What job do you plan on trying to get?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous Conjectures' started by Cid, Mar 8, 2012.

  1. Im trying to look into becoming a game-programmer at the moment... Ye :p Title says it all

  2. Game design or author. Yes, two competely different careers. XD

  3. Whilst I would like to become involved with some kind of online-based creative job, I most definitely wouldn't see it being below me to work in a shop or something. As long as it has a reasonably predictable work pattern and I have superiors to work for it sounds good to me :D

  4. Video game designer. Nuff said. :D I would prefer to work for Nintendo, but I'm not too picky about who I would work for.

  5. Am I the only one planning on entering the medical research field? o.o Because that's what I'm doing.

  6. I look at everybody else and realize that wanting to be a Video Game Programmer (Nintendo or Blizzard cause Blizzard also has awesome stuff for 1, 5 and 10 year employees. Shield, sword and ring. all real!) and working on my own book on the side is quite common. Who would have thunk it?

  7. I have dreams of becoming a nurse. :)

  8. Programmer, probably either web-related or audio. Either that, or a self-published musician.

  9. Absolutely no idea what career path I'm looking down right now... Earlier in my life I had plans to be a biochemist of some sort, but I absolutely hated the biology strand of my grade 10 science course... so that doesn't seem as promising anymore.

Really, I don't know what I'd be looking to do that could keep me interested for a long period of time. I want nothing to do with mathematics, so a lot of my paths are sealed from that, though it could still happen if I change my mind in a little while, haha. Maybe something with computers if I ever get around to learning the ins and outs of coding.

I've also got a bit of an interest in business, nowadays, so possibly something surrounding that. Marketing? Business law? Who knows! Law in itself is very intriguing to me, but I'm not sure I'd be able to handle the glaring flaws of the Canadian (and, of course, international) legal systems; my morals would probably hinder my performance there, especially with criminal law. It'd tear me apart.

    tl;dr? No clue. :p

  10. Does mooching off welfare and social security count as a job?

  11. ^ Possibly.....

  12. I don't know, I have very a relatively very wide set of options. I love sciences and mathematics, and am taking the MBiPC strand in high school (bio, phys, chem, maths, eng, critical thinking, couple of other sciency stuff - roughly the equivalent of AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Phys, AP Environmental Science, AP Calc and AP Stats, and possibly some other stuff, I haven't a clue)

  13. I'm shooting for a job in the Public Administration business. Here in America, you can obtain a degree like that for a bachelors and pretty much be set with a management job that pays a nice sum. What I plan to do in particular, though, is obtain a phD in Hospital Administration. The average pay for those people, even though it's not what I'm fully-in this field for at all, is $292k. Needless to say, it'll be more than enough to help myself and my family out of any financial ruts and secure a bright future for all of us. On top of this, maintaining one of the most important buildings in society? Sounds appealing to me. I've always been good with organizing groups and managing them, so this might be right up my alley. Plus, I love helping people out, prior to Dark or Eebit's beliefs.
