Role-play games on the Nintendo DS

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by SecretWeapon, Nov 14, 2011.

  1. You should try getting into the Etrian Odyssey series if you're up for a challenging Dungeon Crawler RPG game~

  2. Now that there Nitori sounds pretty interesting I will look into more than I have. I love my ds right now! :)

  3. I recommend Fire Emblem, if you're interested in NinRPGS. :) It's a war game, where you have individual characters of several up-gradable classes on the field who battle enemies individually (and sometimes, when certain conditions are met, three units can attack on enemy at a time) with various kinds of weapons - swords, axes, lances, bows, light and dark magic, as well as anima magic (fire, lightning and ice/wind). It's very fun and one of my favourite series!

Do you have a DS/DS Lite/GBA? If so, try to get Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones. =)

  4. Yeah, Fire Emblem is great to play. I've played through it loads of times.

  5. Oma hobo yall! Yippe!

  6. (Warning: This post has slight storyline spoilers for a few of the pokemon games)

On the pokemon subject, I personally hated RBY; yeah, they were the first games, and they have some fun, easily exploitable glitches, but they lack any sort of story. GSC was a bit better but not by much. The series really got good from RSE on, and Emerald is possibly my favorite game besides Black. The things that hook me for Pokemon are the competitive factor, the music in some of the more recent games, and how dark the storylines have been getting. Pokemon mafia? lol. Nearly destroying the continent for more land/water? Bit better. Destroying spirit? HELLO.

And that's not even including the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games which are all in all better than the main series. PMD2/2.5 especially were a lot darker than the main series games, and the series has amazing music and characters. Chunsoft, we're waiting for PMD3. :|

Besides those, the Dragon Quest series is worth playing, even though I've only played DQV and a bit of DQIII on an emulator. XD Unfortunately I haven't played Fire Emblem/Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts so I can't really give opinions on some of the popular games out there.

  7. OH GODS PMD 2/2.5 MY LOVED ONES <3

Seriously, it's a superb set of games. Especially
Shaymin's village, and the Future Sp. episode, which made me cry manly girl-tears when Dusknoir double-crossed Grovyle and whe the Future was restored. True story.

So if you haven't played them yet, play them NAO.

  8. I just assumed everyone had played PMD, seeing as how it's like.. One of the best spin-off games for Pokémon, just losing to Pokémon Stadium & Snap.

  9. Eh, Snap isn't as good asPMD, and awesome as Stadium/2 are, PMD beats it by the number of miles in smiles. XD

  10. You're wrong, dude. Stadium and Snap are the classics, and still remain the best. PMD can come joint second with Snap though. :3

  11. This, definitely. Tying with the Touhou series, PMD is absolutely THE BEST game that I've played. Ever.

Didn't really like Snap or Stadium tbph. Classic does not mean good.

  12. Tōhō? DERP.

Even still, FFTA2, FE: PoR/RD and PMD 2.5 take my cakes.

  13. Haha, I have never played diamond just platinum, soul silver, and black

  14. Final Fantasy Tactis A2: Grimoire of the Rift........................... PERIOD

  15. ^ My good sir, you win the game.
