Minecraft Discussion

  1. Just thought I'd make a thread about minecraft. here we go ~

    What is Minecraft?​

    Minecraft is a sandbox game made by the Indie developer Mojang Studios. The basic premise is to survive in a psuedo-randomly generated world(the generation is based on either a generated seed or an inputted one) inhabited by monsters and animals. You can destroy blocks and craft things with them, and build structures with them.

    The main site, where you can learn more about the game and buy it, is here, while there is a wiki here that goes even more in-depth on the aspects of the game.

    Anyway...

    Now to actually discuss minecraft ...



    My current project is simply making an awesome castle/house/town/something on a small isthmus I found while exploring a world of mine.

    I have just one pic so far.

    Yes I use mods. Specifically a chimney mod and an in-game invedit. I use other mods but those are the main ones seen in this pic.

  3. Ah yes, the master craftsman game...

    Here I introduce something I've been working on slowly but surely:

    Ziolang's Castle Project

    It was started before 1.8, and I haven't done the "fancy look" yet, I'm pretty much just building the shell right now. When it is done, it'll look so nice =x

    made in survival single player with materials and building done naturally with no cheats/hacks/mods involved.

  4. I would collect materials for my stuff, but I get really bored of mining and stuff and usually just want to build rather than waste all that time digging up rocks.

    EDIT:

    Well, I did some work on my little complex. First, I made the isthmus I was on something more akin to Constantinople/Instanbul, in the terms that I made a canal between the two oceans.

    I took out the giant mushrooms btw =/

  5. Honestly, it looks kind of weird, but I understand it isn't finished.

    Also, keep in mind that no matter how nice a material looks, it's always a good idea to use a variety; make trim or somethin...

    Otherwise it looks nice =D

  6. I love minecraft, My com however does not, I have made things like big ben, stonhenge, Eiffel tower, and other random crap.

  8. Well let's see....I found around 20-30 blocks of diamond in one spot except....mobs everywhere, a spawn, and lava surrounding dimanond. In the end I died and raged.

    In other news, I finally found out how to make a server and nate it was actually pretty simple xD

  10. Bump!

    So I decided to do some modding to test some shit. The mods I used were TooManyItems, the minimap, and Single Player Commands. The primary thing I was testing was how the Enderdragon, the new "boss" of Minecraft, acted in Peaceful and on the overworld. Results:
    -- Enderdragon spawns in Peaceful and WILL attack the player. idk if it does damage because I happened to have that off.
    -- Enderdragon acts normally in the Overworld. Boss Health appears and everything.
    -- However it made my mods glitch up... on SPC, Fly stopped working and Freeze only half affected it. While most mobs would stay in one position with Freeze, the enderdragon twisted around(though couldn't actually fly around, it was stuck in one place) and flapped its wings, and would turn to face me. Then it stopped working on the Enderdragon altogether and flew at me, making a cavern into which it randomly fled.

    So now there is a dragon with the ability to destroy blocks on contact loose in my map.

  11. I'm supposed to be picking this one up later, probably around next month after my aforementioned date. Couple of really old, good friends (including turbotaxer) have convinced me to try it out, especially after showing me this video of a Minecraft Game Boy simulator that played through the whole first level of Super Mario Land. I totally wanna use my JNoodles to try making something as exquisite as that! And the free-roaming-esque mode really interests me, as does this whole new story element they've tossed into one of the modes. I'd love to play with you guys on a server when all's said and done on this side of things as far as purchasing a copy goes.

  12. Been having fun taking a Flint and Steel to the houses in the villages I come across. Also spawned myself a few Enderdragons again, used the freeze command, ran the hell away, and now there are a few dragons running around my world. :p

  15. Does anyone know of anyway to make Minecraft less laggy on a horrible computer? I haven't played since beta 1.8. I have various random Minecraft pictures but nothing relevant really.

  16. No, you can't try uploading it to a photo sharing site if anything.

    Back playing minecraft again after several months and I built a couple structures with my friends the past 2 weeks, but don't have any pics though :p

  18. Hey people of ZEJ Roleplaying playing Minecraft. I just started playing it only a few weeks ago, and I got to say, oddly addicting.

    So let me tell you about my recent adventure, right now I am at a nice dessert lake, got tired of trying to build a castle so I instead built a log house. I would show you a picture, but I can't find any files of accidental photos I took. I also got a mine in the back of my log house and that goes into a abandoned mine shaft (I am using it as a poisonous spider farmer) and trying to figure out something else to do on there.

    Any ideas?

  19. LAVA MOAT AROUND A WOODEN HOUSE.... MUAHAHAHA JK, seriously though a deep hole going around your house with a bridge would be a good defence against mobs. I often make some dispenser traps near my doors so when I run in, I can flip them on and it shoots arrows. Anyways, any form of defence would be good.
