ARKNET Reborn: Pitchdark ~ Enter the Jungle

Discussion in 'Freeform Roleplays' started by Nebulon Ranger, Apr 30, 2012.

  1. In her defense, TEN, Rose does not exactly have access to modern medical technology. We must try to be content with improvisations. Jude responded to TEN, not turning to look at him. He cast a quick glance at Erkin. "Noted. Dark, go with Erkin to scout the area that lies across the river. Report any and all findings to Jack via communicator." Jude told Erkin sternly before turning to everyone else. "As for everyone else, when word is given, follow closely behind Jack and I. We must not be seperated if we hope to survive this ordeal." He then proceeded to think to himself about some personal matters. He was a vampire. If he were to become thirsty, how would he sate said thirst? As far as he knew, the blood of these beasts may be toxic to their kind. He decided to not dwell on it for too long, however, and immediately began formulating a plan of action for whatever may be in the monolithic building that lay ahead of the group.

Dark cast a cursory glance from Erkin to Jude before responding, "Right. Ready to go, Erkin? I'm sure we both have defensive tactics if we get shot at again, right?" He was gearing up to take off, and he hoped Erkin was doing the same. He, like the others, had no idea what lay in wait ahead of them, but that was the point of this sort of miniature mission of theirs -- to discover exactly what lay on the other side of the river, and, if possible, bridge it so the others may get across.

  2. Ha ha, of course Dark. The only thing is that if we are able to, stealth would be preferred over direct confrontation with the enemy, since we are scouting. Of course if it would come to combat, I would be able to defend myself adequately, and if needed, I'm sure we would be able to easily flee with out flight skills." Erkin responded to Dark. Erkin then started to flap his wings, and sort of just started to hover there a foot off of the ground. "Well, are you coming?" Erkin then started to fly himself over the river.

  3. T.E.N. Wasn't happy. maybe it was all the stress of this planet. Or perhaps it was the fact that he was beginning to hate everyone but himself. Either way he'd prefer to be back on earth. He was surprised to find himself missing the firetruck house; but most of all he missed gizmo. "Gizmo... Why can't you just understand?!" He stopped thinking abruptly, remembering Judas could hear him...

T.E.N. Stepped away from Jude awkwardly, feeling a slight tinge of vulnerability.  "I... I think it would be best if we--" T.E.N. stood still for a moment. "If we just... Killed everything..." T.E.N projected it to Judas as well, however it carried no emotion, simply hatred he wished to fuel with murder. This planet was getting to him...

Drudo was happy he didn't have to do any scouting. To be honest, he was afraid of this planet, especially because they didn't have the upper hand. The monsters were after THEM, killing them like some horror movie, he felt like they'd never see the Earth again...
it had gone so far to have him consider how he'd like to go out... they mostly involved suicide. However he wasn't ready to die, especially now that they had a primary goal.

  4. Ah, you are having flashbacks. Understandable, given the grave circumstances we were pitched into. However, I am assuming you mean to kill every adversary rather than everything in a general sense. Jude returned, Killing everything in the literal sense would involve killing all of us, as well as yourself. That would not be wise. He then looked to Dark and nodded, signaling him to push off from the ground and follow Erkin ahead to scout and possibly ford the river between them and the unexplored building up ahead.

Dark nodded in response, and immediately pushed off, hovering in place on a cushion of Ki for a few seconds before getting his bearings and flying off in the direction of the river, over Jack and Nathan's heads, and motioning Erkin to follow quickly behind him.

Jack ducked a bit as Dark flew low straight over him, one of his wings almost crashing headlong into his forehead. He would have let out a derogatory demand that Dark be more careful of where he flew, involving the use of the slur 'batbrain,' but now was not the time, as he and Erkin were called for scouting duty. He turned to Nathan, telling him to wait with him until the river was forded and everything was clear, then stood, partially concealed, waiting for the go-ahead from Dark and Erkin.

  5. Nathan watched as the only two winged beings of the group suddenly propelled themselves into the air, a gust of wind fluttering down as they flapped their massive winged limbs. As he observed, they were in fact going to take reconnaissance of the large building they had stumbled upon, and by aerial observation no less. This made him feel a lot more relieved; aerial perception best fit what they needed at this moment, at least to Nathan. He'd preferred not to have the group fumble into what could very well be the death pit that they all seemed to have been waiting to stumble over. It made him shiver, thinking about every turn, every moment they were there that they were in danger. A paranoia he wished never entered his mind. A paranoia he wished to dull from his senses, which screamed it to him every waking second.

With a silent nod, he agreed to keep close to the telepathic anthrope until he assumed they would return. Looking up after the slowly dimming imagery of the newly-made scouts, he let out a distressed exhale. Please, to anything or anyone with the superior authority to do so, prevent this group from meeting utter oblivion.... for the sake of the universe.

  6. Erkin saw Dark speed ahead of him across the river, surprised that really he could fly that fast, although it is to be expected with a race which has wings... Erkin started to speed himself up, and caught up beside Dark. "Hey... so what do you think is in that place? Looks quite old, I would say it looks as if it has been abandoned, although you can never be sure." Erkin thought to himself Hmm, perhaps there are more of those Relekath creatures... of course I would not mind, it feels good to kill the creatures which have bothered our homeland for so long... Erkin flapped his black feathered wings in time with Dark, keeping along side of him as he waited for an answer, watching the rushing water below, and the scenery ahead of him.

  7. T.E.N. stood silently. He was eager to know what laid in wait for them, especially now -- as he realized his armor was so easily compromised. He turned to Judas; the only person he could halfway-stand. "It seems we will not be truly prepared for this menace. I wonder what the others are thinking... the ones who never left." He knew Judas would understand who he was referring to, and somehow, this seemed the place to bring it up. "Do you think they'll ever forgive me -- all the horrible things I did?" He stopped talking, knowing he'd say something unnecessary if he were to continue any further.

Drudo was eager to get moving. Not because of an urge to slaughter, but to get off of this god-forsaken rock; it had been 1 month since he had had a good sleep, mostly due to the cramped space inside the pods. He looked to the other members of their group, he knew there was one of them he wouldn't stop thinking about -- it was for that reason he thought of the 3 months he had gone without something else...

"You're a really beautiful lady, you know that?" He said to Rose as he walked over, attempting to sound smooth. He placed a hand on  tree branch. "Y'know, we may never make it outta here, but... at least we have each other... right?" He folded his ears back "Dammit! I'm so stupid!" He thought to himself after his overused war-time flirt.

  8. Rose looked at Drudo, the Lycan who had given her the combat knife earlier, as he said to her "Your a really beautiful lady, you know that?". It sort of caught her off guard, getting a compliment from someone at a time like this. Still, she blushed a little bit, and had to admit, for a Lycan... Drudo was fairly attractive. She slowed her pace a bit, so she could keep talking with Drudo. "Y'know, we may never make it outta here, but... at least we have each other... right?" This little sentence caused Rose to blush a little more, as she walked along, talking with Drudo. "Well... Thank you for the compliments Drudo, but I'm not exactly looking for a relationship right now. Still, I will admit, for a Lycan... you are fairly attractive. If I were a Lycan, I would likely be attracted to you." After saying this. Rose winked at Drudo, and then ran ahead a little bit so she could catch up with the rest of the group.

  9. Dark landed just shy of the lab side of the stream and began inspecting the surrounding area. A few felled branches, some large leaves near said branches and some low-hanging vines laid strewn about the forest floor. Perfect fodder for creating a makeshift river crossing should the rest of the search turn up nothing in the way of their crafty reptilian enemies. He looked to Erkin with a sort of affirmative look stretching across his face. "Nope, nothing here so far. Find anything on your end?"

"Find anything, Dark?" Jack asked through his communicator to Dark. There was a muffled reply, sounding vaguely similar to the word nope, which prompted Jack to respond, telling him to keep looking and report back if he finds anything or not. Jack looked to everyone else and brought up the good news. "Dark says the coast is clear so far. I think we could move out toward the river and wait for further instruction on if he wants us to help ford it." he said affirmatively, then turning to Jude, "Jude, your opinion on this?" Jude responded to Jack without even looking at him. "I believe it would be a good idea for the strongest and most well-versed in combat to make up the front of the pack, as it were, as well as the rear, and have the more vulnerable among us in the center so we are better prepared for another hypothetical assault." "The old escort envoy trick? What have we got to lose? Let's try it. Jude, you and someone else make up the front. I'll take the back with Nathan." Jack replied, waiting for Jude to walk ahead of him. "Understood. TEN, would you care to join me at the mid-front, or are you too wounded to do so?"

  11. T.E.N. grimaced again as he saw his wound. The sight of dripping blue had stopped, but in its place was a large chunk of wood, simply jammed in. He'd not seen something so primitive in his life - not since Gizmo. He let his air compressor give off a hiss of pain, as he was too preoccupied in his thoughts to do it himself. He turned slowly as he heard Jude ask him to be Mid-front, and something else about being too wounded. He shook his head. He knew there was only one answer to Jude's question, after all, T.E.N. was built to live and die in combat, what kind of a person would he be if he chose to neglect that fact. "I would... be honored to stay in the front." he said through creaks and labored gear movements. "We just need to find a way to cauterize this... hole."

T.E.N. knew of course that it was only a matter of time before he died - he could feel it. He was no coward though, and accepted his fate. He knew what he worshiped - Duat, his brother's domain. "I'm... Immortal!" T.E.N. remembered selfishly. "Redirecting power source to-- Shut up!" T.E.N. smashed his fist against his side, causing a loud 'clank' "Function Cancelled."
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drudo was confused. First this girl seemed attracted to him - but then she made some line about inter-species relationships, and how it wouldn't work. Lycans and Humans hooked up all the time back home... He thought to himself. H trudged off in obvious disappointment, flipping his knife out, and flicking it in and out in an attempt to seem occupied. Out of the corner, he heard Jude mention something about combat positions. Drudo didn't much care. That robot was really getting to him - the realization that they would die and all. I'll Just be in the back, I've got guns for that anyway right?" He said with virtually no emotion.

He walked over to Judas and the Robot, giving one last look at Rose as he did so. It was sort of an affirmative nod, as if to say I know, and I accept my defeat. He looked at Jude, while he transformed his knife back into the slim firearm. So, what's the plan?

  12. Nathan listened as the two obvious leading people began to discuss aloud the plans and situations. Both being furries, both being the two he had mostly had a connection with when he landed here and conversed with. He looked from Jude to Jack with a slight wariness when they finally reached the agreement. "Me be in the back?.... Nathan suddenly felt a cold paranoia run up his back. Ever since getting here he didn't trust his surroundings. And as far as he's watched, every movie involving jungle action involved troops in the back being taken out first. His body gave off an immediate shiver thinking of those.... things clambering down trees and snatching him without the others knowing, ripping and tearing him to pieces for the sheer fun of it...

Nathan shook his head as he paled, forcing back those thoughts immediately. It's going to be fine, Nathan... keep cool...

Suddenly, a loud clank shook him, causing him to look over to the robotic cyborg that was having a fit. He looked down at the large wedge of wood stuck in the wound on his side, causing him to furrow his brow. It obviously came off strange to him; never before had he seen a full cybernetic, mechanical being before. He could feel the pain coming from this being, even if his body did not take pain as a relevant necessity. Nathan's fists tightened as he looked down. People were already giving up....

"Alright, I'll do it.." Nathan replied, lifting his head up with a firm gaze to both Jude and Jack. As he thought back to his previous thoughts of death, he only shook his head.

Now was not the time to give up.

  13. Erkin continued to scan the area around him, While keeping up his conversation with Dark. Checking the lab, and the jungle around him, Erkin saw some movement, but he was not exactly sure... "Nope, not really... However I can say that the numbers on the building must mean something. Probably just separating one out of many different buildings... Of course, I'm just stating the obvious. Out of the ordinary though... I could have sworn I saw some movement down there... Could just be my eyes playing tricks on me, but you can never be too careful." He continued to look around, hoping to spot something of actual significance.
