Puella Magi ~ Magic World (RP)

Discussion in 'Roleplay Archives' started by The Kakuzato, Oct 30, 2011.

  1. New York City: 22:31
And when darkness falls on the city lights, the soul's own light shall once again shine

A short girl with White hair could be seen at the end of a dark alley in the middle of Manhattan. She stared at the wall in front of her for a good twenty seconds, seeming to be either exhausted or simply bored. She turned away hard enough that her hair flowed around her body, only now a strange, ovular object being seen in her hand, which had just been hidden by the dark jacket she wore. She gave off an audible "hmph," as if in disappoinment.

Wonderful work, Rena, came a strange, inaudible voice. One that she knew well, and for which she held contempt. That mental intrusion could be none other than the one who gave her this life of fighting, one that most people would think exists only in fantasies. She looked around, noticing the white, fox-like creature standing atop the wall at which she had just been staring. Rena narrowed her unsymmetrically colored eyes.

"What do you want, Hachibey?" the girl, Rena Ilyata, asked accusingly, turning away from the pactmaker. She already knew what Hachibey wanted, but figured that she would stall "him" for now. In a way, Rena loved the thing's roundabout methods of getting what it wanted, even if it aggravated her at times. She knew that Hachibey wanted her spoils from the witch she had just easily defeated.

That's an interesting way to receive a compliment, Hachibey relayed telepathically, its eyes unchanging and vague, leaving everything to interpretation. Rena then lifted the arm that held the strange casing, which revealed itself to be a grief seed, perhaps dropped by some witch associated with nature, for the top of it was decorated with a plant that Rena could not identify.

"Reaping the rewards of others is no way to conduct oneself," Rena half-mumbled as she threw the grief seed towards the pactmaker, having already purified her Soul Gem, which was a violet gem situated in the cat-shaped necklace she wore. The white whatever-it-was jumped up towards the incoming object, his back seeming to open into a void much akin to a garbage pail's lid to receive the object.

See, wasn't that easy? the being communicated as it turned around, flicking its tail, Why aren't you like this more often? With that, Hachibey jumped off the building to the other side, no doubt going to annoy some other Puella Magi it could find. It didn't matter to Rena at all. The only thing that mattered to her was staying alive, which meant killing as many witches as possible.

Rena picked up the stuffed cat that she had laid on the ground next to her foot, nearly forgetting about it as she walked out of the alley. Holding the fake animal so low that its tail dragged on the ground, Rena picked up her pace and again walked out into the bustling streets of the city, which never died down. Hundreds of people could always be seen passing to and fro, each moment bringing more suspicion into one's mind, more thoughts of danger.

However, Rena was used to that suspicion by now.

  2. Merriment and laughter echoed through the halls, a thunk of a beer slammed on a wooden table, not that anyone would notice the sound anyways in this crowded place, in the corner a teen around the age of sixteen and a young brown haired guy also sat. She was dressed in a low hanging shirt, her hair was straight and neck high, it was very successful attracting the eyes of many young men and it seemed to annoy brown haired man, who's name was Jake. "Hey, Baby, maybe you shouldn't be wearing that type of clothing on the first date. Jake let the last of the words drift off, Baby lifted up her drink and took a swallow that was way smaller then it seemed.

"Aww don't worry, I've a big, strong boyfriend here to protect me, that and also some pepper spray," She patted a dark colored purse. Then she seemed to sober a bit. "let's go Jake, I think I had enough tonight." They both started getting up, the girl let out an prolonged giggle.

After all of the expenses being paid they came out at an empty alleyway, "Can you please tell me about your sister? I know she's become distant, but I would like to know your impression about her." The sixteen year old girl who Jake called Baby asked.

After a slightly muted sigh, Jake talked. "Okay Livitica, just since you asked so nicely," Jake reached his car and opened up the passenger door for Livitica. Once they were both in the car and in some traffic, Jake resumed talking, "My mother and father were in a tragic accident a few years ago, they didn't die, but went into a coma. Maybe that's why she's become distant," Jake stopped in sentence so he could take a left turn at a intersection, "My sister couldn't deal with it and disappeared, after a day I found her she seemed so happy and she told me we needed to head to the hospital, she must have went to see them or something, because she found out they were back out of the coma. Yet she's been gone more and more everyday."

After another turn into a neighborhood, he pulled up into a driveway, "This is your house, right?" Livitica giggled and Jake groaned at being at the wrong house.

"Sorry, next house over," Even though she was at the wrong house, Livitica started to get out of the blue car, "But don't worry, see you tomorrow?" After a few pleasant words he drove off. "Have to do what I have to do." Livitica whispered as she walked along with the sidewalk, going past her alleged house. Looking at Jake's car disappear out of sight, with the pinkish tinge of light surrounding it. Soon the pink tinge came back as a little dot in the distance, even though she didn't mean to, she let the connection break. A slight frown came upon her face, and would stay until she saw another person.

The pink orb has reached Livitica and started to drift above her head, along with scores of other colored orbs, her emotions. At least she could fake emotions, even though some where a work in progress, like her crush act, she needed to be a bit more modest and giggle less she concluded. Questions started to fill her head, quickly questions started to fill her head, then she thought she already knew the answers, the question that bugged herself the most was, Why am I going after Puella Magi, even though I was just trying to perfect my act? She whispered to herself "Because I made a deal to go after some Puella magi that I find."

Walking the city streets she started towards another lead the accidental lead that came from her 'boyfriend Jake' let slip, even though he didn't know it, people don't wake up from coma's together all that often, unless. "Oh sorry Jake, I forgot something in your car." Livitica was already acting the conversation out, maybe she could spend the night and happen to find his sister. Maybe.

  3. She'd been at it most of the day and now into the night. It would be her finest work! Then again it always was. She took extreme care as she chipped and scraped away at the wood. Her now experienced carpenter hands were calloused, but she didn't notice nor would she care if she did. She wiped at the sweat on her forehead for the umpteenth time. It was taking longer than she anticipated, but the young girl didn't mind. This is what she loved, at least what her father loved, and therefore what she loved. Her chisel danced across the smooth wood, chipping away imperfections, intensifying deeper cuts, improving all that it touched.

Valerie Walker stepped back from the wooden figure, taking in the whole ideal. "I think... it's... finished!" She said at last. She clicked the timer on the table. Thirteen hours. She had hoped to finish in eleven. She'd have to be faster next time. She walked around large sculpture, admiring her own work. The statue was of a great knight, battling off a deadly fire-breathing dragon. It stood about six feet high, five feet wide and about eight feet long. It really was a splendid piece of work. She could take it to the painter in the morning.

When she looked at the timer again she realized what that meant. It was almost eleven, and she hadn't done her job at all that day. Hachibey would probably appear in his mystical way and bug her to go and continually remind her of their bargain. Her expert skills with these wooden objects wasn't natural after all, and she owed it to the small fur-ball. Again, she circled around the sculpture before placing a large sheet over it, to protect it from dust and anything else that may try to assault her latest creation.

Brushing of the saw dust and wood chippings from her person, she then straightens her tool belt, replacing the chisel and hammer, and took her leave from the back room via the only door. Coming through this portal between rooms, she comes into her father's woodshop. Statues, tools, swords, staves, and decorations of all kinds lined the walls and floors. She looked at the empty corner where her latest would sit. After her wish, she had created and presented a simple figurine to her father, who since then had promised her that if she continued doing so well, he would giver her her own shelf-space. Now she had a whole section of the store designated to her works. It was a nice feeling she had every time she glanced over to it. But sometimes she couldn't help feeling... no, it doesn't matter, she's working for her skills whether they came instantly or not. But she had no talent before... none at all... was she... cheating life? Did she deserve her talents?

Valerie tore her eyes away from the site. This wasn't the first time these thoughts had arisen, and she knew it would not be the last. She had long accepted that her life of witch-hunting was payment enough for her skills... wasn't it? She walked past the shelves and went out the entrance, the bell jingling, indicating her departure to no-one as the store was two hours past closing.

She walked the empty streets of the Brooklyn area with her open hand before her, a small onyx crystal circled about with a metalic spiral lay in her palm, resonating slightly. "Where are you..."

  4. "Chali? It's time to wake up. The place is closed now."

"Huh? Oh sorry, I guess I fell asleep again."
A young girl with reading glasses and long red violet hair had woken up from her slumber. She was about average height of 5"4 with emerald green eyes. The area she was working in (more like sleeping in) was full of scattered schoolwork that she was working on. "Ugh I hate Chemistry." she told herself out loud. she gathered the papers in a pile and put them in their proper place in her notebook. Chali then puts on her backpack and starts to leave the public library. As she was leaving, she quickly glances at the clock in order to find that by the time she would get to the subway, she would miss the train. She quickly darted towards the door, ingoring her boss's demand to not run in the library. When she got outside, she tried to quickly go down the steps but trips on the last step. Her glasses fell from her face and groaned for having to be stalled any further for being late for the train once more. She bolted through the on-coming traffic and she stops for a brief moment to take a breath.

After a minute or so she starts to pace herself and cuts through a park in order to make up for lost time. As she went through she saw a couple of young men around her age in which what appeared to be a bit of dealing. She stopped in her tracks and grew angry for people her age doing drugs. She starts to walk toward them to say a few words on her mind and then she realized what would happen if they she her. They could easily kill or worse. "Just ingore them Chali," she reassured herself, "You don't have time for this, you have a train to catch. Just keep going and don't at them." As she starts to walk away, she starts to feel a little less tense and she keeps going on her way."Hey gurl hold up!" she heard from behind her. Chali starts to move faster to hopefully lose them. "Oh come on now, don't be a tease!" one of them said, "You know you want big daddy!" The other guys were laughing at his crude comment and soon afterwards, they started to follow her. Chali hears their footsteps and starts to run as quickly as she could with them in pursuit. She sees an alley that in a glance looks empty. Knowing common sense she would not go down an alley at night; but she was pressed for time and she was not going to wait for these pigs who call themselves men to have their way with her.

She sprints toward the alley and starts to feel a little bit relieved. "Oh thank god I just might get away from them!" she said. Then she came against a deadend and had only a few seconds to do anything. She tried to open a nearby back door, only to find it locked. Her mind had rushed with many things at that moment: fear, anger, and how her life had turned into this. The death of her parents, the many years of stress, and finally the time she was going to kill herself. She remember her pact with the white fox and how ever since he had appeared, her life had been rebuilt from all of her problems and had been given special powers to manipulate ice to create any object.. She then thought of an idea and decide to put it in motion. She quickly made a key through the keyhole and unlocked the door. She went inside and the ice key had melted and had managed to hide from the goons.

After ten minutes or so, Chali decide it was safe to leave and left the alley and made sure that they were not waiting for her. She started to go one her way until the alarm on her phone had gone off. She had missed the train and was disappointed due to the fact it was the last one for the day.

  5. Rena continued through the streets of lower Manhattan, keeping a close eye on the crowd of people that, depite the late hour, continued to to mill about the various restaurants and bars in a seemingly endless cycle. It was always like this, day or night, sun or rain, holiday or not. However, Rena did not care. These people were, in her opinion, beyond her reckoning, and deserved no kind of attention from her.

Suddenly, a pulse came from the necklace she wore. A sign that there was a witch somewhere nearby. Another pulse. Rena looked at her necklace, the amethyst-colored stone shone in a slow strobe inside of its cat-shaped pendant. Rena looked up from it, trying to feel the magical energy in the air so as to determine the direction that the witch was located. The pulses from the stone seemed to emanate towards the direction of the Lower East Side.

Rena walked into an alley, making sure nobody had followed her. Seeing a series of fire escapes, she jumped up to the first one -- something that would seem miraculous to any casual observer. Even though the escape was a story high, Rena easily made the jump, as if it was only between the street and the sidewalk. She did this several times until she was on the roof of the somewhat run-down business/apartment complex. Looking down towards lower Manhattan, see could see those special landmarks in the distance. The Statue of Liberty, the Ellis Island complex. Giving a small hmph sound, Rena began to run across the roof of the building she was on, and jumped from roof to roof.

As Rena neared the Upper East Side, she looked around for any malignant energy. She felt the air, eventually feeling the dense energy of a witch. Her Soul Gem seemed to strobe in anticipation of the encounter. Rena eventually specified the energy to the side of a museum, where she dropped down to round level, preparing to enter the barrier that would lead to the witch's labyrinth...

  6. She wandered the deserted streets half-aimlessly, trying to find some kind of signal. She kept to the allies and shadows as to keep from drawing attention to herself from any that may still be around. She passed turn after street after turn. Still nothing. A quiet night. Something she dubbed to be good in her dictionary, but Hachibey would not like an empty return. Given he liked anything at all.

Valerie took the next turn only to arrive at the pier. She didn't mean to arrive here, but given her lack-of-caring to navigate, her semi-random movements seem to have decided on her destination for her. That's when her onyx gem began to radiate very faintly. A witch, but far away, somewhere across the water. This was a first.

After a decision process of roughly half a second, she grinned at the idea before her. She was going to Manhattan, somewhere she hadn't been in quite some time. There was a witch there, she had to go, right? Replacing her magical trinket to it's clip on her tool belt, she spread her arms as if they were wings, with a determination in her face that made one think she could truly fly. Which she did.

Six leaf blowers appeared out of thin air and strapped themselves along her outstretched arms; two of them to her waist. The dials on the mystical contraptions switched from "OFF" to "ON" to "BOOHYEAH!" Within moments she was soaring across the greenish liquid with her make-shift, sorta-quiet, wind powered jet packs. She flew straight multiple buildings, constantly glancing down to her keychain for any change.

The gem began to glow brighter and brighter, then it started to fade. "Here we go," she stated as she backtracked to where the shine was its brightest. The blowers vanished and she dropped lightly onto the roof of what seemed to be a museum. She held her head a moment, she used quite a bit of magic in that trip. She retrieved a small black thing from her tool belt. A grief seed. Her last grief seed. She restored her magic before glancing over the edge to spot her prey... and something more.

A person. A female. A young female. A young female with a gem. A young female with a gem that was standing next to a labyrinth's entrance. A young female with a gem that was standing next to a labyrinth's entrance with the appearance of planning to enter.

"Hey I get it! You're a Puella Magi, too!" She shouted from the roof before leaping down to meet the girl.

  7. After being disappointed for missing her train, Chali started to walk the way home. She then notice the gem on top of her head was glowing. "Great timing." she said sarcastically, then sighed and said "Well, guess I gotta go do some more work." She then started to heading towards the direction that the light directed her towards. Chali eventually reached a pier and had started to look around. The light was still directing towards her objective, which was apparently across the water. She then noticed a motor boat that was still on the pier. She then sneaked onto the boat and had found the keys still in the boat. Guess it's really lucky for me she thought to herself. She started the motor and had heard someone shouting something and had realized the owner was still there. As Chali rode off she apologized to the man and said that she would return it.

After finally reaching where she was directed towards, she noticed two individuals who were waitng at the entrance of where ever she needed to go. She started to make conversation with them and said "So you must be here for the same thing huh? My name's Chali." She started to walk towards them and offered her hand to shake with someone.

  8. Two other girls came up to the currently unattended Museum just moments after Rena, both of them with questions. Rena turned around, unsurprised, even if she did not expect the appearance of other Puella Magi. Magical girls seemed to have become ever more common as of late, which slightly worried her. More Puella Magi could only mean more Witches had been and would soon be appearing. She took a hard look at the two that had come behind her, rather annoyed. She wanted to fight this witch by herself, though the draw of other girls was inevitable, considering how strong this witch was. Rena could feel its distortion within magic to be quite strong, stronger than many of the Witches she had recently fought.

Both of the girls were older than her by several years. One of the them, the first one that came, was someone who obviously worked in carpentry, which struck Rena as rather odd. She wore tan overalls, under which she wore a T-shirt, which Rena thought was rather unbefitting for a girl. She had striking red hair that would have most likely been far brighter if she did not work in a workshop as she did. The second girl, however, was far more unusual, albeit far less tomboyish in apparel. Her strangest feature was her hair -- it held a bright fuchsia color that could not have been natural. The rest of her, however, seemed somewhat normal to Rena. She wore a long pink sweatshirt, underneath which were white leggings, with even brighter pink boots.

"Yes, I am a Puella Magi as well," Rena said confidently, gazing past the girls with her different colored eyes, "you may come, but do not get in my way," Rena then wondered if these girls would help or hinder her, but put it out of her mind in a moment. She would work aloofly here unless necessity would demand that she work with them, which she doubted. Looking down, she grabbed at the cat-shaped amulet that sat on her chest, its dark purple eyes beginning to glow, which her clothes soon mimicked. The amulet transformed itself into the Soul Gem that it was, its casing molded into a shape much like that of her stuffed cat.

New clothes quickly replaced her casual wear. They almost seemed nun-like in appearance, for the predominate colors were black and white, and on her head was a long hood. Betraying this, however, was the fact that the dress was cut into several layers, with triangular cuts of fabric on the fringes of the layers. Upon the bottom of the layers were violet borders, and dispersed throughout the costume were flaps with large yellow buttons holding everything together. The hood was separated into two ear-like segments that descended to about Rena's elbow level. Her Soul Gem was nestled invisibly to the back part of the base of her neck, which no doubt went unnoticed by the pair that came afterward. Her Henshin -- the transformation she took -- complete, she walked towards the wall of the Museum, where a strange crack that seemed full of writhing energy rested.

Rena put her hand up to the crack, which began to widen. As it did, the writhing energy amassed itself into a circular portal which expanded until it was about six feet in diameter. Not caring to look back at the two girls that would accompany her, Rena walked into the portal nestled upon the side of the art museum. Into a different world; one composed entirely of magic released by the death of some other magical girl.

Within the barrier, the labyrinth extended into a hallway. Along the walls were magically created paintings. The paintings depicted what were doubtlessly the Witch's Familiars. They were obviously inhumanly tall and skinny, despite their upper torso and head the only parts of their body that was visible. They were blue silhouettes amid a red background, while black curling mustaches and hair extended outward past the sides of the head. All of them were babbling incoherently, yet in a static pattern. The pattern seemed to be 5 groups of unstressed-stressed, pause, then repeat -- iambic pentameter. Each of the Familiars went off in their babblings at a different rate and timing, causing a strange, nearly unbearable roar, for all of them had a squeaky voice that one would expect from a shrunk person in a cartoon. As Rena passed each familiar, the almost Shakespearean figures stopped and looked at her. In the middle of the current hallway, she paused as she heard movement behind her.

The paintings that had been settled behind her now slowly floated off the wall, facing Rena and her stuffed cat. They resumed babbling, though now in an unintelligible pattern, while the ones that were in front of her took their own places, surrounding Rena in the hallway.

Rena looked toward the door, hoping the witch would be just past it so she could kill off these familiars. The cold, white walls within the hallway made focusing on her balance hard for Rena, but she drew her pistol from within her sleeve, and turned to face all the familiars.

"Are you ready to fight?" she said, looking down towards the stuffed cat she held. Letting go of its paw, it began to fall at first, then righted itself, claws coming out of the ends of its arms.

  9. Valerie scanned the female before her briefly. She was a strange girl, obviously younger. She had an air about her of a feeling she could not register. The Carpenter was about to speak when someone beat her to it. "So you must be here for the same thing huh? My name's Chali." Valerie looked to where the voice had come from and spotted another girl, this one with purple hair. Why would anyone want purple hair? She shrugged it off and was about to reply in kind, but again she was cut off.

"Yes, I am a Puella Magi as well. You may come, but do not get in my way."

Again Valerie tried to make a response, but the nameless girl simply transformed her clothes into a charming black and white hooded dress thing with the most bizarre design. It was strange to look at, but surprisingly not in a displeasing way. Then she was gone. Into the portal she plunged.

I guess she's not a talkative person. Aggravated from being ignored, she drew on the power of her own soul gem. In a flash her overalls and t-shirt were changed into a simple dress of dry colors. The torso area was short sleeved and a creamy white, with a yellow bandana tied around the top. At her waist was her tool belt, which had received no change. Below the belt, the dress was a pale purple with an apron-like flap on the front that was brown, runed with intricate designs.

She was about to plunge into the portal herself when she remembered the other girl. "My name is Valerie, by the way." She spoke hurriedly, and then followed the strange child into the labyrinth.

It was white. The floors and ceiling had what appeared to be slight creases that noted where they became walls. Upon said walls were numerous pictures depicting creatures she could not care to define, for her attention was drawn to the nameless girl ahead of her. Suddenly, the paintings sprung began to encircle the girl. Their mad rambling became almost crazed. Nameless dropped what appeared to be a cat to the ground, that stood of it's own accord.

I suppose I should help her, but she doesn't seem like the type who'd like it. Valerie tucked the gem into her tool belt and then held out both her arms. Appearing within them is what appeared to be a 4-foot staple gun in her right hand, and a 4 1/2 foot nail gun in her left. Some of the paintings made there way for herself, but she wasn't afraid nor threatened. In a flourish of what seemed like super-human speed, she charged forward and twisted her heavy-laden arms about herself from left to right. 4 inch staples flared first, piercing and pinning the familiars to the walls; as immediately after came 6 inch long nails, driving through their centers.

With a spinning front-flip toward the paintings behind Nameless, she dispatched the remaining few, those that had come for her, in like manner. Her staple gun vanished and was replaced by a sledgehammer, which she brought down on one of the babbling creatures as she alighted upon the ground. "Hi, my name's Valerie. I didn't catch yours?" She spoke as the nail gun flared, piercing a familiar that tried to attack her from behind.

  10. "Yes, I am a Puella Magi as well. You may come, but do not get in my way." The little girl's responded to her previous question harshly and the girl changed her appearance an enter the portal. As she watch the little girl enter the portal, Chali saw herself in the little girl. And to think, I used to be like her at one time. she thought to herself. The red hair girl followed and did the same and was about to through the portal but stop and turned around to say "My name is Valerie, by the way." and then walked through the portal. Chali lowered her hand and sighed. "I guess they really don't want to socialize." Chali then moved closer to the portal and standed in front of it. She touched the gem with two fingers and was blanketed in light. When it faded, she had her hair in a ponytail and was wearing some armor. Her clothes had also changed: she had gained a blue long sleeve shirt and navy blue pants with a long belt hanging on the side and had gain pinkish gloves. She looked around to make sure no was around and then she entered the portal.

    [hr]
When she entered through the portal, she saw many paintings on the walls depicting what resembled some sort of blue beings with large mustaches, except they only had a head and a torso. She then noticed the paintings coming off the walls, muttering some chant of sorts. They then surround the small girl that had entered first, but were quickly defeated by the second girl. then Chali noticed a few coming up to her. She released some frosty wind from her hands, creating some ice that eventually shattered to make a sword and shield. She slashed at the ones closest to her and then from the tip of her blade created a wolf made from pure ice; in which defeated the remaining ones. Chali got on the wolf and rode it up the stairs and regrouping with the other two girls. She dismounted from the wolf before the wolf disappeared. then turn to them saying "Now I hope you leave some for me to fight."
