Crossover Lore (Discussion About All Things Crossover)

Discussion in 'Creation Station' started by Wonder Smash, Dec 13, 2012.

  1. Remember Crossover? You know, the "franchise" that I've tried several times to make into various things on ZEJ? Don't worry, this isn't another attempt to revive it... yet. :p Instead, this is a sort of Q&A/Speculation/General Discussion thread where you can talk about the Crossover Universe. Also, if you think I should revive it, please say so, because I'd like to if there's enough interest. :D I'll start with a basic description of some Crossover subjects...

    Story

    Origin

The origin of the Crossover Universe has changed a lot throughout the years, but the current one is accepted by Fuzzydude , another participant, and I as canon. Essentially, the Crossover Universe was once millions of separate universes that only occasionally "crossed over" One day, a chance "crossover" changed the face of the multiverse forever. In 2005, Deadpool (Marvel Comics) found an unstable Overlord Diamond (An artifact that contains the essence of a universe) that transported him to the Nintendo universe. There, Mario (Super Mario Bros) and Kirby (Kirby Super Star) had found an odd device of unknown origin. The three ended up fighting over the artifacts, and in the chaos, the diamond and device came together, causing a merger between every fictional universe ever to exist.

The merger caused Overlord Diamonds from other universes to become drawn to it, making the already unstable objects even more unstable as several other Diamonds fused with it. Afterwards, various heroes came together from every corner of the multiverse, and along with the aforementioned trio, managed to stabilize the Diamond. Unfortunately, the merger was irreversible. To make matters worse, the same force that merged the worlds also changed the characters' personalities, some more than others, although the change for most was minimal. The now quite large Overlord Diamond was stuck in a hole in the ground, on a new eighth small continent, immovable.

In order to protect the artifact, a few heroes decided to stay on "Crossover Island" as they called it, and build an outpost around it, in order to hide it. However, this endeavor led to an unexpected result. Many people throughout the new Crossover Universe heard about various resources available on the island, and, eager to explore, make money, or just go on vacation, they came to Crossover Island in large numbers. Eventually, through economic expansion, the small outpost became a large city, Crossover City, that covered nearly the entire island. Now, seven years later, (Soon to be eight) Crossover City is home to nearly every fictional character ever created.

    Basic Concepts

    The Crossover Avengers

Shortly after the giant Overlord Diamond was hidden, four villains discovered a power signature coming from Crossover Island. The villains were Bowser (Super Mario Bros), Doctor Octopus (Spider-Man), Count Dooku (Star Wars), and Megatron (Transformers). In order to protect the Island, Mario, Spider-Man (Spider-Man), Yoda (Star Wars), and Optimus Prime (Transformers) banded together to stop the villains. While the villains never found the location of the Overlord Diamond, the four heroes decided that Crossover Island, and the world in general, needed a group of heroes from several different universes to protect it, and became the Crossover Avengers, the guardians of Crossover City. Since then, other heroes have joined their ranks, including Omi (Xiaolin Showdown), Computer Jack (Gone), and most recently, a Skitter (Falling Skies). Each member represents a different source of media, although they are unaware of that fact. Mario represents video games, Spider-Man represents comic books, Yoda represents movies, Optimus Prime represents action figures, Omi represents cartoons, Computer Jack represents books, and the Skitter represents TV shows.
