8. "I'm not saying to leave the forest alone by any means. I'm sure you can guard it better than me or the twins, and it won't be overwhelming for you: This is the time when the forest must be guarded the most; however, I know absolutely nothing of this port. Even you said you don't know what powers the mages have or what the area is like. I will go, but I want to do some research on it prior to departure. Be sure to be prepared if something happens. " Emirayha said.

  9. Kleis grumbled something under her breath, before replying, "Very well, then." She'll have to trust Emirayha for this one, but something told Kleis that she had nothing to worry about.

    --------
    OOC: Timeskip?

  10. Emirayha contemplated what Kleis was mumbling before nodding in reply. She asked the name of the port before deciding to go to the library later.

  11. "It's called St. Ports. Very creative name for a port town." Kleis' voice was dripping with sarcasm.

  12. "Ok thanks, I'll go begin some research." Emirayha said, before strolling off.

  13. It was very hot and sunny the next day. The forest failed to give Kleis any shade as she patrolled around its boundaries. She had brought a canteen with her and wore a large sun hat. She wasn't used to having to take so much supplies with her, since, even during the hottest summers, the shade of the trees and the moist dirt beneath her was enough to keep her cool. She envied Emirayha: It was probably a lot cooler over at the port town.

  14. The next day, Emirayha arrived at St. Ports. It appeared to be an overall peaceful area, with only a few shady-looking characters hiding in dark, damp, secluded alleyways and mildly chilly weather that made Emirayha shiver a bit as the breeze flowed up her long skirt.

Looking at an article she printed out with the basics about the port town, she contemplated where the mages would be. She really didn't like going to new places she was relatively unfamiliar with, but she was willing to go with it.

Before she could even mutter her thoughts to herself or think about what Kleis and Von were doing, she heard a scream in the distance. Something chaotic appeared to be occurring across town, and people were scurrying to the scene.

"A reaper?" She thought. If there were mages here, there's no doubt they would eventually show up. She cautiously and furtively approached the scene, staying as low key as possible until she could find out what was going on.

  15. There was a young girl, probably about nine or ten years of age, sitting quietly on a bench and humming to herself. She seemed oblivious to whatever disaster was happening around her. Adults were rushing to the scene, shooing young children like her away, but she just smiled and played with a glass jar, filled with what appeared to be regular soil.

She wore bright, neon orange clothing, which contrasted greatly against her black hair and dark blue eyes. She laid down on her belly, lightly tapping the lid of her jar of dirt. She did occasionally looked up and glanced at whatever disaster the adults were dealing with, but she she just went back to rolling in the mud and playing with her jar.

  16. The little girl was all that stood out to Emirayha so far. She seemed to be just innocently playing with the jar, and her orange shirt was a bit blinding, so Emirayha just moved on. She did think the girl was a bit peculiar though, being that calm and eye-catching. 'She didn't seem like a mage, but if she were say, a mature mage, then wouldn't she be doing something?' Emirayha thought. Regardless she just shook it off and continued to approach the scene. There appeared to be a large fire occuring at a major market. Too large to be started by any average means. Emirayha couldn't see what had caused the fire, but she felt an odd presence nearby. Its aura had a melancholy essence that made her feel languid and depressed. She knew something unorthodox was going on.

  17. The sounds of sirens filled the air as ambulance and a few firetrucks arrived on the scene. They tried their best to extinguish the flames, but it appeared to spread two times faster than they could put it out. Although they could not take out the flames, they did a good work of evacuating people out of the market place.

The girl watched as the firetrucks sped past her and sighed with discontent as she watched the fire spread even more. She sat upright, holding the jar of dirt in her lap, and sank into the wet earth. One could feel the ground shaking ever so slightly around the market place, but most people easily dismissed it.

  18. Emirayha stayed a good distance away as the flames spread. She didn't want to be evacuated by a fireman, so she stayed out of sight. Those mortal fireman might not be able to handle this job. And Emirayha's powers shouldn't be able to control the fire either. This would be the perfect time for a water mage. Glancing around, Emirayha began wondering where the little girl had gone off too. 'Probably evacuated.' She thought. Just then she could feel the ground shaking. She had a sense for these things that not everyone had. Something terrible, great, or terribly great was imminent; all that's left to to is wait.

  19. There was a small earthquake, strong enough to be felt but weak enough that it didn't break anything. The epicenter appeared to be in the middle of the market, in the midst of the flames. Out of sight of the firemen, a young boy popped out of the earth, leaving a large hole behind. He wore bright orange and blue armor, much similar to Kleis's. Her dark brown hair was gross and muddy and his bright blue eyes scanned the flames. On his back was a glass backpack, complete with a metal lid.

He ran, trying to find the source of the flames. He would create holes in the earth below him and force the groundwater up to extinguish the flames and clear a path.

  20. Just then, Emirayha could see a silhouette pop up in the middle of the flames. She couldn't quite make the being out, but it seemed to resemble the girl she'd seen earlier. "So we have our mage." She said with a satisfied smirk, continuing to watch from the bushes. She didn't notice the reaper-like being creeping around, pretending to be affiliated with the firemen.
